Have been musing about coffee this morning, not the good stuff but instant coffee, but a really enjoyable one.I’m going to buy something later on today and am always hoping to find a better one than the last one I bought.
The coffee in the rest room at work is always poor quality so I will start taking my own in with me.
It needs to be one with caffeine. What can you recommend?

I buy Nescafé gold decaf, when I’m out I enjoy a Lavazzo and would love to find an instant decaf that tasted like that.

Another vote for Nescafé Alta Rica I only drink coffee and have found this the best.

Delallo espresso.

If you’re in England try Little’s. Available in delicatessens and possibly other places. Not the cheapest but worth it imo. Not sure how widely it’s available.

Kenco millicano intense, silver can, the best,

I agree they are worth the money particularly if you only have one or two cups a day. Not bitter at all. Taylor's ground coffee is really good as well. Italian lazy Sunday morning I think it is called.

It’s Kenco Colombian for me, from Sainsbury’s or Ocado — or even Amazon.

I've tried all different coffees but after drinking Nescafe Azera Americano at my daughters I've stayed with that. It's not bitter like I found all the others. We have a Nescafe sachet in a morning - Cappucino, Toffee Nut or Double Choc Mocha for a treat.

Nescafe Azera is quite nice, always best to drink a full glass of water first in the morning,..I now try to most days since dr’s advice to my daughter.

I like Costa instant, the dark and intense. It’s on offer in Morrisons for £6 a jar at the moment.

Annitona Fri 08-May-26 14:20:10

I have been buying Kenco Millicano for years and always stock up when it is on offer.

Have you tried ringtons instant coffee?, if you don’t have a ringtons van doing the rounds then you can buy their products online.

Nescafé Gold Decaf

Lupatria Fri 08-May-26 14:42:13

another vote for douse egberts - so much better than nescafe or kenco.
at least in my experience.

Hi everyone. A bit late to the table but has anyone tried the M&S coffee sachets? Real coffee and in varying strengths plus a decaf )not for me!). There are 20 sachets on a box for about £4 but they taste great and easy to take to work or wherever.

chrissie13 Fri 08-May-26 15:15:25

Nescafe Alta Rica is my favourite by far.

missdeke Fri 08-May-26 15:29:59

Having drunk coffee all my life chemotherapy put me right off 10 years ago. It's taken very gradual steps to get back on coffee, I still can't drink 'proper' coffee so it's instant for me, the one I've settled on is Nescafe Cap Columbia, I find although it's a lovely coffee taste it's also very smooth. I also need to put milk in first and soak the coffee before I add hot (not boiling) water.

DianaLouise Fri 08-May-26 15:56:22

I have had problems recently as even Nescafe gold blend tastes of nothing try Azera it actually tastes of coffee

Milest0ne Fri 08-May-26 16:15:11

I have tried the sachets from Lidl Skinny Latte and and other varieties. They are in foil sachets and are great for picnics as you just need to add hot water (and sugar) Mild flavour. I think Nescafe also do some .

Soozikinzi Fri 08-May-26 16:15:58

Nescafe espresso . The only one I ever buy . People ask what coffee is this when they visit!"

Basgetti Fri 08-May-26 16:22:00

The Aldi version of Milicano is really good and half the price.

Musicgirl Fri 08-May-26 16:29:34

I drink more tea than coffee and, because I am prone to headaches caused by caffeine, I generally drink decaffeinated coffee (l am fine with ordinary, good quality tea). Percol is my favourite but I can only find the decaf variety on Amazon these days so I have set up a regular order. Otherwise, I like M and S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s decaf gold blend. These might be more expensive brands but I think it is worth paying extra for a good, enjoyable cup of coffee and it lasts a long time.

This is what I bought to try first, but have now made a list and it will be interesting to try all the suggestions, it won’t take forever as I drink a lot of coffee particularly when I do a night shift as it keeps me alert.
So thanks to all for sharing ideas, I think this thread may help a lot to others too.😃

Just an observation: not a criticism at all! The problem with these type of questions is you get snowed under by lots of personal preferences which, of course, may not be to the taste of the OP. As a coffee drinker myself I have tried most of the varieties suggested but my palate and preferences mean of course that some I like and some I detest. I guess we all have to be willing to try until we find what we do like. Be sure though that the coffee you regularly drink and like will repel someone else.
There is always water I suppose.
Still or sparkling?
