Toothpaste got rid of a stain on my cherished cashmere sweater.
I use barbecue tongs to get stuff from a top cupboard and my walking stick to get items in supermarkets which always seem to put the things I want so high up they are only accessible to those a lot more than my five feet in height.

Off track but why do shoes put the smallest size shoes on the top shelves. Stands to reason that most size 3, 4 shoe wearers are short in stature. As a 5 foot nothing girl maybe I should take my sweeping brush to get them down

Esmay thanks for the reminder about shaving foam. I have a canister in the cupboard. Recently I was looking at it and wracking my brain trying to remember why I bought it. You've reminded me!

We save four pint milk bottles for garden supplies in the greenhouse and decant grit, pelleted fertilizer, vermiculite etc into them. They stack more compactly than if left in the original assortment of containers, sacks, tubs etc. We write the contents on the outside with a permanent marker near the neck to be read easily

I have a sofa in front of my living room bay window that has plantation blinds. I use one of those extending spring loaded rods for net curtains to push open and close the slats. The rubber end on the rod prevents any damage to the blinds. I use long silicone tipped tongs to get serial packets out of tall cupboards (I am only 5'2). I use the plastic pots from Christmas puddings to mix polyfiller in and old ice cream tubs for steeping dishcloths in bleach. I also use an old ice cream tubs for putting decking oil in when preserving the fence and I use a long handled small paint roller to apply it.

I use a wok tool to flick cereal boxes of the top shelf and used a toothpaste tube lid as a "buffer" for my shower sliding door when the white plastic door stopper wore through and fell off. The tube cap has been there at least 5 years now.

At my mother-in-law's house I also use a spaghetti server to close the high up window light above her sink unit.
Maybe lots of people do this.

Reminds me .... my OH used to call our spaghetti server the camel castrator!

I use my fish fryer to hook things from the back of top shelves where my husband often likes to place things

I carry a folding grabber in the bottom of one of my supermarket shopping bags. Very useful for out of reach items. I used it this week for ice creams at the back of a high freezer cabinet. There is never a tall person around when you need one, and I am 'vertically challenged'.

A good tip I read on GN was to use a shiny copper coin to scratch off limescale around taps. Works a treat!

I do remember a teacher getting the children to take a baby tooth in each and watch it dissolve in Coca Cola 😯
