The vagina is self-cleaning and as a rule, women should not be putting perfume, soap, or cleansers down there. These can cause irritation and even infections.

Yup, I heard about that one too. I think the sad reality is that we're not doing a great job about teaching people how their bodies actually work.

I do not blame certain types of sex ed for this. This has nothing to do with sex. This has to do with teaching people the normal functions of the human body and about human anatomy.
