Good morning from a bright and dry midlands.
Not much sleep thanks to sciatica.
Up soon and off for a long walk after tablets and a cuppa.
Dreamt about my lovely mam last night.

Good morning from a bright Bristol.
Washing in the machine, ready to put on the line. It’ll be dry in a couple of hours.
It was so good to see FGT back yesterday. Welcome back!
After a big shop at Tesco yesterday, buying a mountain of things for chutney and piccalilli, and in preparation for next week’s fete, we stopped at the pharmacy to collect my prescription.
I then spent most of the rest of the day, making marrow (overgrown courgette really) chutney, the cutting up all those vegetables for piccalilli. I salted them ready for cooking today.
Today - piccalilli, washing and labelling all the jars. They now need to be matured in a “cool”, dark place for at least 6 weeks.
DS is visiting briefly this morning before heading off to France to visit some ex-colleagues, who have retired. They will be joined by a Spanish couple, again ex-colleagues now working in Norway.
At lunchtime-ish, a lady will come over to give me stuff for the book group on tomorrow. Curiously, I’m almost the newest member but have been selected to lead in her absence. Hmm.

Good morning from Malta where another hot day is in store. ‘Real feel’41°C

Took Buzz to the vet at 8am and left him for the day, then went to stay with the boys while DD3 was out for the day.

DGS2 still has an awful and persistent cough after his treatment for croup, poor little chap. They were both very sweet and well behaved.

The vet called in the afternoon with the results of Buzz’s ultrasound which were not good.😞

I asked what would she do he was her dog and she said put him to sleep.

As I was with the boys I couldn’t let myself think too much about it as I didn’t want them to see me upset.

When I went to pick Buzz up at 8pm, there was a different vet there who had done the ultrasound and she said that without a biopsy they can’t tell if the abnormalities on the liver are abscesses or tumours. She suggested giving Buzz a chance by having him on strong antibiotics which would clear up infected abscesses.

I felt absolutely torn because, in my heart of hearts, I don’t believe he can get well again, but she made me feel I was killing him when he might stand a chance.

It is also costing a fortune, €500 since Saturday and another few days hospitalised on antibiotics will likely double that.
I don’t want to sound mean, but there is a limit and it feels as if there won’t be a happy ending.

I feel emotionally drained but will take him this morning and give him the chance he deserves. He’s still his usual sweet self, my gentle giant who looks at me with nothing but love in his eyes even though he must wonder what on earth I’m doing to him.😢

Didn’t see much of the tennis yesterday for obvious reasons. Hope to see Alcaraz today.

I think another heat wave is just around the corner.
I'm awake early today, lots on my mind. I hate it when I wake up and then cannot get back to sleep.
Bed change and club admin this morning. Committee meeting this evening.
It was good to see FGT back yesterday.

Good morning all. A dry, sunny morning in Glasgow with temperatures rising as the week goes on with a high of 29deg. predicted on Saturday.

Bed linen washed yesterday and hung out to dry in the sun. The winds were almost gale force and many legs were used to stop it flying off the line…..dry in no time.

Work has started in the garden….what a mess already with pots and garden furniture all piled on the grass. I will just have to avoid looking at it and picture the finished result in my head! I have promised myself not to stress out about it. 🤞

Blood results were good and I will be staying on these new BP meds which show healthier readings.

You are between a rock and a hard place, Bellasnana. I do feel that if Buzz is kept going by the suggested treatment, you could well be facing the same dilemma within a few months. My heart goes out to you as you deal with this. 💐

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and sunny. It feels warmer though and I've got the fan on. Bellasnana it's such a dilemma, isn't it? I had to get my last dog put to sleep because the cost of investigating his problem was astronomical and there was no guarantee that he could be helped. i really feel for you. GrandMattie you are such a busy woman, I don't know how you fit everything in.
Yesterday was a day of two halves. The boys were really good in the morning. Dgs1 helped me pick lavender for drying and dgs2 was a sunny wee thing. However it changed. Dgs2 had lots of temper issues, demanding food constantly but didn't know what he wanted and dgs1 kept winding him up. I was very glad when their mum came for them. I think they were both tired as they got up really early.
Today we are going to soft play for an hour or so. Then we'll pick more lavender. I will make peanut butter cookies for dgs1 and they can help shape them. I might make bread too and they can pummel away at that. Dinner will be the last of the gammon. Have a good day all

Good morning from warm s somerset

Bellasnana, my dds horse had a worrying ultrasound and an exploratory operation, gut related. They found a massive abscess which was too big to remove, he was put to sleep. What I am saying is that an abscess can also be very serious and antibiotics did not touch it but it put him through a prolonged painful period. Don`t get sucked in by another vet. False hope is given by some to keep the cash flowing. The honest vets think more about the patient than about potential income. I am thinking of you and the stress you are going through

I woke too early today but like to get jobs done during a cooler period. Washing is on to dry indoors, the sun would bleach the colours. I have podded the last of the broad beans and been out to watch my dwarf beans, courgettes, spinach growing

Yesterday I popped into my sun trap garden and the birds were silent, too hot for them

Today I need to give my kitchen a wipeover to remove the dust that landed in the strong winds yesterday, then pottering, mostly sewing/pattern related

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire. I was incredibly tired yesterday and slept as soon as my head hit the pillow. GS and SiL came round in the morning to pick up their other car, which had been in my driveway since Wednesday, and begged lunch off me which I was happy to provide. The rest of my day was spent sorting out stuff for my holiday and packing it. Today, I have my last volunteer session at school before the long holiday, then more ironing and packing.
Bellasnana I’m so sorry the news about Buzz is not as good as you’d hoped💐.

Awake very early for no good reason so will start the day slowly. Bedding and other washing plus Wonderful Cleaner, memorial service for a former neighbour this afternoon so plans for the day are in place. Can see the next few days will need to be taken at walking pace as the heat is promised for the next week or so. Much watering inevitable.

Good morning from a bright and slightly cloudy Black Country, where it rained overnight.

After a 6 mile walk with my walking group yesterday, I met DGD2 for coffee before her next lecture. She has been to University Open days the last few Saturdays, and wants to go away from home. She is not 17 until August, where did this grown up independent young lady appear from?! She and a friend travelled by train Sunday to see Sabrina Carpenter in Hyde Park. Not something I would have even contemplated at that age.

Then I had a wander around town, and bought 3 new tops!.

Today over to Mums to take her food shopping.

Off to the eye hospital today, pleased to have the appointment so soon after the last one had to be cancelled because the clinic doctor was unwell. Mr C is insisting he’ll come, I’m a bit concerned as his foot was very painful yesterday.

Belladonna, my heart goes out to you. Like you I kept hoping and in the end nature took its course, then I felt so guilty I hadn't had her put to sleep. We love our pets so much and they give so much back, some times we have to make that hard decision to spare them . Everything you are doing comes from a good place I know.
It's going to be a nice day weather wise in the Midlands before it climbs into late twenties the weekend, so will make the most of it. Just wish I could sleep beyond 4 o clock.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s a lovely sunny morning, with a cool northerly breeze blowing. I’m up early because the boiler is being serviced at 8.00. Typically I could have slept on. Yesterday I met a friend for coffee at Hyde Hall, I hadn’t seen her for a few months, so lots to catch up on. I had a quick look at the cottage garden, which was a real riot of colour!
So good to see fgt posting again, sorry that the treatment her DH is receiving is so gruelling, but hoping it’s successful.
bellasnana, what a dreadful decision to have to make, I feel for you.
Lovely photos ash, good that you were able to walk without a stick yesterday, I hope that the progress continues.
Apart from the boiler service this morning, nothing much planned for the day, I’ll visit my dementia friend this afternoon as usual. May have to do some housework!

Well, I’ve woken up with a red itchy rash on my chest and arms, I have absolutely no idea what it is or what’s causing it! I have taken an antihistamine and hopefully it’ll go quickly.

I will take tiddler out shortly, I do enjoy my very early walks, bigger dog has her dog walker.
DH is out for lunch, I’m having a steak with a big salad, looking forward to that!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a glorious morning in Cheshire. It's very calm out there after the strong winds and heavy rain in the last few days.

Woke up this morning thinking it was still raining heavily only to find it was the tinnitus in my ear! My heart sank. Not another day with loud noises!

Bellasnana so sorry to read the news about Buzz. It's very hard to know what to do for the best. Thinking of you today.

A friend is coming today to help me clear a room in preparation for a major change to the front of the house. There will be lots of mess when the builder starts,so it will get a lot worse before it gets better. Why do I do these things? Sometimes the mood just takes me.
