I’m glad you went dragonfly
I suppose I shouldn’t have been annoyed, but…
I hope there isn't another thread already.
Good morning everyone
I’m glad you went dragonfly
Urmston sounds delicious.
Been to the hospital, been drained and given advice for cording under my arm. Those who have had BC know what I am talking about.
My pleasure Nort
SOAP dish (haha!) for dinner:
Serves 2 greedyish people or 3 normals out there ...
Literally just assemble in a dish 4 pork loin chops (I cut them in half and a bit of fat on them melts and adds flavour)
Salt & pepper.
Slice a large baking apple into thick pieces as a layer and sprinkle over a teaspoon of dried sage.
Chop up an onion. Put that over the apple and add 2 tablespoons of water (steam cooks the meat).
Cover with foil, pop in oven 75 mins on 180°
Remove foil. Spread buttery mash on top. Brown in oven 20 minutes (I often do the prep & finish off later). I like it with dark green cabbage as a side.
Good morning all from sunny for now Devon, woke up to heavy rain, since then sun has played hide & seek with the clouds, nice at the moment so I'm off out to the Shops before we get more rain
Fireman coming to fit new smoke detector this afternoon. Think it's going to be a fairly lazy day, catch up on some reading & potter around.
Wishing all a good day, hope the sniffles etc improve
Good morning everyone,
Greyduster has our forecast summed up well, so today will be mostly an indoors day I think, doing the ironing and settling down with my book.
To all of you feeling poorly today, I hope you soon start to feel better.
Dragonfly, don't ignore that niggle of yours and go and get yourself checked - they won't think you are wasting their time and you will feel better if you go.
Take care all, and I hope you have a good day, whatever the weather.
Good morning from a very wet and dark Northampton. Feeling pleased that I cut the front grass yesterday afternoon. Slept till nearly 8am this morning, which is a miracle for me as I am usually awake before 6. My cats have decided that bedtime is playtime these last few nights, so am having to shut them out of the bedroom, as they think it is fun to bite my toes through the duvet! I hate my bedroom door closed but either that or I shut them in the kitchen where they would go stir crazy.
Should have been doing a health walk after lunch, but doesn't look likely now. No other plans for today, so will catch up on my reading. Will make a nice comforting paprika chicken this afternoon.
I hate to say it, but we do need the rain! Hope people haven't got too many outdoor plans.
Good morning from east London, where it’s wet and looks like staying that way. I’m putting my birthday on hold until it fairs up and I can do what I want - good walk, lunch and a cream scone. However, we will go for lunch before doing the school run. Congratulations Gravygranny, hope your DiL feels better soon and Dragonfly, the only way to stop worrying is to check at the hospital; it’s given me a lot of comfort that six years down the line and having been signed off, I still have direct access to the Breast care unit just in case. Have a good day.
Ooh Anniebach hope you can shoo that rain away from Wales by tomorrow- I’m coming home!
Lovely blue skies for my last day in Spain so I can get last of the washing dry - we seem to have done nothing but wash & mop for last three days!
Have a pleasant day everyone whatever you’re doing.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Heavy rain in Mid Wales.
Hope everyone has a good day x
Good Morning , bit soggy here but it is mild . Not healthy weather at all , no wonder there are so many bugs and viruses lingering about , I hope all the poorly people are soon well again xxx
I was out and about with DD 1 yesterday and bought a new walker , I have been using a hand me down , this feels sturdier . Only thing is I only use it on holiday or when out of the Village ! How daft am I ?
Marydoll, dragonfly, moggie & Nfkdumpling thank you for your good wishes. ?
People are so supportive on this thread, it's my favourite.
I am still feeling lousy ... but am smiling.
Urmstongran SOAP for supper sounds delicious, will you share the recipe please?
Dragonfly, do note everyone's concern ... follow your instinct and get the issue checked out ... and then celebrate your excellent decision to get new sofas... any photos ?
Good morning. Wet and gloomy here in North Yorkshire. Such a shame for the cycling. It comes our way tomorrow when the main road from the village will be closed for 6 hours.
Off to meet a friend for lunch and a bit of top up shopping for me.
Sorry to hear of the coughs and colds and the spoilt holiday.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Goodmorning from a very dark damp SE Essex.
Have GD this morning, whilst AS goes to hospital to visit our DIL, hopefully she will be moved into the post natal ward today (complications after planned C Section) looking forward to meeting our new GS later on.
Hope you all manage to keep dry on this horrid day ☔️☔️☔️
Good Morning All x
Dark, very wet as it must have been raining all night. I'll see how the day goes before I decide to go to Asda or make do with what I've got . There's too much to do here without buzzing off really. I feel as though I'll never get straight.
Cats and squirrels fed so I'm able to get on with some jobs without interruptions, as the squirrel sits outside the patio door with its arms folded if I don't throw peanuts out.
Hope everyone doesn't get too soaked if venturing out. I suppose it's now what we expect of the weather
Good morning everyone from a wet and miserable Essex by the sea. Apart from an appointment with the nurse at lunchtime to check my blood pressure there is not much in my calendar today. Step grandson is 6 today so will be having birthday cake later when all the step grandchildren are home from School and their parents back from work.
I hope all who are poorly feel better. Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a cloudy NE.
Going to an open day run by my specialist nurse and then going to look for a new mattress.
Wheels in motion at the solicitor for the house sale, should be straight forward as there is no chain on either side.
Sorry to hear about the holiday loss gilly, difficult for children to understand when a company like Thomas Cook go under.
Good morning, all GNs. It’s wet, grey and miserable in South Yorkshire - hope Mick is doing better for weather in the North of the county! We don’t have much to do today; school run later. I hope it’s better than yesterday’s which ended on a bit of a low! Have a good day folks.
Good morning everyone from a wet but mild South Manchester. No plans until 5pm when we take our 7y old for his swimming lesson. Apparently he swam 2 lengths of the pool last week and has moved up a class.
I shall make my very easy SOAP dish for tonight (sage, onion, apple and pork) baked in the oven topped with mash. Then it just needs 20 minutes in the oven when we get back home.
dragonfly get yourself checked out please. Whatever it was bothered you last night and if you don’t go, it’ll bother you again later tonight ....
Oh gillybob your young family will be bitterly disappointed
- ATOL will reimburse but that could take ages so a replacement holiday might be months off.
3,000 of the people made redundant by Thomas Cook live in the Greater Manchester area apparently. Some poor families will be worrying about their finances this morning.
Hope all of you who are feeling unwell or anxious feel better very soon and that Tuesday will be kind to us all whether we have any plans or none. x
Good morning all from damp, drizzly Nottingham. Work today for me. Hope you feel better soon marydoll & Norsat, please get checked dragonfly. Have a good day everyone.
Morning All
Overcast, wet and drippy here in Norfolk. You can almost here the plants gulping in the moisture!
DH says I snored last night - I don’t believe him! And if I did it’s because of this wretched cold for which he’s shown no sympathy whatsoever. I hope, Marydoll and Norsat, that you both feel better soon.

Good morning from a very dark gloomy ne. Seems it has happened weather has changed. Feels like middle of winter. Yet yesterday was sunny and warm here! Work later but For the moment it’s toast and tea and getting ready for another day. Good Tuesday to all so sorry about your little ones holiday gillybob.
Morning all from a soggy Cornwall. It poured overnight but it's currently dry. The forecast is a different thing.

Not much on this morning just a bit of housework , going out for dinner with some old work mates from school so there will be a lot of chatter tonight.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dull start here
We must finish sanding the floor today as the hired machine has to go back tomorrow. Then a decision whether to varnish or oil the surface.
