Oooooh I’m all excited now......

Panache Fri 24-May-19 10:18:15

Although we have already travelled a million miles in emotional turmoil it is getting more and more difficult in now getting ourselves out of this place and into our chosen flat!!!
No decorators with time to spare, removals need a date, carpet fittrers need entry and we need another few able bodies to get things fitted on walls!!!!

Oh1 for the day when my dear man would have everything covered in no time................however we are immensley grateful that there are moves to get us us into that safer supportive environment...... and so I try to keep upbeat.
Not easy when my eyes are closing as I type!!!

Anneliese thinking very much of you and just knowing how you feel...................it is not an easy road for sure but we shall win through by hook or by crook............and what a blessing it is having such great kitchen friends that we can always rely upon to give us loving support.

Another day of bedlam lies ahead!!! TOYA with my love.

Nannytopsy Fri 24-May-19 12:34:26

Grrr my long message has disappeared!
Rascal - welcome! Cake, savouries, we don’t mind!
Morethan than is relatively positive I feel - it could have been so much more painful for you. We will all keep thinking of you.
Kitty I read elsewhere about your tooth problem - hope it is sorted for your holiday. I had an emergency repair yesterday, prior to our holiday tomorrow - taxi at 3.45 am ?.
Panache you will get there!
Still lots of pain from my eye but hoping the steroid drops and painkilling drops take more effect before too long.
Can we keep the activity to a minimum next week please or I will never catch up!
TOYA

dragonfly46 Fri 24-May-19 12:39:28

Gosh so much to catch up on. Been a little down recently so just been sitting in the corner listening.

Callgirl that sounds like great news for you son. They are so clever these days!

Panache what can I say. I am thrilled you have a flat you like and so sorry I am not nearer to help with the fundamentals of moving. It is a daunting task but step by step it will happen and we are all behind you.

Soop as ever your photos are amazing. What a tranquil place to live.

Morethan it is good news that your DiL is a little perkier whatever the scan shows. Keeping positive is the key to enjoying what we have.

Welcome Rascal you will find friendly supportive words here. Everyone is very kind.

To those I have missed TOYA.

soop Fri 24-May-19 15:29:35

Gulp! shock What on earth have you lot been up to? I've a mountain of posts to catch up with. You are amazing. But then I've told you often enough. smile

morethan My heart goes out to you. We are here to listen and if, by any chance, knowing as much, helps you just a little, then we shall continue to be here for you. flowers

rascal A huge, warm welcome to you. There are many of us who find our daily interaction beneficial. PLEASE do visit and share in whatever news and points of view appeal to you. We never fall out with each other. That's the one and only rule. Life is difficult enough. A little kindness costs nothing and goes a very long way. sunshine

soop Fri 24-May-19 15:44:09

Urmstongran I can imagine you seated beneath a palm tree with a chilled cocktail, gazing across the manicured lawn and well-tended garden. Good for you. You deserve it. Enjoy! sunshine

callgirl1 Said hello to David. Lots of visitors. Some lolling in dechchairs. It's another glorious day in Kintyre.

Greyduster Yet more lovely photos. The art gallery would delight me.

Anneliese You are assured of a warm virtual hug from me. If only we could wander into a lovely large, comfortable room with a constant supply of cupcake and brew whenever we need an hour or more of real companionship...wouldn't that be delightful?

NanaandGrampy Fri 24-May-19 15:53:30

Afternoon all,

We have just returned from a morning out at a local rose growers. They have the most wonderful garden attached where they display all their plants in situ. I am so inspired. Trouble is they have a few acres and I have a pocket handkerchief in comparison !! Ive added a couple of pictures so you can see what I mean.

I loved the pictures of Hardwick Hall Grey ! Sounds fascinating. Good luck at the hospital .

Never worry morethan about us lot, pop in when you can, share what you like and no one will ever mind if you miss them out . We're not like that in here --- now if you pinch the LAST slice of virtual cake, that might be a different matter !!

Welcome Rascal - love the name !!

Enjoy your holiday NannyT ! Take pictures :-)

I am off to eat an ice-cream in the garden and enjoy the weather - Ill leave you with a picture of Master Cooper in his wedding finery recently.

soop Fri 24-May-19 15:54:37

Panache Yes! You will get there. I can understand how difficult all the present and upcoming upheavel will be for you. When one is able-bodied it can still be one of the most stressful events to have to contend with. As your health issues are far from ideal, you now need firm offers of support more than ever before.

Nannyt So sorry to hear that your eye iremains painful. You were right to return to the hospital for a second opinion regarding the medication.
As for losing posts...I am a class act at doing so. My language can be pretty grim. Good thing that MacSporran doesn't pay too much attention. blush

soop Fri 24-May-19 15:56:06

Master Cooper A smile to warm the cockles of our hearts.

soop Fri 24-May-19 15:57:54

dragonfly We are here with you in spirit. Please remember that you matter to us lot. flowers

MawBroonsback Fri 24-May-19 16:10:22

Great news from Panache and reasonably positive news from morethan

I hope nobody is venturing too far afield on motorways today. Having heard the traffic news on my way back from the hairdresser and seen the queues on the M1 it bodes ill.
So keep safe!
Actually pleased with my hair this time-usually I come home and stick it under the tap, but Sally did me proud.
Typically there will only be Hattie and the Ocado delivery man to appreciate it and Hattie loves me whatever.
So bring on the Internet shopping delivery grin

Urmstongran Fri 24-May-19 16:14:53

Your hair looks fabulous Maw never mind who sees it or doesn’t. It gives one a nice boost, regardless. Which is lovely.
?

Charleygirl5 Fri 24-May-19 16:18:05

Cooper looks as pleased as punch and so smart in his wedding outfit.

Hattie will love that smart hairdo Maw.

Who has stolen the sun please? I had to retire indoors because there was a nip in the air and it was dull. It even looks as though it may rain here- preferably not before midnight.

soop Fri 24-May-19 16:28:06

Maw I agree. Your new haircut suits you perfectly. In fact, it's very like mine.

Charleyg The sunshine is right here with us. Everyone keeps saying that we need rain. That would be good for our garden and our spring water supply.

Charleygirl5 Fri 24-May-19 16:43:10

soop that is what the hours of midnight and 6 am are for. The sun was shining here all morning-never mind there should be more sun tomorrow.

soop I did not like to be rude mentioning the sun had crept to your neck of the woods. I hope that Brodie is sunbathing somewhere.

I am about to load up my new dishwasher so if anybody would like fresh cutlery and dishes please feel free, I am as bad with a dishwasher as I am with a washing machine, I really should buy industrial ones.

TOYA

callgirl1 Fri 24-May-19 17:27:42

Lovely photos GreyD and N&G, Master Cooper looks a treat.
Love the hair MawB.
Nice to hear fairly positive news about your dear DIL Morethan, glad she`s feeling perkier as well.
My son came earlier, on his bike for the first time in several weeks. He looks ridiculously fit and healthy, hasn`t lost any hair, he says the doctor in Lincoln told him he didn`t look like a patient! He`s also put on a stone and a half in weight, he lost a heck of a lot before he was diagnosed.
My ironing isn`t finished yet, but it`s down to a mole hill now.
Soop, David will

definitely know he`s in heaven with a lovely lady saying hello regularly, thank you!

soop Fri 24-May-19 17:49:12

callgirl1 Your David looks ridiculously fit. Now, that really is cheer-making news. I'm so pleased for you and for the family.

Charleyg We haven't had a visit from Brodie for about three nights. He has his own agenda. He comes and goes and partakes of a meal of the finest cat biscuits whenever he's in the area.

On the very first occasion Rory wandered into the utility room, he attacked me. I was bruised and bleeding when he lunged into my leg as I inched past him. He tore my jeans. I had to have a tetanus injection. I didn't blame him. He felt threatened. He was truly feral and couldn't know that I would never harm him. It took months of patience on both our parts to win his confidence. He started off living in a wheelie bin lying on its side, in which we placed a cat igloo. Then he had a proper kennel, carpeted and cosy with blankets during the harsh weather. Whenever I approached him he would lash out with his open claws. I had learned a lesson and knew how to avoid contact. I believe it took nine months until the moment when he followed me into the house and walked beside me whilst taking in so many new experiences. We had some lovely times with him. He was the master, and we his servants. He and MacSporran developed a very special bond. Amazing cat! Amazing memories.

soop Fri 24-May-19 17:51:39

The sun continues to shine. I am logging off until tomorrow. If I have missed mentioning any of our Granspals, I apologise. TOYA. smile moon

Nannytopsy Fri 24-May-19 18:26:01

Love the hair Maw but put that poor lad from Ocado down! Have you been to “that” bar again?!
Callgirl that sounds like very good news.
Cat is in the cattery, husband fetching fish and chips, all ready for our holiday! Have s good week everyone x

cornergran Fri 24-May-19 19:04:57

Sunshine disappeared here at exactly 2pm, windy and jolly chilly since. If you could send it back we’d appreciate it soop. Nothing much to report here other than a successful food shop for once the list was completed easily.

Happy holiday nannyt, enjoy it all. Please be sensible with your eye, seek advice if it’s needed.

I’m with the ‘it’s positive news’ brigade morethan. As n&g says never fret about us, don’t worry a bit about not keeping up, not so sure any of us can. smile.

Cooper scrubs up well n&g. For a moment I thought I’d like a garden like that, then common sense prevailed. Well, I would like it as long as there was a battalion of gardeners.

Hair looks very good maw, the hairdresser is a keeper. Not so sure mine is, there seems to be a communication gap between us.

Has the dishwasher survived it’s first run charley? I’m the kiss of death to irons, lucky if they manage a year blush.

Sadly Mr C doesn’t think I am sweetness and light when sleep is distant memory greyd, I read him your post, he’s still recovering from uncalled for mirth. Well, I think that’s what it is grin.

I’m sorry it’s such a struggle panache, certainly a struggle worth having, please be sure to be clear about the help you need. It will come I know it. Rest well tonight.

Would a hug help Dragonfly? Good to see you here again.

Mr C has had a bit of a dicky tum today, says he’s OK now, hope it has settled as we’re due out bright and early tomorrow.

TOYA, be good everyone.

dragonfly46 Fri 24-May-19 20:17:34

Thank you everyone. Hugs always help! I am fine, really, just occasionally I find it easier to sit and listen than to take part. I feel my treatment is in limbo but I must take comfort from the fact that the doctors do not seem overly worried. Going to the hospital for my 4 weekly check on Tuesday.
So happy to be one of you lot TOYA!

callgirl1 Fri 24-May-19 20:56:26

Definite hugs coming your way Dragonfly, hope you`re soon feeling more like you.
I hope that Mr Corner`s tum is better by now.
Have a good holiday NannyT.

cornergran Fri 24-May-19 21:05:05

So do I callgirl, so do I wink.

Doodle Fri 24-May-19 21:08:36

morethan the news sounds a bit better for your DIL. Hope things get sorted at kings soon.
panache moving is hectic for most of us let alone someone with your problems. Hope help is at hand from someone.
dragonfly. Little hug. Sorry you’ve been feeling down. Anxiety and worry take a toll on us all from time to time. Sometimes it’s hard to feel upbeat. Hope your spirits lifted soon.
N&G young Cooper looks a treat in his wedding outfit. Is there a young lady on the scene at the moment? Better watch out he doesn’t get snapped up ?
maw we are here to appreciate you hairdo and very nice it is too. I am sure the delivery man will be pleased too ?
callgirl good news about your son that must be a good sign. TOYA

rascal Fri 24-May-19 21:14:09

Good evening everyone. Thank you all for the lovely welcome. I have brought savories and cake all gluten free of course which I baked earlier. I hope you all like them!

Yes callgirl I have been a member of Gransnet for some years now. I post sometimes. I joined when my beloved husband died very suddenly. For some reason I felt the need to type out my feelings. I found the Grans very understanding and supportive. Thank goodness for Gransnet.

I sometime can't find a post that I have read. I 'lost' Soops Kitchen earlier. How do I find it if I can't see it?

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

flowers

Charleygirl5 Fri 24-May-19 21:29:07

rascal if you lose soop's kitchen because we are all having a rest, at the top of the page open Last Day under Gransnet Forum and scroll down it. Click on it and that opens it on this page. I believe it stays on Last Day for 24 hours.

This is handy if one eg is looking at meet ups- that subject in particular flies off the page. I hope that this makes sense.

It is anything but warm so I am going to have an early night to read my book and hope that tomorrow is warmer.
