Sorry people I am 46 years of age and have been around in political circles.

I am a mother of a fourteen year old. I have three university degrees and have lived abroad for quite some time

I feel Boris Johnson can't orgainise his way out of a paper bag and all the people I know think the same

that is my milkman, my postman the people at the local shop the people at my local school.

I honestly am not being paid for saying this, but can we all come out and say...the guy needs to go,,,asap

Hello Terribull,

I'm assuming you are a bloke.
Otherwise, can't see why you would fathom that a woman being 'full of herself' would be an insult.

Can't see what else I would be full of.

And yes. I wouldn't normally use the word 'twat'.

However these are desperate times. I think there is a time and a place for anglo saxon expletives. ..although 'twat' has probably a different origin.

And no, not apologising for learning in my life....

Thanks for your support (and encouragement...) lol

Sorry that replies to various comments not in the right place...assume you all have the brain power (if you are not too busy with your knitting...joke by the way) to allocate the right response to the right troll.

Isn't it funny how it's Ok now to mock or trivialise academic qualifications? I can't help thinking it is much like inverted snobbery only about education rather than class, and probably explains why education is no longer as valued or admired as it once was. I notice once again there is the usual support for the Tories- "we can't trust Labour" "remember the 70s". As we stand on the edge of a precipice with a deal that would see all workers protection thrown out and an exit that would stop financial regulation and keep tax dodgers in business I wonder what those people see around them. There aren't strikes, but there are people living hand to mouth, not earning enough to feed their children, homeless families , long NHS waiting lists and underfunded schools. But hey as long as you're not inconvenienced that's all right then.

Barmeyoldbat Fri 18-Oct-19 17:09:37

I couldn't agree more Trisher, also I would vote for Labour even with JC being PM. Their manifesto has it all for me and I would trust them more than the lying self serving b ds we have now.

Fennel Fri 18-Oct-19 17:17:15

I agree Trisher However weak the LP seems to be on this at the moment, I will always vote for them.
God only knows what we'd be without the EU:

I keep praying that whatever is decided won't be too disastrous for all of us.

Oldbat1 Fri 18-Oct-19 17:34:34

I cannot understand anyone voting for such a disgraceful dishonest person. Women of a certain age seem to be smitten with him - I wouldn’t ever trust him. He is no orator barely being able to string a smooth sentence together. Hope he is kicked out as soon as possible. My hope lies with the younger generation.

grapefruitpip Fri 18-Oct-19 17:39:49

So what are the three degrees please? Genuinely interested.

paintingthetownred Fri 18-Oct-19 17:42:36

Me too. Old batl.

(Was the extra l a mistake or should you (like me) be brushing up on your punctuation. Or heaven forbid, even, like me you have a disabilty...)

Yes, the younger generation.

And, yes, I'm voting Labour.

knocking off for this evening, this thread is so fast paced it is blowing my mind...

big kiss (again)

The three degrees are on the Motown label.
If you live in a seaside town you might see them occasionally.
Otherwise obviously catch them on You Tube.
Detroit Sound. (I think)
painting (not currently obviously, boringly at home. sad given it is Friday night.)
Sorry good old Boris brings out flippancy and extreme sarcasm in me...

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 17:45:49

So what are the three degrees please?

Maybe now and again, you could google before you open your mouth ask such questions Grapefruitpip.

I assumed the OP was being asked what her three degrees were in, or have I misunderstood as this thread seems to have lost its way.

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 18:01:33

step away from the bottle

I don't drink, believe it or not. grin

GS did buy me two cans of gin and tonic for my birthday. He had somewhere got the idea that "Granny drinks it all the time". I have never drunk gin and tonic in my whole life. hmm

The cans are still in my fridge. Would you like them? grin

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 18:02:46

Oh I see! Sorry, I took your post the wrong way.

Still don't drink though.

TerriBull Fri 18-Oct-19 18:05:40

Hi Painting, I'm a woman, or was the last time I looked, but who knows, if the queues are too long at the "Ladies" next time I'm out, I might well opt for full self identification mode and morph from Terri to Terry! Well it was good enough for "Labour Dave" a while back, who declared "I'm a woman between 6am and 6pm", yeah kind of appealing when you're bursting for a pee. Happily these days the possibilities are endless! Should I slip out of my vertiginous heels though.............hmm! will they be a liability round the urinals??? I don't want to slide all over the place in wee, cos they miss a bit don't they! men that is, hope that doesn't smack too much of misandry, gulp! "Labour Dave" kept full beard mode when he was a woman, whaddya reckon painting? heels, or sensible shoes you're a woman of the world, having lived abroad, give us a clue.

Moving on "full of herself what else would a woman be full of" Yeah I'll put my hands not good sad So that's a big 1 nil to you Painting.

However, perhaps you could elucidate on your opening gambit on this thread which went "Sorry People" is that sorry people as in "poor unfortunates/baskets of deplorables" or "sorry people for what I'm about to say, BJ is a twat" shock Yes it's all down to brainpower I'm afraid, can't seem to fathom when faced with ambiguity sad

It's the Menopause you see, you wait Painting you've got it all to come, possibly sooner rather than later now you've dipped your toe into, the murky waters of GN. It sure ain't good I'm 64, er 78, er 102, er no idea shock Damn where's the milk person when you need clarification of age. Going by your observations clearly he's the human version of a specialist who can age a tree by the amount of inner rings in their trunk. I reckon it's all in the customer order, peri and post menopause, the female customer starts o ingest more lactose as the bone density decreases, sort of "rings in the tree" in reverse, so hey presto he can work out your age in a nanosecond envy Blimey aren't they marvellous, Milkpeople

"Ernieeeeee you out there?"

paintingthetownred Fri 18-Oct-19 18:06:02

Re: Stepping Away from the Bottle...

Can't help thinking grapefruitpip has good advice for us all....(lol). I'll borrow your cans though Gonegirl...

I really should rethink my organic milk consumption. One bottle is quite sufficient. Perhaps I will switch to tetrapaks.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...God Bless my milk(person)...

grapefruitpip Fri 18-Oct-19 18:06:41

Another one of your insult...

Where have you been for the last God knows how many years Grapefruitpip?

TerriBull Fri 18-Oct-19 19:11:20

"However these are desperate time. I think there is a time and place for Anglo Saxon expletives...although "twat" has probably a different origin".

Well after a big of digging Painting, it's not Anglo Saxon, the word doesn't go back that far, first heard in the 17th century, so ye olde English of sorts.

So the imagine this scenario, Charles 1st, head on the block, last words uttered as his executioner lifts the axe "no don't do it............ aaahhh you twat! (as the head is severed) and that, in the words of the late Frank Muir is the origins of "twat", or then it might have been thwack as the head hit the ground shock and spectators misheard, who knows could be an apocryphal account so much of history is.

Actually it's bollocks I've just made it up for you Painting smile not the 17th century bit, the rest.

petra Fri 18-Oct-19 19:19:03

TerriBull
Keep 'em coming. Brilliant ?????

paintingthetownred Fri 18-Oct-19 19:45:54

Yes, well done TerriBull. You have really excelled yourself with that post.

Flattered you made that one up for me Terribull.

Wondered what you do of an evening.

Theatre is very good. I hear the Drifters are going on tour.

In the absence of Three Degrees (which you clearly do not have) that might see you through a very lonely winter...

big kiss
Painting

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 20:03:04

I don't think they are very good. I think they are odd.

Why are you making them up?

Don't mean to be rude. Just puzzled.

paintingthetownred Fri 18-Oct-19 20:07:10

Well done Gonegirl. Just me being sarcastic.

Main point as revealed by the News. Capital N.

Not the Nine o'clock news.

Boris in the (anglo saxon phraseology) sxxt once again...

Do you mean the Drifters Gone Girl Bless you,?

I've always thought that was pretty straight forward...

Slick haircuts
Dance moves to practice...

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 20:17:50

No. I meant the odd stuff Terribull keeps posting.
