Tupperware Jelly moulds

I stll use the rolling pin that you fill with ice .Its 47 years old ,the same age as my moulinex blender and thats been used almost every day since we got married

I'm still using the flour canisters, Nannagarra, hope they are ok. The lids are fine and the seal good.
These aren't mine btw (for sale on Ebay, £2.29 bid so far!).

Like you Callistemon21 I wondered about BPA so I jettisoned the double decker dessert maker described here, two rice makers and two ice lolly kits.
Tupperware was robust but the lids, I often found, shrank.
I also had jelly moulds from a company in Diss, having saved the coupons when the children were young, and various ice cube trays amassed over the years.
It was so sad to part with them. Maybe I was overly cautious.

I've made lots of those lovely puds eg Charlotte Russe, summer pudding, tiramisu but never in the Tupperware mould.

Must dig it out again and try again ?

I did buy one at one of those dreaded Tupperware parties. Oh the pressure, the guilt trip talk- hated it. And things were so expensive too. But of course this mould is still going on.

A friend lives in a country in Europe where they have now got 'special 'parties- based on the principle and the name, They are called F***erware parties.

I had one I used constantly when my children were young haven’t used it for ages so I donated it to charity. I know it will be used it’s the type of thing that will always be useful.

I still use my mould often. Summer pudding. Rice inverted on plate. Fruit and ice ring for punch. Ice cream inverted on fruit galette.

I'll try it for tiramisu, next time someone comes round.

I still use the butter dish, which was my mum’s and the cheese dish, but DH prefers to leave the cheese in the plastic re-sealable wrappers, he thinks it keeps better.

Oh the good old days,very happy memories with my mom in the kitchen,you can`t beat tupperware,even though it was a little pricey.

I've only just thrown the butter dish away as I thought the brown plastic was degrading slightly.
We still use the cheese container which matched and the flour containers which just took a 3lb bag of flour.

I have wondered if they're safe and BPA free but probably not. ?

How odd recently bought one on Ebsy. £10 including delivery. And it was to make a raspberry Charlotte using sponge fingers.

Maw no parties anymore - but Tupperware is still available to purchase on line.

I had one of those many years ago, then donated it to a charity shop. Bought another from a charity shop, when we were on holiday, a few years ago. Then looking in the cupboard last night, not there, so I must have donated it again, as I can't find it now.

Oh Tupperware! ?? I do miss it.
I loved the jelly/mousse ring for the inevitable egg and salmon mousse for summer lunch or dinner parties ! And all the matching lids.
You could never have enough, could you? I used to be amazed at the amount people would buy at Tupperware parties particularly as the stuff lasted a lifetime.
Somehow its “modern” equivalents- Lock&Lock boxes etc - just don’t match up.
And how better to get to know our new neighbours when we moved to the village than at a Tupperware party!

I donated mine to a charity shop 2 years ago when my kitchen was refitted. I hadn't used it for decades and didn't use it much even when it was new.

Just had a look. Four top lids and a serving plate at the back of the drawer. Second Christmas Day pudding sorted .

I've still got one but haven't used it for years.

Perhaps I should try something more sophisticated than the mousse I used to make for the DC - evaporated milk whisked until frothy then a jelly (cold but not set) poured slowly in, still whisking.

I had never heard of this before but found what you have all written very interesting. I looked on eBay and there’s lots of these moulds on there so I might buy one and have a go myself.

Oh Fleurpepper a tiramisu sounds fabulous I would love to know how you get on.

I think I shall try and make a tiramisu in it! With a star on top!

It looks like I have all the lids you describe and also a Christmas tree a star and a heart too, also a serving plate. I’m going to make it tomorrow. So excited. Thank you I knew I could count on all you fabulous gransnetters for the answer.
