I think it just became trendy to say one liked it

It was on a Starry Night - sang by children is just beautiful

Harry Belafonte - Scarlet Ribbons

And, of course The Pogues

But like Oldandverygrey, I prefer carols, too.

We used to sing the Latin version at school and I've never forgotten it. I taught it to my step-daughter and she happily sings it too.

As this post is about Christmas songs as opposed to Christmas hymns my favourite would be "Mary's Boy Child" - Harry Belafonte.

E17. 'Stay another Day' I don't know what it has to do with Christmas but I find the video mesmerising. DH laughs at their clothes and haircuts. We look forward to it every year ????

Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire) always does it for me.
