We came third in quiz, whoop, whoop, our £10 winnings went to charity. Rubbish day on the phones yesterday means I must carry on today, first time that’s happened.

Good morning all.
An early one for me as I have an appointment at my GP surgery about my knee which has become increasingly bothersome.
It has come out in sympathy with all those others in the kitchen which are also bothersome.

My GD and I are at odds over something, it is not without tension, I don’t know how to resolve it, not a good feeling and I am very low about it.
I hope “This too shall pass” is very true.

Nanny G4 many of us know about that waking and realisation hitting us suddenly, be very kind to yourself, it is such early days for you.

Today I bought a new car seat for dgs1 who has outgrown the existing one on my car. I then popped into Next for a look. Big mistake!! I bought a new table lamp which is battery powered and charged like your phone, pot pourri in the shape of pumpkins, a new reed diffuser for autumn and an autumn inspired cushion. I moved my tall bookcase to another wall and cleared out lots of book. Then I visited mum later. She was quite chatty. I had a phone call from my preferred care home offering mum a room but sadly I can't proceed until the guardianship process is done, so I had to say no. Disappointing. So a day of mixed fortunes. Soop it's nice to see Sweetie Pie. I'm off to bed now so ttfn. Have a good night

Today was my first day out ( wool shop and Lidl, nothing exciting!) after 11 days of isolation with my second dose of Covid. I've been feeling exhausted and quite befuddled, simplest tasks requiring enormous amounts of effort...which was in very short supply. I am now in ' picking up the pieces ' mode, trying to get back to some semblance of normality.

I may have caught Covid when I was visiting the Sick of the Parish two weeks ago. I quickly became ' the sick of the parish' can't believe I haven't been at Mass for nearly a fortnight.

I'm trying to catch up with all the kitchen news, I only managed to pop in briefly last week. NannyG4, thinking of you in your sorrow, it's very early days, be gentle with yourself. Thinking of Doodle and Baggs too. Love and prayers also to all who are sick or worried about loved ones, thinking of Urms, YiaYia and Dusty. Hope Blossoming is doing OK and SueD's DS is doing well. Neine, I hope your knee is improving, mine is under a bag of frozen peas at the moment!

Forgive me if I haven't mentioned you by name, my brain is still mush from Covid. 💕🙏

Hoping the sun shines for all on holiday or meeting up with family. Scapa, enjoy beautiful Jersey. I have happy memories of holidays there when the boys were young.

He looks very well considering he is feral. He is very well fed so I may well move in. I have a few places I could move to but they are all so far apart, it would involve so much travelling but if it meant I did not have to cook it would be worth it. I can wash dishes, I am not totally useless.

Sweetie Pie, our non-resident feral feline, honoured us with his presence at breakfast time. After which, he permitted me to take this photo. I asked him nicely if I may share with you lovely lot. Being a feline, he refused to comment.

A very quick visit to say I haven't forgotten or abandoned you. Work has suddenly gone crazy and my feelings haven't touched the ground for the last week or so. We've got visitors arriving and I haven't managed to change the bedding in the guest room. ( We had to sleep in there last week when our bed broke...no comment on that apart from Ddog 2 weighs 45 kilos so it wasn't all our fault as she sneaks up at every available opportunity 😂) I'll be back in for a long visit and catch up soon.

A disappointing evening Ann - one to avoid in future.
We have DGC at the moment. Mum is collecting them later. The road between our house and theirs closes today for 22 weeks for bridge repairs so we are planning routes through the tiny back lanes of Suffolk. The villagers will be up in arms!

Good night kitchen pals, a busy but thoroughly enjoyable day here today. Both DDs here and chatting to each other and my 4 DGC all together and playing happily outside in the garden. The house is now quiet and everyone asleep - phew!

MrJ came back this weekend, I don’t think he’s seen a vegetable unless there’s any in Guinness!
We’ve just spent a couple of hours in our local, charity day for Crohns and Colitis, the weather is perfect and a good turnout should mean lots of ££’s.

Made it!! Settled into our hotel in Jersey and had a lovely walk breathing in the sea air in the sunshine with a stop at a lovely pub for a refreshment🍷. Got here with no problems but no easyJet to meet us or any transport to hotel. Luckily a very kind driver from another company took pity on us and said he was going out way anyway and added us to his group. Hope we get picked up on our return at end of our holiday.

A lazy day at the Soops. The weather is sort of decent. Mr Soop rummaging in the loft. It keeps him out of mischief. I am about to pedal to nowhere on my exercise bike. I have chosen to listen to a Russel Watson disc. A little later, a game of Scrabble has been promised.
