Who one earth is he please anybody? He seems to think he speaks for the nation.....isn't he on X factor?

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 22:31:00

lucywinter contradicted yourself. You were the one who said the jump from talking about who decides what is unsayable to talk of black men being lynched was only unfathomable to someone unable to think rationally.

There are laws governing what we can and can’t say and I’m not aware that PM has ever been taken to court for being racist or “saying the unsayable”.
I don’t watch GMB and I’m not in the slightest bit interested in the twitterati so I don’t follow PM but obviously you do. Strange, seeing as you dislike him and his outpourings. Try watching something else.

not a stopped clock is right twice a day and absolutely no use at all - bit like old Piers

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 22:35:58

You just don’t get it ticking do you? If only racism were that simple.

lucywinter Tue 14-Jan-20 22:38:26

tickingbird I'm sorry. I can't follow what you are saying. I have never mentioned, or given a thought to, in this context, black men being lynched.

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 22:41:22

Welcome to my world lucy.

growstuff Tue 14-Jan-20 22:43:34

And let's not forget why the Daily Mirror sacked him. I guess trying to blame British soldiers for something he knew they didn't do and faking a picture is perfectly acceptable. It's just entertainment, after all angry.

Bridgeit Tue 14-Jan-20 22:45:53

Suzziewozzie, Piers Morgan is white & powerful & considers himself part of AN Establishment within in which he can say what he likes & doesn’t care who he offends .

bylinetimes.com/2019/10/21/major-james-hewitt-sues-piers-morgans-daily-mirror-for-phone-hacking/

Major James Hewitt is currently suing Mirror Group Newspapers and will focus on a time when Piers Morgan was editor.

Well let's throw Deborah Meaden's Twitter question into the arena for a mauling. This had some interesting answers with some very interesting reasons for them!

growstuff Wed 15-Jan-20 01:28:46

Did you mean this thread?

tickingbird Wed 15-Jan-20 06:17:54

* suziewoozie

You just don’t get it ticking do you? If only racism were that simple*

It is that simple though. Prejudice based on skin colour or race.

My point though is how has this thread been turned into a race issue. PM has been having a go at Meghan because she ghosted him from what I gather. Ahh - lightbulb moment - he’s obviously racist then, M being bi racial. I note there’s an upcoming trial and apparently M’s father will be giving evidence - if true is he racist? Hmm?

Chestnut Wed 15-Jan-20 09:18:48

Sorry Growstuff I don't know if that's the same thread. I'm not a Twitterer, I just took a look and saw Deborah Meaden had put that question out there.

Chestnut Wed 15-Jan-20 09:27:38

Agreed Tickingbird and if anyone can find any evidence of PM being racist then let's have it. I don't think you'll find any because he isn't. Having a spat with someone with a different skin colour does not make you racist....he has spats with lots of white people too!

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7890609/PIERS-MORGAN-Thomas-Markles-anguished-texts-Meghan-Harry-heartless-pair.html

Like him or loathe him - and I never watch him on telly, I have to say I completely agree with this article.

Bridgeit Wed 15-Jan-20 16:48:37

Why or Are , are the public allowed to read court evidence as stated by Piers Morgan?

maddyone Wed 15-Jan-20 20:00:47

Thank you for that link Merlot, it’s very informative.

Bridgeit, it’s because court proceedings are public unless the judge decides otherwise. It’s part of being a democratic and open society.

Bridgeit Wed 15-Jan-20 20:23:14

Thanks Maddyone

lucywinter Thu 16-Jan-20 10:55:18

So, it's true that her father had emergency heart treatment days before the wedding. Can't blame him for not coming then can you!

merlotgran Thu 16-Jan-20 10:58:55

I thought it was a stunt at the time but then we wanted to believe Meghan, didn't we?

maddyone Thu 16-Jan-20 11:02:16

According to the texts that are released Thomas Markle was advised to not make the long flight to Britain so soon after his surgery Lucy. So the newspaper reports are true, he couldn’t attend the wedding for medical reasons. It doesn’t excuse Meghan’s and even Harry’s treatment of him since. I could never have treated my in laws in such a way.

maddyone Thu 16-Jan-20 11:06:30

I didn’t know what to make of it at the time Merlot, but I thought it was despicable that he was then cut out of her life completely. I also couldn’t understand how Harry could behave with such little respect towards his father in law. So it appears the newsletters got it right, but I have no idea what Piers Morgan had to say on the subject.

growstuff Thu 16-Jan-20 11:42:21

None of us knows what's happened in the past in that family. Piers Morgan has been taunting Meghan many times about her father. For all any of us knows, she has a very genuine reason for not wanting to keep in contact with him. Piers Morgan has become obsessed.

growstuff Thu 16-Jan-20 11:44:16

The Daily Mail and Piers Morgan only have one side of the story. Don't forget that Harry and Meghan are currently suing them. Of course, the DM is going to push its own case.

growstuff Thu 16-Jan-20 11:45:39

I wonder how much Meghan's father has been paid for his story.

growstuff Thu 16-Jan-20 11:47:43

Yes, Chestnut it was the same thread.
