Who one earth is he please anybody? He seems to think he speaks for the nation.....isn't he on X factor?

ExperiencedNotOld Tue 14-Jan-20 18:35:06

I never watch GMB so never see him giving voice live. I do read his Daily Mail articles and sometimes find an element of sense. It’s all front, it’s how he earns his living.

Harris27 Tue 14-Jan-20 18:38:41

Horrible man!

Iam64 Tue 14-Jan-20 18:46:25

"its all a front, it how he earns his living"

Oh that's ok then, being offensive, bullying people and saying the unsayable, all acceptable if its how he earns his living.
Just like his friend Katie Hopkins

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 19:02:17

Iam64

Who decides what's unsayable?

lucywinter Tue 14-Jan-20 19:09:46

Not a case of 'who'. More a case of 'it'.

Common decency.

Iam64 Tue 14-Jan-20 19:28:37

tickingbird- I'm with lucywinter, it's more a case of 'it' , ie common decency.
I've read Trump supporters, racists here in the Uk, repeating the view that they have been silenced, not had a voice. That's what happened to white supremicists who thought it wrong that lynching black men was no longer acceptable.
Their desire to speak out loud their bigoted views became unacceptable.

ExperiencedNotOld Tue 14-Jan-20 19:40:41

Iam64 - I never said being offensive etc was okay. I just intimated that it’s done to attract attention. People will view to hate him as much as view to love him. That’s showbiz....

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 19:41:59

Lucywinter, Iam64 - you are both unbelievable. I ask the question "Who decides what's unsayable". You say common decency and go on to talk about black men being lynched by white supremacists. The jump from one to the other is unfathomable. This thread is about Piers Morgan and to my knowledge he has never said anything about lynching black people or be known for any kind of racism.

We have the good fortune to live in a very tolerant country and free speech is precious and yet, you sit here as judge and jury and think you have the right to censor others and decide what's acceptable or not. I'm afraid I can no longer take you seriously.

Meghan didn't use Piers Morgan to climb to the top. By his own admission, Meghan only contacted him after she'd met Prince Harry. She had already had a successful career and met her "prince charming". She didn't need Morgan for that.

Piers Morgan makes his money out of being obnoxious controversial. Once he had made a major contribution to turning Meghan into a hate figure, he could write what he wanted because people are hungry for the gossip and he confirms their opinion, however weak his evidence. He could write that she boils kittens for fun and it wouldn't surprise me if some people believed it.

He didn't need any reason to turn against Meghan. Being able to boast that he'd met her was a golden opportunity for him to feed his ego and make money.

growstuff Tue 14-Jan-20 20:13:57

The "jump" is only unfathomable to people who don't think rationally.

BradfordLass72 Tue 14-Jan-20 20:21:52

harrigran You read it on Wikipedia so it must be gospel

In fact, if you read my post I mentioned the references - not just Wikipedia itself.

When I research something, or someone, I look at multiple sources and I found very little in PMs favour: just a catalogue of dishonesty, lies and hate-mongering.

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 20:30:02

No growstuff it’s unfathomable to anyone able to think logically and for themselves. To anyone with an agenda it’s an opportunity to divert open discussion into something else entirely different. An opportunity to bully and hector anyone with an opinion which doesn’t conform to a particular mindset. It’s disgusting how you and others have twisted this thread into something it isn’t. Get over yourselves. You can’t win with your arguments so you revert to type - again - and bring racism and lynching into a thread about Piers Morgan. You couldn’t make it up!!

Except you lot do!!

Oopsminty Tue 14-Jan-20 20:33:25

I find those who are so vicious with their comments on PM and others are as bad as those they lambast

ExperiencedNotOld Tue 14-Jan-20 21:35:48

Why are those (same few) posters so repeatedly argumentative and confrontational? They criticise Piers Morgan but are they also not as guilty of similar messaging?
He gets paid well for it. How can the ‘difficult’ posters justify their stance?

growstuff Tue 14-Jan-20 22:10:44

In what way are those same few posters guilty of similar messaging?

How is being well paid for something justification?

What a sad world we've become, where people are so shallow.

growstuff Tue 14-Jan-20 22:12:41

Where did I bring racism into the argument tickingbird?

I have no intention of getting over myself. I think Piers Morgan and his ilk are despicable and I'm not going to be dragged down to their level of morality.

growstuff Tue 14-Jan-20 22:13:34

He makes money out of bullying people and there are people who would cheer him on.

lucywinter Tue 14-Jan-20 22:13:49

Up to you whether you take me seriously or not tickingbird. I stand by my opinion of Piers Morgan.

No idea about lynching, white supremacists, or anything of that ilk. confused (sorry Iam64)

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 22:17:52

Oops ?

lucywinter Tue 14-Jan-20 22:19:30

Is that a biscuit or a football?

lucywinter Tue 14-Jan-20 22:20:32

Sorry! Oops is someone's name isn't it? I thought it was a comment.

growstuff Tue 14-Jan-20 22:23:59

Just a very small collection of Piers Morgan's tweets to Meghan. He really is obsessed.

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 22:28:58

I take back all my negative comments re PM as I’ve just read a whole slew of tweets from him where he absolutely lambasts Carey and Charles for their support of Peter Ball. Say what you like about old Piers he’s willing to sock it to white powerful men of the Establishment.

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 22:29:44

lucy it’s a very very big biscuit

notanan2 Tue 14-Jan-20 22:30:56

He's not nice. He's also not always wrong.
