Yes, Serendipity, a proper carry on! I got there in the end. You will too.

Serendipity 22 Before I had my current WAV I had a car fitted with a hoist through the Motability scheme. I used Des Gosling and found them extremely helpful. If you give them a call with details of what car you have and what equipment you want to load, they will advise you as to how feasible it and what you need. Unfortunately it’s not a given in all cases and can be influenced by things such as whether the boot has a lip or is a flatbed.
I had a demonstration at my home from Autochair and was assured that the car I was interested in ordering from Motability would enable me to load my small, fold down back, powered wheelchair. On the day I went to the showroom to complete the paperwork for my new car, I don’t know why, but with pen already in hand, something promoted me to ask the salesman to check once again with Autochair that the car and wheelchair was a workable combination. As it turned out, no it wasn’t. The wheelchair wouldn’t load because the vehicle had insufficient headroom due to not being a flatbed boot. Both the salesman and I had been told that the wheelchair would ‘sail in’.
Nothings ever straight forward is it?
Ohhh no !!! What a carry-on you had.. as you know from first-hand experience it is an absolute minefield.... but i so appreciate your help on this matter... i will get there in the end... ( phewwww )
Thank you 😊

We live very near Jeff Gosling and my friend has used them twice for fitting electric hoists for mobility scooters in her car on the recommendation of Ableworld from whom we both bought our scooters.
She is in Italy at the moment so I can’t ask anything else.
I know she was very happy with them .
Thank you. I am out shopping at the moment but will look into it once home....
I have changed my car to 1 that is lower than previous and it is automatic... just need to sort the problem of getting equipment in and out.
Thank you
Or maybe look at one of those roof boxes that lift it down for you?
I used to work with someone who had one and they liked it as it kept the boot free.
I hope you find something suitable.

Thank you so much. I take a look x
Jeff Gosling’s website looks promising? Different weights/boot sizes.
Im slowly losing the will to live with this problem. 😔
Right, here goes.
Firstly i don't know if I have put this thread in its correct place, please enlighten me if I haven't x.
Right, i have a small car boot and i am looking at a boot hoist to get a wheelchair in and out. I have been lifting it in and out and its certainly no lightweight ( its a 3-in-1 rollator and electric wheelchair) and i have been getting a bit of back ache... soooo considering i already have 1 health condition to deal with, as i am sure you will understand I don't want another.
I have searched the web and better searched the web till I am almost at the point of slinging my laptop through the window hahahahaha ( joke 😅 )
Any help is greatly appreciated .
