Good morning all from Glasgow. Mild and dry here with a beautiful pink tinged sky.

A quick visit to our local shops for essentials, collect scripts then return home to have a relaxing lazy Saturday…..not forgetting the clocks go back tonight. Boo.

Hopefully a good day is ahead for all, especially those of you having the misfortune of dealing with difficult times.

Morning all, local shop planned this morning then we have The Imp and 8yr old GS’s here for a sleepover, we will probably go to the Local Turkish with them for dinner.

Gingster our GD went to a birthday party at a pottery studio I expect it’s the same one, she loved it.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not raining yet
DS3 and family are here for an open day at the college of art. I can't believe my DGC have reached that stage already. We had a lovely evening made even better when DS1 came out to join us with his family and the dog. When the "boys" get together there's much banter. But ofcourse we miss their dad.

Today for me the usual community café. I baked yesterday. This afternoon the Gaelic café.

It’s the first day for a week I haven’t needed to be up early and was awake by 7! Oh well!
Bed stripped and laundry on. Croissants and coffee mid morning. Some pottering, some gardening , some knitting will fill my day. Happy not to be rushing about after a busy week.

Morning everyone from a dull and damp north Kent.

My jury duty stint continues into next week; the judge hopes it will conclude on Monday, but I won’t be surprised if it goes into Tuesday. There has been a lot of waiting around in the jury room whilst the court debates various points of order, although we wonder if the legal teams are popping out for a coffee break! It has been a very interesting experience seeing how justice is administered, but surprised at how long everything takes.

Hoping to get out later for a walk, but in the meantime will do some really exciting things like washing and hoovering!

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry, seems a bit milder. Just been reading about Noddy Holder. Inspiring story. Himself has the same diagnosis and shares the same consultant at The Christie.

Noddy: 'One thing I will say is that the consultant told me that it wasn't a lifestyle thing. Anyone can get this.'

Imagine being the medic charged with trying to save Noddy Holder's life. Was Professor Mansoor, from The Christie hospital in Manchester, a fan? 'I think he was more of a Bruce Springsteen guy.'

Uplifted me anyway this morning. I cling to any positives.

Good morning all. It's still raining on the Angus coast, and it's expected to get worse tomorrow. AND the clocks go back tonight! So much excitement in one weekend is almost too much to take. Sigh.
So glad you've spoken to someone at last about your problems Mick - I hope you find an improvement soon now.

Just had word from DS2 that his father-in-law has been admitted to hospital for palliative care. So sad, and at (I think) only 74, too young.

Yesterday spent ages trying to get a refund from northern rail. Eventually went down to the station and got a form to fill in - is it worth it, I ask myself? Then on to the hospital to have a done density scan - I’ll get the results in SIX MONTHS! Well I’m only 28 years late getting the scan! I should have had it shortly after moving from Aberdeen! Today, another shot at getting a refund from northern rail, complaining about the Alendronic Acid tablet I nearly choked on this morning, receiving my shopping from Sainsburies that I missed on Thursday. Sorting my shopping for next Thursday, getting winter coats down from the attic and flaking out!

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton; will look at the weather forecast and then decide whether to pop into town or not to change some leggings I bought last week - need a bigger size, sadly! Will also get wrapping paper and a gift bag for elder DGD's birthday in a couple of weeks.

No local rugby this weekend, it's an away match in Newcastle tomorrow, but will be watching the World Cup final on tv tonight: I am going to support the All Blacks. Watched the semi-final last night which England just won by the skin of their teeth; I thought the Pumas (Argentina) played really well.

Listening to Tony Blackburn 's Sounds of the Sixties on Alexa catch-up as I write this - happy memories of student days!

Must stir myself and get ready for the day. Wishing all a good weekend.

I am sorry you are having another one of “those days” Grandmattie , I and many here will know exactly where you are coming from.
It made me realise though when I was in your sort of frame of mind last week at this time, how dreadful it must be for those who cannot even believe there is an “end to the tunnel,” let alone see the light at it. “Family” time, half terms, like weekends and Sundays in particular bring home the loneliness to those of us in that position- too far perhaps to visit, or they may be busy with their own thing, “granny duty” no longer needed , our own activities paused- like Mondays, it can be a relief to get back to normal!
Perhaps we need to use GN more when we are lonely? Soop’s Kitchen is always a welcoming space, or PM a sympathetic ear.

So, clocks back -here’s a handy guide
Alternatively whilst we get an extra hours sleep on Sunday, spare a thought for the English Heritage Volunteers who work tirelessly through the night to move the stones back 1 hour at various stone circles around the country side. This is done twice a year to make sure the stones align correctly with the sun.

Urms, my brother-in-law had the same diagnosis just before lockdown, after chemo and radiotherapy followed by surgery he is completely clear, and leading his usual active life. Wishing the same for your dear husband. xx

It was lovely to stop at Funchal at first light and to STOP MOVING. The North Atlantic is wild atm and I had another awful night. Our cabin creaks and groans all the time - never had this before. On a sightseeing trip later. About 20°c atm.

Good morning from a grey, damp NE.
Had a lovely few hours with my friend, nice lunch and a bottle of wine.
I don't think DS and GD will be visiting today, DIL has covid again and DS has a sore throat and cough but not yet tested positive. Elder GD was supposed to be going to Sheffield University for an open day but that is on hold too.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon and we will have a good natter.
The bus drivers in our region are on strike indefinitely, taxi drivers must be rubbing their hands.

A late Good Morning to you Mick and everyone from sunny but very chilly Carlisle.
I've been out for a walk through the park to get the weekend paper from the local convenience store. Only dog walkers about early. One pair of them had a large dog....and he was only 5 months old! A friend of his came along, same breed, huge! Apparently they don't need long walks in spite of the size.
Back to do not much, certainly not in the cleaning line. I may pootle about in the garden later, otherwise it will be idling on the computer and reading the papers. Hopefully, a good film this evening.
Yesterday it was up to the hospital to have ECG equipment fitted. Unlike the neat little device used by the private clinic in the summer. the poor NHS still uses the older versions. I am clad in dangling cables and a box that clips on at the waist. This makes visiting the bathroom tricky!
glammagran, on a former cruise, one of the ship's officers reckoned the North Atlantic was the roughest ocean, excluding the Drake Passage to Antarctica of course. I hope things calm down for you all very soon.

A ridiculously late Good Morning from Durham. I hope the clocks going back will, some how, help my sleep pattern - it’s all over the shop!
At least it’s dry-ish here - about time, poor DD2 has spent a fortune on pumpkin events for DGS2 that have been too wet and muddy to attend. Yesterdays ‘washout’ turned out into playing here with Grandma.
DD1 arrived safely in Turkey and was upgraded - win win.
A home day here with DD2’s laundry, some sorting out and a couple of emails to compose and send.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
My sister from London and I are feeling very delicate today after meeting up with old friends in the city last night. Much merrymaking and we ended up taking a taxi (20 miles) as we missed the last train, unusual for me, but I couldn’t drag her away😁 She’s off again tonight to meet an old boyfriend (she’s divorced) and I will happily have a quiet night in after being on my feet for hours on end and even dancing💃🏻

I hope the new regime works Mick and thoughts to Urms Gingster and anyone with worries of any kind.

Good afternoon Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy here in Lancashire, currently 11°C. I’m late this morning, I have been ill all night and not slept very much. Found another thing I must add to my list of “Things I Must Never Eat or Drink Again”. I had planned to photograph the Hallowe’en celebrations at the railway museum, but that’s out of the question for today. The celebrations continue tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to get some pics then.
