as most Wetherspoons will be showing the FA cup final kicking off at 3pm

How times have changed. Originally, Wetherspoons had no television, music or gaming machines so that they could maintain a quiet atmosphere.

I won't be visiting one today anyway.

Not all spoons have TV’s.

The ones that do only show big sporting events, like the FA Cup Final, Six Nations Rugby, World Cup (Rugby and Football) along with the Olympics.

They do not show weekly games, events.

The majority of Wetherspoons with a TV permanently display subtitled news with the sound off, apart from showing major sporting events as GG13 said.
