How romantic are we!

Happy anniversary Mamo. Sounds like you had a lovely evening.

Ours was two days before my birthday, and both our birthdays were on 29th, though different months. It helped DH to remember, though he often dashed out on the day to buy a last-minute card. We never bothered with anniversary gifts though. It would have been out 56th this year.

I remember a Miss Valentine marrying a Mr. Valentine at our church, some years ago. Naturally, they wed on Valentine’s Day. One wedding anniversary that would be hard to forget!

My son is extremely romantic and sometimes makes me envious that my DH never was.

One year he took a little table, lace cloth and chairs to the favourite beach of his girlfriend, whose birthday it was and when they arrived served strawberries, cream and champagne before presenting her with a bouquet of roses.

Perhaps it's because he was born on Valentine's Day?

He was my best Valentine's Day gift.

My husband has always been useless with dates and always used to send a birthday card to his Mother on the 13th of May although her birthday was the 12th. So he thought we should get married on the 12th May and we did. His mothers had died about 20 years before. One year we were moving abroad and actually left England on our wedding anniversary without realising it until the next day when we signed for our house and saw the date. Usually we manage to have a meal out on that date but this year it was spent at the hospital having tests for cancer so no celebration.
