I’m nearly done with the lists now. I somehow ended up with another small shopping list yesterday for forgotten odds and sods, but I’ve finally got all I need to feed our small army, with plenty of leftovers. I’m ahead this year - all the sauces and stuffings, the nut roast, the teatime sausage rolls, veggie rolls and cake are done and in the freezer, and the china, glassware and cutlery is all sorted, so the Christmas Eve list is short. Cook the gammon, prep the potatoes, veg and starter, and sort out games for the grandsons. Two of them were over on Friday, so we tried a couple out on them (opening parcels wearing the Christmas oven gloves went down well). Then there’ll be one final list of timings for the food tomorrow.
I don’t need a list for Boxing Day. If I had one it’d be lie on sofa, switch on TV, eat leftovers fry-up as cooked by DH, open fizz and box of marzipan. And relax.
