I think she is the same lady who sat behind them at the Jubilee Concert yesterday. Oh thank goodness she has woken up.

My friend, who at the time was the new mother of twins, slept for an hour and a half, while in the front row at a Status Quo gig

I slept through most of the David Steel abortion bill debate whilst at the Houses of Parliament, I dont understand what happened and am mortified to this day. It was a really important subject and I was very interested as I had never seen a debate live before.

I'm afraid I fall asleep at events unless my attention is kept going. Speeches, seminars, anything like that and I can't keep my eyes open. This event is noisy but is it enough to keep her mind working? Probably not.

I used to fall asleep in evening lectures at college. It became so automatic that as soon as I sat down in the lecture theatre I was off. Didn't matter whether the lecture was interesting or not. Someone would usually thump me if I started snoring!

Anyone else getting fed up with the words “ amazing” and “ incredible” in the commentary of the pageant ? Claire Balding has just suggested some alternatives, I am pleased to hear.

I’m quite envious and wish I could fall asleep like that! I struggle to sleep even if I’m bone tired. My DH would get on a flight, adjust his watch and be asleep before take off.

Maybe she has sleep apneaia...One of my friends fell asleep regularly when we were out for lunch...The rest of the group just got used to it and carried on chatting and eating....She would wake up and just join in again...

I dropped off under the drier in the days before blow-dry became commonplace. The GC usually had to nudge me when I slept peacefully in the cinema. I even fell asleep while an A-level class did a piece of writing I'd set.

The noise is horrendous.

I know! The scanner team thought it was hilarious. I usually control my breathing and use visualisation to pretend I haven’t got my head stuffed in a tin can with people bashing hammers along the sides. I must be getting good at it!

On yes please no more 'Incredibles' and 'Amazings's those interviews sent me to sleep.

I can drop asleep on a washing line I slept through the whole of a Harry Potter film once (don’t like him anyway) the grandkids thought it hilarious

I fell asleep in the scanner too - and it was the mobile unit so my feet were stuck in the outside bit and, despite thick socks, freezing cold. I can never get to sleep in my bed with cold feet.

I assumed the lady must have been jet-lagged. I'm lousy at recognising faces and most of the famous on parade were unknown to me. Is she a politician?

FannyC I know this is an old post but I'm having one this afternoon and I can't do loud noise. Is it constant?
I'm dreading it. The claustrophobic scanner is bad enough. ?

Tell the radiologist how nervous you are. They will calm you.
I was lucky that my radiologist was my friends daughter so I felt as if I had a friend there with me.
But remember: your having this procedure for a reason.
It will soon pass.
