Favourite Human Beings

I was at a conference a few years ago and Jane Goodall was one of the speakers. Everyone was so excited and the conference hall was really full. Sadly, it was the most boring talk ever. Everyone was so surprised and disappointed. We had all presumed she would be talking about her fascinating life, but sadly she didn't.

I heard Ranulph Fiennes speak a few years ago - what an inspiration.
The programme John Simpson, Ranulph Fiennes and Robin Knox Johnson made where each took the others on an adventure in their specialist area is one of my favourite ever pieces of TV.

Afraid I don’t know Jane Goodall
Not sure I have any famous favourite people apart fromNelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu who are both long gone

Famous people, Bob Mortimer, he makes me smile and seems such a nice person

Family of course and Sir David but also the King and Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales and family, Joanna Lumley but although I admire many musicians and actors not necessarily favourite persons.

Family of course, but then definitely David Attenborough and Chris Packham. Anyone who teaches me about nature.
And King Charles, a much maligned man in spite of all the good he has tried to do.
A woman I admire is Dolly Parton for her strength of character and philanthropy. Also Jane Fonda.
Zelensky right now for his determination to stand up to the bully.

I second Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, also Thich Nhat Hahn and Dalai Lama (only one now alive sadly)

Jane Goodall is the world expert on Chimpanzees and set up a conservation institute.
She still tours, giving lectures encouraging people to make the world a better place.
Yes, I will include Jane Goodall on my list of very favourite people.

All four of my grandchildren.......my heart swells when I think of them, such beautiful human beings.

Deborah Meaden. I’ve never watched Dragons Den but over the last few years I’ve really come to like and respect her. And Hayley Campbell who’s on my current favourite podcast Must Watch. I just agree with everything she talks about, even down to the fact that she has a murder if crows in her garden that she feeds. And ( again from podcasts) Melvyn Bragg, Greg Jenner and Rory Stewart. David Attenborough of course.

I couldn't claim as favourite someone I don't know personally. I would have to mention my family and friends. I would never favour one son or grandchild above the rest and, happily, can include my sons' parners.

henetha agree about King Charles. Also David Attenborough, Chris Packham, Brian May and anyone who speaks up for nature.

Of course family and friends are our favourites but I did realise what you meant. 😀
But, as a discussion, that won't take us far.

I'll add Brian May to the list of people I admire.

Family of course, but in the public eye I’d have to say Rafael Nadal who seems to be a truly good person.
