Changing clocks ⏰

Between 1968 and 1971 we had BST as an experiment. In the north of England we were getting up and going out in darkness to go to college.
I would rather have Greenwich Mean Time all year.

GMT all year for me.

I am pl6d enough to remember double BST but can't remember how it worked out or why it was phased out.
It may have been during the war.

I hate all this clock changing malarkey... it’s ridiculous. It take me ages to get back into the “zone”.... I will feel robbed on Monday morning ....... and try telling a 10 month old baby that the clocks have gone forward or back.

So many clocks to change this morning! All done now what a palaver. I usually spend the next few days thinking ‘it’s really only such & such time’.

Ah well, nice light evenings to enjoy which lifts the spirits!

my bodyclock is on summer time all year round. It is quite a relief to be waking at the sme time every day, only now it is 6am and yesterday was 5am

I had already lost 4 hours on Friday through returning from holiday, losing the extra hour this morning has totally wiped me out.

DH changed the clocks at 11pm last night in an effort to get me into bed at a reasonable time ?

I don't mind which time zone we choose but it would be great to always be the same and not have to change the clocks anymore.

I heard on local radio that one of the people who originally pressed for changing the clocks was a man who wanted more daylight hours to play golf!! So we are all losing an hour in bed because some idiot wanted to hit a little ball with a stick

Despite putting the ones that needed to be changed last night.
Its surprising as to your body adapting as well, as to daily routines such as toilet etc ,and meals readjusting to that added hour.
I think BST came in during world war 2 ,and has remained in UK since.

Does anyone else find there is always one clock which is forgotten? Most of my clocks change automatically but I went round changing the older ones which don't - feeling pleased to have got it done, then realised I hadn't changed the one on the Rayburn (which has to be changed as it is not only used for cooking but also heating and hot water). I forget about it every time

Yes sunseeker... a small clock in the study always gets overlooked, often months before we notice it.?
