*Tonight’s The Night is grim though*
Urgh, really creepy.
Rod was part of the sound track to my youth. I wished he'd stayed there. I wish I could go back to those days and unknow a lot of what I know now.
Blimey, it's creepy. And too close to home, I was divorced from a man who was coercively abusing me, police and all: this says it all, really, how men like him relate to women.
"Come on angel my hearts on fire
Don't deny your man's desire
You'd be a fool to stop this tide
Spread your wings
^ and let me come inside^,
'cause
....
Tonight's the night
It's gonna be alright
'Cause I love you girl
Ain't nobody gonna stop us now
^Don't say a word my virgin child
Just let your inhibitions run wild
The secret is about to unfold
Upstairs before the night's too old^
all there, isnt it.
(yes, I have recovered, 3 years on, living happily alone)
so I guess you might say I'm not a fan.
and to those that say, what's a song got to do with politics?
My answer is "the personal IS political" - otherwise we wouldn't have political threads on abuse of women and children
