i am temporarily following this issue with M&H despite being anti Royal...so could not resist putting up a new thread as things develop.
This will be a first for the Royals for sure.

There is more information appearing now on M & H
M wants to continue where she left off with her career and can now ask to be paid in eye watering amounts of money.
That is their plan
She will do it by flogging her Royal status.

Is this really allowed?
Her and H can be in an advert and then seen wearing the product.
This is what they meant by modernising the monarchy.
Tacky is an understatement.

What do others on Gransnet think?

She might pull down the whole House of Cards.

And they were not pushed they have been planning all this for over a year.

Also they have to find about being Taxed, here and in US and possibly Canada, A new world for H.

It's very interesting that you seem to know exactly what's in The Mail Gagajo although you wouldn't even so much spit on it let alone read it!
At least what you think is in The Mail although you must read it to know much of what goes into that extreme right-wing rag

I'm very working class
Oh, that hadn't come across at all before now in your posts. Sorry if I have misread you until now.

I think, like many of us M0nica has said she reads your bête noir occasionally and other rags including the Guardian occasionally too.
People do like to read diverse publications in order to make up their own minds.

Precisely Lemon.
Meghan was welcomed by the majority of the British people, they were happy that the little boy who walked behind his mother’s coffin had found a beautiful, lively woman to love him. They hoped for them to be happy. Perhaps we all ignored some of the soundings coming from across the pond, people who had known Meghan who stated bluntly that she drops people as soon as they no longer are useful to her, stories of sending her wedding ring back to her ex husband (very cruel) and her abandonment of her sick, if foolish father (cruel) and that from young adulthood Meghan craved fame and wealth, and was looking for a wealthy English man. And so on. But we all wanted Harry to be happy, and were happy for him. The wedding was a huge success, despite the strangeness of her having only her mother and celebrities as guests, despite Harry having never met her father (he still hasn’t) and despite the reported Catherine/Meghan tiff, and despite the disagreement over which tiara she would wear (what Meghan wants, Meghan gets.) Indeed, what Meghan wants, Meghan gets, and it’s my opinion that what she wants now is to isolate Harry from his family, just as she is isolated from hers, and she wants to make millions from trading on the SussexRoyal name. She has her fame and wealth now, but will she make Harry happy long term? Will he enjoy being estranged from his brother, and far away from his family? Will he be happy with a celebrity lifestyle, having more or less given up his birthright and his country? My guess is no, but I hope that he will be, because I remember the little boy walking behind his mother’s coffin.

I can't see how this dual role of a foot in two lands will work? I don't think M can bear this Country any longer and I cannot see her coming back - especially with a baby that the Queen has a claim upon. He will have to go to school so they have to settle somewhere - and it wont be London and I bet he isn't down for Eton.

SirChenjin, all of your posts on this subject reflect my opinion exactly, and I suspect, the opinions of a great many of other people in the UK.

The Nazi lovers were Wallis Simpson and Edward. Another pair who thought they could get the best of all worlds without any thought for others and that all went pear shaped. Another schemer who came badly unstuck.

MM has ruthlessly social climbed her way to the top dumping each layer as she goes including her own family. Now
that she’s there wants to make all the rules to suit herself. They gave a list of ten royals they would work with deliberately leaving Catherine off the list. Jealous and spiteful!

I hope William will be forgiving enough to support Harry when the s**t hits the fan! Poor sad sucker! What Meghan wants Meghan gets! The alimony payments will be stupendous. Poor little Archie.

At least we will be spared from more announcements that there will be no announcements!

Anne and Edward have managed to balance their public life and private lives and so have Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips but living quietly under the radar is not part of Meghan’s plan. They ordered all their “stock” in March and were supposed to be working with the RF to step back until they unleashed their bombshell.

maddyone Sun 12-Jan-20 17:56:10

Jolbook, I suspect Archie will go to school in Canada. I feel sorry for him because he is being denied his birthright, meaning the love and support of all of his family on both sides. No aunts, uncles, cousins, and only one grandma, as he’ll rarely, if ever, see Prince Charles/Camilla.

jo1book Sun 12-Jan-20 18:02:31

What's all this about a list of Royals they would work with?

annsixty Sun 12-Jan-20 18:08:21

That was in the statement they issued.

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:09:11

I hadn't hears that either jolbrook

If true, that is extremely presumptuous!
Harry may find he is no longer on anyone's list.

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:10:01

Thanks annsixty

Well, it is true then and breathtakingly arrogant.

jo1book Sun 12-Jan-20 18:11:56

Well who was on the list?

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 18:12:47

I think Catherine comes under the heading over “all relevant parties”. They’re going to continue to “Collaborate Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties”. How jolly magnanimous of them grin

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 18:13:03

Heading of

jo1book Sun 12-Jan-20 18:13:57

Cheeky buggers

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:15:09

Oh, I see, it is those in the throne and in direct line above him.

And all relevant parties
Does that include us, the British public whose taxes have funded them?

I was rather sympathetic but am losing patience now.

Callistemon Sun 12-Jan-20 18:15:28

On the throne not in it

merlotgran Sun 12-Jan-20 18:15:55

Where can we see this list?

moggie57 Sun 12-Jan-20 18:17:29

i cant see the marriage lasting myself .ok they should move to canada but no more money from the royal family .after all they got their own millions and they must pay for their own security too.really feel for h ,as he had only known m a year .not long enough to find out her traits good or bad. usa/canada not like britain with traditions...

Sussexborn Sun 12-Jan-20 18:57:17

MM is also accusing the U.K. of racist behaviour towards her! What next I wonder?

I didn’t have any particular feeling about them until their hypocrisy about green issues. Lecturing the world and then taking four journeys in Elton’s private jet over a couple of weeks.

If they get their wish their announcements will no longer be published so we will have to live our lives without them telling us how to live.

OH has just said that he didn’t miss them whilst they were away and doesn’t think he will in the future!

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 19:10:06

I hope you’ve trademarked your username there Sussex - that’s a perfect one for Archie!

maddyone Sun 12-Jan-20 20:01:33

SirChenjin grin

rubysong Sun 12-Jan-20 21:17:08

They can't plead racism. Look at the way everyone cheered them at the wedding and how everyone welcomed her mother. We were hoping she would come over here to live. If people have lost patience it is because of their behaviour, nothing to do with her race.

SirChenjin Sun 12-Jan-20 21:44:40

Of course it’s not racism - but they need something to pin the blame on. Nothing to do with their dubious behaviour of course, oh no...

Sussexborn Mon 13-Jan-20 00:17:56

My name choice might land me in trouble like the man who thought he had the rights to “Royal” as it was his trademark! Was surprised that it could be taken back once established but MM proving once more that what Meghan wants Meghan gets.

I think the implied blackmail threat about Harry doing a tell all interview would backfire badly on them. What a nasty way to treat your grandma and father.

With the benefit of hindsight MM having only one family member at her wedding should have been a warning sign. So much now points to the favourite MN topics of narcissism and going no contact.

M0nica Mon 13-Jan-20 08:53:08

This is so beginning to read like a rerun of Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson, even though Prince Harry is a long way down the succession list.

The choices ahead of them seem to be a pointless exile and useless life in a foreign country, like Edward VIII and wife in France, in fact I think this is what -will- happen to Harry, there is no other option. Edward VIII also saw himself as continuing to be able to represent the crown in various ways after his abdication. They did make him Governor of Barbados, but only to get him away from his Nazi chums during the war, otherwise he might have been interned, but otherwise he was right out of it.

If the marriage fails Meghan will end up like Fergy, a member of the demi-mondaine, wandering around the edges of society in the US, trying to get some money where she can and struggling to stay solvent as her interest to the public wanes. She will probably ending up like her father, a beached hulk, of interest to no-one.

All rather sad.
