Good morning from a dry, dawning Bristol. The early mornings are still very cold, only warming up the mid afternoon.
The “coffee morning” with the area manager of Anchor housing was interesting, to say the least. One resident has nicknamed him Teflon Bob…. He was full of platitudes, patronising and placatory, full of promises and work passed on to the poor overworked manager. She is overwhelmed with paperwork and given the blame for everything by the management.
He appeared horrified when we reported in our letter to the CEO that some repairs hadn’t been effected for over three years, then promptly passed the buck to our lovely manager. We were careful to praise her to the hilt and say that the residents’ beef wasn’t with her. I’m not holding my breath…
I then had anMU meeting to which I had been invited because I mentioned that I had been reading a fascinating book about the Dreyfus affair. They wanted me to talk about it.
In the evening, I had a Lent prayer/meditation meeting.
I was exhausted by the evening.
Today is much the same. It never rains but it pours, doesn’t it?
May you all have a peaceful day, free of pain sorrow or troubles.
