Good morning Mick and all to come. Still no rain here.
Despite the best efforts of my Dyson fan which has been on non-stop for the last 5 days(!) I have been awake since 5.30, disturbed the dog (“Out now? Why?”), read most of the newspaper, drunk tea and contemplated life.
Just don’t feel like getting up!
Book Club barbecue lunch today but not a lot else.
Wishing you all a pleasant day!

Morning Mick, maw, all.

Its greyish in North Leicestershire. Dh and 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren are going for a walk this morning. I am taking our cleaner to clean DS1's flat. I might join them in the for lunch.

Curry for dinner!

Good morning from east London and it’s been rainy. However it will fair up soon as this morning is my first chance to play tennis this week. I’m having to postpone my usual ‘reading in bed in the mornings’ to beat the builders; work starts on the kitchen today and I want to have breakfast before the fun starts. Looking after GD this afternoon, I think we’ll need to get the shovels out to clear up after her party with a short break at some point to collect a friend after a hospital procedure -I’m ‘On-call’ from about 5.30. Have a good day.

Good morning, the sky is beginning to clear in Leicestershire but despite the rain not much cooler.

Coffee with friends this morning then must gather together P60’s etc for the accountant and transfer money from different accounts for my mum’s fees just in case. On countdown now til Monday.

I ought too to get the washing in which got soaked yesterday.

Bellasnana Wed 28-Aug-19 07:02:52

Good morning all. Another hot day beginning here in Malta.

I’m feeling like Maw this morning, it’s a struggle to get up, although I have been awake since 6am and have fed the dog and washed the backyard. Trouble is, I then take my tea back to bed and can’t muster up the energy to shower and dress.

I’m meeting a pal for coffee but not until 10.30, so I can laze a bit longer. blush

Hope everyone has a good day.☀️

Good morning.

A complete change in the weather for Kent. It's cloudy and rain is forecast. I can't remember when we last had rain. Still warm though.
Nothing planned apart from taking DH too and from work.
Have a good day everyone.

Brunette10 Wed 28-Aug-19 07:12:23

Good Morning from very dull and rainy looking Fife. Big change from last two days sad. We have DGS2 today since DGS1 now at nursery, it's such a change only having one, so quiet smile. Bought additional car seat too so can now transport them both wherever/whenever. Will wait and see how the weather turns out before deciding what we shall do today. Hope everyone has a good day despite weather change.

Good morning from a (now) calm NE coast where we had the most spectacular thunder and lightening show over night together with torrential rain . It lasted for hours and the bedroom was lighting up very few minutes. More heavy rain forecast for later today .

My Dyson fan works for its keep too Maw I can’t remember the last time I slept without it .

Had good fun with DGS (9) yesterday afternoon when he announced that “he was going to get me fit” the DGC are all super sporty and there’s not a pick of fat on them. DGS said “grandma, look at my 6 pack, you don’t get this from sitting around you know” he then proceeded to spread his sister’s dance mats on the lawn and become my personal trainer. His expressions had me in fits of giggles but he really is very good. Last night when he went home he left me with instructions for my new “routine” grin

I’m back to “that place” today, the bank holiday followed by my usual Tuesday childcare has knocked me sideways and I am feeling quite miserable to be going back after being away since Friday PM. Lots of catching up to do too. Yuk.

Well I fell that I have taken too much of your time already blabbering on.

Have a good Wednesday everyone whether you are one of the lucky people away on holiday, a reluctant stay at home (like me) or just happy relaxing in your own surroundings , I hope today is kind to us all xx

Morning All

A brilliantly red sunrise through the gathering clouds on the horizon earlier. It’s grey all over now. Quite dark grey in places and very still so we may well get a few drops of rain.

Picking up DGS this afternoon for a sleepover. Hopefully tomorrow will be warm enough still for a visit to the beach in the morning.

NanKate Wed 28-Aug-19 07:23:42

Morning Mick and All.

Cooler and rather cloudy here in South Bucks it seems that the Sahara weather has left us, hooray. ?

Off to have my hair and nails done in preparation for 2 nights away in Worcestershire to celebrate my best friend’s 50th WA. I won’t be going in my old bridesmaid’s outfit as I don’t think I could squeeze into it now.

Nannytopsy Wed 28-Aug-19 07:27:56

Good morning everyone! My bit of Leicester had a few drops of rain yesterday afternoon and it looks dry now. I don’t think we had thunder but I have been known to sleep through a storm! I need to wash today but we are forecast rain. Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Wed 28-Aug-19 07:36:28

Good morning from a damp Glasgow.

I'm having a day at home and catching up on all the chores.

DH is planning to paint the garage doors and railings, that should be interesting, not the tidiest of workmen.
My job is to unravel and remove the strings of solar lights around the railings. sad. It seemed a good idea at the time!

grinEnjoy your day, whatever you are doing and whatever the weather.??

harrigran Wed 28-Aug-19 07:41:36

Good morning from a grey NE.
We had a storm yesterday evening and then again at about 22.30, rain was torrential. I don't know whether it continued during the night because I put ear plugs in.
DD flew into the UK during the storm and had to exit on to the tarmac to her annoyance as she was wearing white trousers.
I have an eye test booked for lunchtime, I fear this may be an expensive day out.

Good morning all. It was damp and had been raining when I opened the curtains this morning in Northampton, but now the sun is trying to come through. I do not like Wednesday mornings as it is the day I take my once a week tablet which is strictly to be taken on an empty stomach on water and nothing else afterwards for at least half an hour; making me wait for my morning cup of tea and biscuit! However it is a good time to do my Sainsbury's on line order.

A bit of a rest this morning after a busy day with the DGDs yesterday. Much fun was had in the paddling pool, but the cats kept well clear after a few splashes!

Hairdressers this afternoon, then the DGDs are here again overnight as their mum and dad have tickets for the theatre in London this evening. They have requested Grandma's homemade Bolognese.

Hope Wednesday treats everyone well.

Good Morning from dry ( so far) S Welsh coast. We are forecast heavy rain, can't remember when we last had any significant rain. Yesterday was warm and breezy and dried lots of washing including a new duvet cover I bought yesterday.
Didn't sleep well so a quieter day in prospect. Meeting some friends in a local pub early evening.
I had new glasses recently harri and they were cheaper than last time, was very pleasantly surprised.
gilly just keeping repeating ' it's a shorter week',

NannyJan53 Wed 28-Aug-19 08:05:59

Good morning from a cloudy but warm Black Country

Had a lovely weekend in a Beach Hut in Shaldon, Devon. Couldn't believe our luck with the weather. It rained when we arrived home yesterday!

Today is a day of washing and pottering, back to the normal routine

Wishing everyone a good day

Pittcity Wed 28-Aug-19 08:20:00

Good morning from a rainy Colchester. It's 10 degrees cooler than yesterday...it was over 30 in the shade.
We have DGS2 for the day so hope the rain doesn't linger.

Urmstongran Wed 28-Aug-19 08:25:12

Good morning lovely people from sunny Malaga where I’m having my first cuppa of the day on the balcony which until lunchtime is in the shade.

My husband has just got back from an hour’s walk. He said there are loads of folk out walking at 8am when it’s cooler. He’s in the shower now.

Cesar the gardener is cutting the grass with a petrol mower. He will be done in an hour. I shall go down for my (third) swim then. 40 minutes, swimming in a circle like a demented goldfish (I can’t turn in the water swimming ‘lengths’ I have to stop and turn, hence the circles idea!).

An alcohol free day today which isn’t easy out here (for me anyway!) but a lovely foot and leg massage in the salon downstairs which our daughter and son in law booked for my birthday. Lovely!

Maw your book club barbecue sounds wonderful. 3 of my favourite things - books, food and friends! I hope you have a great time - what book are you discussing?

Hope Wednesday is good to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Good morning everyone ?? from a much cooler (18° rising to 22°) Godalming which suits me very well.
My run today was earlier @ 6am and everywhere looked fresh after light overnight showers.
Patches of blue showing which is a good sign.
Yodel have just sent a text to say that my H&M parcel (ordered yesterday) is out for delivery. Odd, as they usually use Hermes which are 5* in this area.
Ordered two lightweight cardigans from their new range which I have often worn back to front in the past (just to be different) as they have a slightly dipped neckline.
With 15% off as a long standing member and free tracked delivery with no minimum spend, at £18.20 they are a bargain.
That aside, I will go to M&S for bread, bananas, mini subs, salad greens, butter and cream for the Tesco raspberries bought yesterday.
I also ordered Country Living, Good Housekeeping and Woman and Home on reduced subscriptions - £6 for 6 monthly copies (CL was £10) which OH kindly paid. There's a mug with one, sent separately, and a GH apron with that mag.
I cancel before the 6th issue so I don't incur the price increase. ??
Well girls/ladies, I hope you're all rested after the BH and back into work/babysitting/gardening mode once more.
It's heartwarming to read of the many ways you overcome obstacles, problems and compromises in your lives and to read of the happy events and uplifting posts which support your fellow GNers.
I'm so pleased I joined this fabulous, diverse community.
Take care...???

Beechnut Wed 28-Aug-19 08:41:49

Good Morning everyone.
It has been raining overnight with a peeping of sun right now.

I have a homework day and not much else.

Yesterday evening was spent with my brother and SiL.

I hope you all enjoy the day ?

Ginny42 Wed 28-Aug-19 08:43:57

I'm working too at the moment Gillybob, but not till 11 15, so I'm sending good morning greetings. Have been up for ages planning today and washing hair etc. It's lovely and sunny out there (Midlands) but I escaped a massive downpour last night by minutes. I saw the clouds and scuttled along the paths, arriving at my accommodation just as the heavens opened. I would have been drenched through

This week is flying by because of BHM off. I'm laughing now, but didn't find it funny yesterday when I went to class with the odd numbered pages only in the reading for the students. All the even pages were missing. Arggh! Quickly put Plan B into operation.

Have a good day everyone.

Anniebach Wed 28-Aug-19 08:55:34
