Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and dry just before sun up here in Brackley this morning.
Have had a bad night as to loo visits , but otherwise up and showered ,and get into my usual routine with the bus trip to Bicester to shop and maybe chat to those I know.
Health wise I think the cold chilly wind we have been getting seem to be the cause of problems , Maybe I should have the Raspatory jab.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Malta where another hazy day is forecast with a high of 26°C.

The new handyman arrived right on time yesterday and did a good job fitting the new centre light and dimmer switch. He’s going to return to do some painting for me and his charges are very reasonable. I wish I had found him before as I was definitely overcharged for having my bedroom painted and it’s not even been done to a good standard.

I picked the boys up and had them until 5.30. We played outside for most of the time and they were absolute angels. They have good imaginations and make up their own games.

I have an unexpected hair appointment this morning as my hairdresser can’t work on Friday this week due to a hospital appointment.

I’ll be picking the boys up again. DD3 said her friend could collect them but I said I love seeing those two little happy faces coming out of school. They are what keep me going.

Sorry I missed your birthday harrigran, belated congrats and I hope you had a lovely day.💐

Hoping you all have a good day.☀️

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. I doubt we’ll have rain, but I hope the cold wind will die down.
bellas, you are having such a lovely time with your little darlings. It will be such wonderful memories when they are adults, for all of you and are irreplaceable. ash, enjoy your French stay.
I slept very well last night. I had been cold the previous night, so added a blanket to my lighter bedding and was as snug as a bug…
I also was very tired from doing so much. Baked a coffee tray bake and brownies, made 17 pots of orange/lemon marmalade, washed and labelled them. Did the washing, dried on the line and ironed.
The chiropodist came and really gave us value for money as she spent nearly 45 minutes on each of us. My feet feel lovely, but the acid test will be today with the FAB cafe and later the “hill climb” to the next village library where I’m leading our book group. I suggested the book which I had enjoyed but curiously rereading it after a couple of months was hard going.
Have a gentle day all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🐦‍🔥

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Belated birthday wishes Harrigran. 🎂

It was a busy day yesterday, between my shift in the shop and the yarn group last night. We are sewing flowers onto fine garden mesh to make decorative panels which we will put up in the centre of our wee town. Every day I do most of the NewYork Times puzzles, Wordle, Connections, Sudoku, Spelling Bee, mini and midi crosswords and a couple of others so had all that to do when I got home last night. I wish I could skip it sometimes but it has become such a habit that it’s almost a compulsion.

Today will be batch cooking day, not quite 101 dishes to cook with mince but a few.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from Sheffield

It is so cold grandMattie isn’t it .I wish it would warm up a little bit.

I have a full day working then I’m going for my toes smartened up and painted pink as we are off on holidays on Sunday . I thought I better make my feet look decent .
We are going to Zante . It’s the first time we’ve had a fly and flop holiday for many years , at least since before Covid so I’m trying to smarten up a bit. Even the legs are getting a shave.
I have a volunteer meeting this evening so by the time I get home it will be straight to bed.

Take care everyoneflowers

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, blustery, damp corner of Somerset. Rain showers forecast all day.

Such a change after yesterday when we wandered the rhododendron wood in sunshine, leaving just as the clouds piled in. Ignoring the sat nav we had no trouble finding our way there. It’s just further than I’d like it to be and suspect that will be our final visit.

Matters domestic will fill the day today. Ironing and dust removal along with a call from our goddaughter which I anticipate will be a long one. I can do nothing to help her situation other than listen as any suggestion I offer, although asked for, are promptly ignored. I just hope a listening ear will defuse some tension.

Belated happy birthday wishes harrigran and good wishes to anyone with celebrations today.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Good morning from a cold and rainy Black Country,

Luckily it was bright and sunny yesterday on our walk around Westminster and Covent Garden before our train home at 3pm. The hordes were camped outside No 10!

Today I have to go over to Mums to go food shopping for her. I usually go Tuesdays, but being in London yesterday I will go today, she will be at the Day Centre.

Belated happy birthday wishes harrigran I hope you had a lovely day.

Sar53 Wed 13-May-26 06:32:33

Good morning from Leamington where I believe I can hear rain. I'm not looking forward to the school run with DGD4.
DH saw his Consultant yesterday and the transplant has taken and he is beginning to see again. Such relief.
He will have another appointment in 4 weeks to check on progress.
We can see light, literally, at the end of a very long tunnel.
Today I will tackle washing and ironing, 3 girls means lots of dirty clothes.
Belated birthday wishes to Harrigran, I hope you had a good day.
Wishing you all well, best wishes xx

RosesandLilac Wed 13-May-26 06:43:45

Good morning, it’s chilly, grey and an uninspiring sky here in south Glos., supposedly we’re getting rain today but I’ll be surprised if it’s much.
I test drove a lovely bright orange Micra automatic yesterday and it’s perfect for me. Even better it’s nearly a direct swop for my current car; I will collect it next week!
I have stopped the insurance, the lovely man made it very simple. I have a ‘pay as you go’ policy which is fantastic for someone doing few miles. I just need to swop the tracker. I’ve added breakdown coverage, including tyres, for complete peace of mind.
It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but as I never used them on my Focus, I won’t miss them 😁
I seem to have got a cold from somewhere, didn’t sleep well but a quiet day today. I have a zoom art class this morning, nothing is ready for it so that’s the first thing I need to do.
I was surprised that so many of my roses are blooming already, it’s early isn’t it? They’re looking remarkably healthy too, considering that I neglected them this year apart from pruning. I will give them a feed if it rains, otherwise I will need to get a liquid fertiliser.
Belated happy birthday hariigran, I hope you had a lovely day.
Wishing you all a peaceful day x
🌹

RosesandLilac Wed 13-May-26 06:44:43

Swopped not stopped the insurance 🙄😁

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and cold, only about 5° 🥶
Good news at last about your DH Sar, so pleased for you both
I’ve a busy day ahead with volunteering, there’s a group of us travelling over to Aberdeen for the day to help out there with the finals. An early train out and a late train back but we’ll have a good time and enjoy it.
Enjoy the new car Rosesandlilac it sounds good
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope the day is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

kittylester Wed 13-May-26 06:56:46

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire. We have had rain overnight but it is now brighter but chilly.

Our cleaner is due at 9.30 and DH has the gym. I have a few phone calls to do upstairs in the study.

I hope you had a good birthday Harri.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Wed 13-May-26 07:04:55

Morning, light rain and a breeze here in S Hants, I have a filthy cold, so a night of coughing.
Great news Sar you must both be so pleased.
Good you’ve found a car Roses sounds just right.
I’m going to have a quiet day, cottage pie to make, washing to do then not a lot, probably a sleep. MrJ working all day,
Pleased my team won their semi last night.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 13-May-26 07:11:40

Good morning from a bright and chilly S E Essex, oh I need the warmth of the sun…

Pleased that your DH’s eye is improving Sar53 what a relief.

Hope you enjoy your new little car RosesandLilac

I am off to the gym this morning, then I should get on with the jobs that I have been neglecting. If I say so myself I am getting exceptionally good at procrastinating.

Wishing you all a good day 🙋‍♀️

Marzipan22 Wed 13-May-26 07:11:50

Good morning from a bright but very blustery Cornwall where I can see the trees in my wild wood above the patio doing a dance. Someone a couple of doors down planted a big white rambling rose a few years ago and it has finally rambled over to mingle with my ivy. It's very lovely. Sadly I've had to stop feeding the birds because a young rat appeared near my door.

Yesterday at the bus stop three young people were vaping profusely and it gave me palpitations and breathing problems, a new reaction for me but then I usually steer clear of anyone smoking or vaping. Even outdoors it affects me. By the time I got home an hour later I'd used a deep breathing technique and ridden the storm and then a walk to Tesco to buy milk helped it dissipate. Fortunately I'm not a panicker but I had been debating whether it would be sensible to call 111 on the bus and if so which bus stop to get off at if necessary.

Today I'll skip my new church home group to help my daughter-in-law again. We haven't much painting to do now. She's talking of creating a mural of a giant swan in her bathroom which with her artistic ability will be amazing, I'm sure. I'll be able to get back to my jaunts soon, starting next week with a day trip to the Isles of Scilly.

Good morning from a bright W Kent
Belated happy birthday harrigran
Good news Sar
The car sounds lovely R&L
Success yesterday at the walk in hairdressers. A short bob for a change.
Today I shall move a load of books on to the charity shops I hope.
Best wishes

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a chilly, wet South Yorkshire. There will be no let up from it today.

I had a bit of a “down” day yesterday. I think my recent tumble had more of a psychological effect on me than I thought. I didn’t realise how much it had knocked my confidence. I had to force myself to go to school in the afternoon but was glad that I did. DD rang in the evening and we had a good long chat, which helped.

Writers group at the library this afternoon - the librarian leads a session with us once a month and they are always interesting. I will look for a new iron while I’m at the mall. Not that I do a lot of ironing……. as little as I can get away with which makes me wonder how I’ve managed to wear my present iron out!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

Good morning from damp Leicestershire.

The MRI went well yesterday and now the anxious wait for results as it was requested after the six month CT scan.

This morning we are meeting up with friends which will bring a little normality and it is my DGD’s 11 th birthday so hopefully a FT with her.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 13-May-26 07:29:20

A quick morning all from Kew. I need to be up and showered ready to take granddaughter to school by 8.30 am.

I had a lovely time at the V&A yesterday and will go to the National Gallery today.

Have a good day everyone.

Redcar Wed 13-May-26 07:29:27

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. I was woken at 5.45 by rain hammering on the window, but it soon stopped and is sunny again now. Still that cold northerly wind though and the heating has come on.
I saw my dementia friend yesterday, she is gradually losing the ability to swallow, so eating is becoming more difficult for her and worrying for her DH, because he feeds her.

A belated Happy 80th Birthday * harrigran* I hope you had a lovely day.

sar53 good news that your DH’s eyesight is starting to improve.

Thinking of all who are struggling with life’s challenges, and hoping that those challenges become easier to deal with soon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

glammagran Wed 13-May-26 07:30:35

Good morning from a dull Wiltshire. It’s been so cold I’ve put a broken electric thick blanket (minus cable) over my 7.5 quilt. So glad I kept it.

Today I’ve an appt with my lovely hairdresser. I totally forgot to ask her to do my toenails which she usually does and she is always so busy. I did them myself yesterday and they are pretty shocking. DH volunteered but they would have been even worse.

I did most of my packing yesterday for our holiday to Crete. Just dresses to go in on top. DH did his last week!! I don’t get involved. When I recently bought new made to measure curtains for the children’s room, he took GD’s toddler ballet dance tab top curtains for his own room because they are blackouts. Why didn’t he just buy some? He’s very odd in many ways.

I’m so happy for you both Sar2. Your DH has certainly been through the mill.

Have a good day everyone.

ginny Wed 13-May-26 07:31:05

Good morning. Rain over night and it looks like another dull, damp and chilly day. Come on sunshine.
No golf for DH but he will probably pop out for coffee with his pals.
Bits and bobs for me, another lemon drizzle cake to make and a carrot cake.
This afternoon is craft club, someone else is in charge of the project so I can relax. Afterwards I will pop in to see DD3 and the boys .
Wishing all the best day possible.

dragonfly46 Wed 13-May-26 07:34:45

That’s great news Sar such a relief.

Georgesgran Wed 13-May-26 07:49:13

Good Morning from a cool, overcast Durham, where, back in my own bed, I’ve slept well. Thank you for all the good wishes for my journey home - it worked - no hold-ups and I made my chiropody appointment here later. Looking forward to another jaunt next month now. Zante was a favourite when my DDs were younger, Melanie. Enjoy.
Belated birthday wishes for yesterday Harrigran. Hope you had a good day.
Better news for Sar and a new car for RandL - now you need some health action soon.

Best wishes to all. X
