I have just been to the funeral of someone I once knew. It was set in a chapel but no hymns or prayers. There was some beautiful poetry, a daughter singing and playing the guitar about her loved Mum, and a slideshow of my friend’s
life. Her husband spoke of her life and what she had achieved and some of her brothers and sisters also spoke. It was very lovely but no spiritual dimension whatsoever. I was surprised because of it being in a church. Every funeral I have been to recently has been different, one of them even had Beatles music playing and we left to the strains of Yellow Submarine which was a bit weird . Is it the same in the UK or is it just here in Australia?
