I hope there isn't another thread already.
Good morning everyone

ninathenana Tue 24-Sept-19 06:50:02

We were expecting storms over night and for it to be raining hard now. It is dark but dry.....for now.
Hope it's not too bad where you are and that you have a pleasant day

Beechnut Tue 24-Sept-19 06:53:22

Good Morning ninathenana and all who follow.

Dark, cloudy and wet on Severnside.
I’m expecting a parcel today so unless it comes early I won’t be going for my usual Tuesday swim. A home day working I shall be doing with some walks up the garden between the rain.
I hope you all have a good day ?

Marydoll Tue 24-Sept-19 07:05:42

Good morning all, Nina thanks for opening up.
It's dark and damp here in Glasgow, but quite mild.

Bloods for me first thing, however, they are resurfacing the main road near my home, so a complicated detour for me. sad

I won't be doing much when I get back, apart from picking up DGD at lunchtime. I still have this hacking cough, no voice and am feeling very sorry for myself! DH had the same thing and you would have thought he was about to expire, (according to him grin ).
Our wee grandaughter too, has the same cough, so we will snuggle up together like best buddies. Trying to prevent a full blown asthma attack for her is a constant battle.

Have a good day, whatever your plans.

MawB Tue 24-Sept-19 07:10:09

Pitch dark and chucking it down!,
Good morning all - if I didn’t have to be at the Dr at 8.30 or have a dog with an upset tum, I’d be back under the duvet in a trice!
Wishing you all a pleasant day!

Nannytopsy Tue 24-Sept-19 07:18:56

Good morning all. Dogs with dodgy tums are never good Maw. Hope that cough starts to abate soon Marydoll.
We have our first proper visitors today, so lunch is being prepared.
Hope the weather doesn’t spoil everyone’s day.

Morning All. Wet and windy in our corner of Somerset. Been awake since 4, head in a spin and a sore throat. Mr C has of course been sleeping the sleep of the just. Phone calls to make then a private physio appointment to continue the work on my arm, shoulder and neck begun by the two NHS sessions. If a courier delivery comes this morning hope to get to the garden centre this afternoon for boring stuff like compost and top soil ready for some plant moving and garden reshaping I’m itching to do. Paperwork in between all that. Busy one ahead here, hope Tuesday is kind to everyone.

gillybob Tue 24-Sept-19 07:22:37

Good morning from a dark, damp and miserable NE coast where we have had heavy rain over night and a lot more to come.

The breakfast cafe is open for business with the usual wide choices of fruits, cereals, croissants, toast, jams, eggs etc. It is always very popular with my little overnight guests. I like to think it sets them up for a good morning .

School runs as usual then “that place” for a couple of hours before taking my dad shopping and more school runs and dinners. The children are very disappointed that they will not be having their long anticipated holiday in the sun in a few weeks time and I can’t offer much in the way of comfort. The girls are especially upset that they will not get to wear their new bikinis, dresses and sandals that they have been saving .

As usual nothing exciting to report. Have a good Tuesday everyone. x

Brunette10 Tue 24-Sept-19 07:24:09

Good Morning from a dark, dull and wet Fife. Normally see friend for coffee on a Tuesday morning but she has other plans today. DH still feeling under the weather but nothing major just a cold and headache. His eye test went fine yesterday. Not sure what I shall do today, it's rather a house day I think with the weather being as it is. However hope everyone that have plans has a good day.

Nortsat46 Tue 24-Sept-19 07:25:39

Good morning all, it's grey and wet in East London.

I am in bed with a chest infection and an exacerbation of asthma... antibiotics and steroids...
I shall enjoy a quiet half hour on GN and then a Sarah Paretsky's audio book.

Have a good day all and to those who are unwell or facing other challenges, sending you good thoughts. ?

Susan56 Tue 24-Sept-19 07:30:20

Good morning from Shropshire.Very heavy rain here forecast to last all day.
We are off to Stafford today to look after our little grandson.
So sorry about your family missing their holiday gilly, so disappointing.
Hope yours and your little granddaughters coughs starts to improve Mary ??
Wishing everyone the best day they can have.

Marydoll Tue 24-Sept-19 07:30:38

Norsat, I can empathise, as I know how awful it feels.
I have a course of steroids handy, just in case my chest gets any worse.
I'm on permanent antibiotics and they have kept the infections down to one this year.
I do hope you feel better soon. flowers

Gilly, I'm so sorry about the holiday being cancelled.

NanKate Tue 24-Sept-19 07:34:56

Morning Nina and All.

Hope Mick isn’t getting soaked on his hols.

Grey, miserable and constant rain in South Bucks to think it was the mid 70s last Saturday.

Packing and getting ready to leave tomorrow to look after DGSs whilst their Dad is away. Will be returning next Monday.

Hope Kitty isn’t waterlogged in Cornwall.

Sorry your cough is still with you and your little DGD Mary

Good Morning. It has just started raining here on the S Welsh coast and there was a rumble of thunder a minute ago.

Teal Tue 24-Sept-19 07:39:56

Good Morning from a gloomy NE. Very wet overnight and set to rain all day.
I had a very restless night last night so feeling rather tired this morning, however, doctors appointment first thing then off to work for me.
Already looking forward to coming home tonight to lasagnas, pjs on and candles lit.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day and manages to stay dry ?

dragonfly46 Tue 24-Sept-19 07:41:59

Good morning (or is it) dark and wet in Leicestershire.

So sorry to hear you are still poorly Marydoll I hope you and Norsat get better soon.
Shame about your GC holiday Gilly so many people affected by this crisis.

Swithering this morning about whether I should get some thing checked out at the hospital or not. I go to bed determined to go then wake up thinking it is a waste of time and it is not my favourite place!

Impulsively bought a new sofas yesterday - suddenly realised we can’t take it with us grin

Harris27 Tue 24-Sept-19 08:01:18

Good morning from a very dark gloomy ne. Seems it has happened weather has changed. Feels like middle of winter. Yet yesterday was sunny and warm here! Work later but For the moment it’s toast and tea and getting ready for another day. Good Tuesday to all so sorry about your little ones holiday gillybob.

NfkDumpling Tue 24-Sept-19 08:03:11

Morning All

Overcast, wet and drippy here in Norfolk. You can almost here the plants gulping in the moisture!

DH says I snored last night - I don’t believe him! And if I did it’s because of this wretched cold for which he’s shown no sympathy whatsoever. I hope, Marydoll and Norsat, that you both feel better soon. flowersflowers

moggie Tue 24-Sept-19 08:16:47

Good morning all from damp, drizzly Nottingham. Work today for me. Hope you feel better soon marydoll & Norsat, please get checked dragonfly. Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Tue 24-Sept-19 08:16:48

Good morning everyone from a wet but mild South Manchester. No plans until 5pm when we take our 7y old for his swimming lesson. Apparently he swam 2 lengths of the pool last week and has moved up a class.

I shall make my very easy SOAP dish for tonight (sage, onion, apple and pork) baked in the oven topped with mash. Then it just needs 20 minutes in the oven when we get back home.

dragonfly get yourself checked out please. Whatever it was bothered you last night and if you don’t go, it’ll bother you again later tonight ....

Oh gillybob your young family will be bitterly disappointed
- ATOL will reimburse but that could take ages so a replacement holiday might be months off.

3,000 of the people made redundant by Thomas Cook live in the Greater Manchester area apparently. Some poor families will be worrying about their finances this morning.

Hope all of you who are feeling unwell or anxious feel better very soon and that Tuesday will be kind to us all whether we have any plans or none. x

Greyduster Tue 24-Sept-19 08:18:36

Good morning, all GNs. It’s wet, grey and miserable in South Yorkshire - hope Mick is doing better for weather in the North of the county! We don’t have much to do today; school run later. I hope it’s better than yesterday’s which ended on a bit of a low! Have a good day folks.
