Hate summer

I’m immunosupressed and although used to love the sun I just can’t go out in it over 20 degrees as really drains me and makes me feel nauseous and dizzy I love it though for hanging the washing on the line

Used to love hot summer days except for the hayfever but for last few years I find the heat pretty hard to cope with, another old age thing I expect. Spring is my favourite season now.

I love the summer, just seems so long in getting started.
Remember as a child in the ‘50’s and 60’s the long hot summers, they seemed to go on for months.
We get a few days of hot weather now and everyone screams of global warming. More like we’re heading for another ice age imo.

I dread hot weather, just don’t understand the appeal. I don’t like being woken at 4.30 a.m. by the light, and I prefer it dark by about 7 or 8 pm. I also much prefer winter clothes (too old now to look good in summer ones). So, I don’t like summer!

Agreed! Anything more than 21/22*C and I am a sweaty mess!

Also prefer the colder weather as I can cover up - when you’ve looked 8 months pregnant for 15 years, summer clothes don’t do it!

One bonus has been that my Lupin and Philadelphus are magnificent!

I love summer.
Free heating.
Leave vest off.
Peg washing on line outside.

love the summer we only get 2 months sun here yet folk complain when 10 months are grey! at least you save on energy bills when its hot

I love all the seasons of the year and right now I am really enjoying summer and the hot weather. Yes, it is a bind keeping cool sometimes, but I remember struggling to keep warm in the winter while dreading my heating bill! We have bright early mornings and long lazy evenings which cheer my soul. I realise for some it is a trial of endurance (my mum felt that way as she got older) but for me it is joy and freedom. But come September, I’ll be happily contemplating the beauty of Autumn and looking forward to the season of goodwill (won’t mention the ‘C’ word!).

Jane we are lucky if we get two months We are still freezing here on the east coast although the sun has come out today but the east wind is still so cold I would so love to warm my bones up all I hear on the tv/ radio are heat warnings and we still have our hot water bottles and jumpers on

Like germanshepherdsmum, I too live in North Norfolk. I don't like heatwaves, never have, but whilst the rest of the country seems to be having summer weather, here the warmest it's been to date is 15°. No chance of overheating in that 😂

I love the summer months for the long, light days and wearing less clothes. However, I don't like it too hot and airless as it is then difficult for my Boxer dog, being short nosed. Walks in the very early morning (young deer joined me the other day) and late evening when it is cooler. We have still got quite a cold wind here in the Brecon Beacons, but just nice in sheltered spots.

I managed my hayfever at first but had to take an antihistamine two days ago. I slept on and off for 24 hrs! They all affect me this way.
I remember one winter when I had been sleepless for a few nights. The pharmasist wasn't at all happy when I asked for hay fever tablets in winter!

I have been so cold the last couple of weeks and it wasn't until
yesterday that I ventured to sit in the garden, with a jacket round me. So looking forward to a warm weekend.

I never feel normal until at least 28 degrees.

This summer has been lovely, cool, beautiful flowers, veg growing well.

I absolutely love the summer and I am grateful every morning when I wake up that the fine weather and light evenings are here. Feeling cold makes me miserable!

It's wonderful to see the sun, feel the warmth and enjoy the bright atmosphere. I love it - but not the sticky horrible weather with humidity and unbearable temperatures that July and August can bring; it's too hot to do anything. Even being in the garden feels like standing under a grill. Today is perfect - if only the whole summer were like this.

I love summer. That is why when my husband retired we we went to Spain for the winter.

It has been warm where I am for the last two weeks it's lovely
just warm enough with a gentle breeze. It cheers me up when it is sunny although I think there is a huge pollen bomb coming our way so must get some hay fever tablets. Everything has a downside I suppose.

I love all four seasons where I live in the US (Great Lakes region) with Spring and Fall my favorites.

I don’t “hate” summer, nor winter - just can’t tolerate extreme heat/humidity or extreme cold/snow/ice at my age. I’ve turned into a middling person.

What I do like about warm weather is not having to bundle up to stave off chills and cold. There’s nothing like the freedom of wearing fewer looser breezy clothes. And being outdoors.

Hate, is probably not the right word for me, but it is my least favourite season, temperature wise. However I love how the garden looks, getting the washing dry and throwing open the doors, to let the outside in, so I'm some ways i must love it, but I'd prefer feeling cool!

I get on with it and I never moan, but I am much more of an Autumn, spring and Winter person. It is much easier to get warm than it is to cool down. There never seems to be a happy medium, its either raining or too hot. I have very fair so have to stay out of it, I get bad hay fever and bugs seem to love my blood. I am not a sit around kind of person I am very active so cooler weather suits me best. Although no heating bills is good.
I do love the nature that goes with summer though, watching a sparrow feed her baby chic as I write this.

Warm weather creates more washing, consolation being at least it dries outside. Long sunny days nowadays are a nightmare with folk and their BBQs and firepits. Smoke and more smoke. Then there is the noiseand I don't mean music but the loud incessant chatter in gardens. Why can't people not just speak in a soft calm voice to one another instead of almost shouting like they do on phones when outside. I am convinced a lot of young people have hearing issues. The grass seems to forever need cutting and weeds never ending. I prefer September through to early spring.

Im still in my winter clothes! Resorted to puting heating on for a bit the last two evenings. It would be nice to go out without a coat so im looking forward to a bit of warmth this weekend.
