I am off at 11am to feed my H in hospital, he is not eating.
I am doing this everyday while he is there.

Oh Ann it is unrelenting , your poor OH is so weak he needs to eat , but you are getting worn down , take care xx

Big sunny day here as we celebrate my GD Mim’s first birthday.....and her first tooth which finally made an appearance yesterday!

Syn my DH would be at the front of the queue to sympathise with you. The stress of coping with illness and pending surgery for a partner gets pushed deep within as part of your coping and caring. I hope you can enjoy the sun at little and take some moments away from worry.

My H is 83 tomorrow, GS 20 today.

A very good morning to my Kitchen friends and I hope you too are all enjoying this real touch of summer whether here to stay or simply a fleeting visit,already it has had things moving in our place............

As I write we have 2 hefty young men out side one mowing,trimming and edging to the front and another wielding a very powerful machine in our paddock complete with a strimmer.............obviously we are about to have a real short back and sides to those offending grassy areas!!

That Should make the man of the house more cheery as he really has become difficult to cope with,especially the mornings now he is in such pain.I feel so utterly helpless.

Again much like your activity Nannytopsy this is more for the sake of prospective viewers than our own pleasure,this house selling is NOT a pleasant business and I do wish you well.

Another viewer yesterday,retraced their footsteps after the first “walk through” but whether that means anything we have yet to learn........they have both a house and holiday letting business to sell, but have more than one interested party we were told.
But so have we.............and yet we are still here!!

You obviously know our pain N G*.......such a business indeed.

Another short back and sides yesterday in my new H/D; indeed I am now the proud (or rather dubious?) owner of the “Gamin cut” it certainly is easy to care for and that is optimum at this moment in time,and I certainly feel more human!

Still waiting and hoping for some much needed relief for your arm I see Corner sadly these days the NHS take even longer than ever before........and longer still here in Wales!

Whilst Marydoll you need to pay heed to our Soop and her warnings, because it takes so little for sepsis to set in and then you would be in dire trouble,you have more than enough of that already!!!
So I hope you are paying heed.

That “Moonboot” sounds quite an ordeal Lineamillion but hopefully it is only a short term usage and you`ll soon be donning summer sandals again.

Whilst still battling the NHS for further diagnoses regards your husband`s neurological problems Anneliese, you certainly did not need that dental intervention! Hope your dentist can “sort it” we are wary of them but they usually leave us with good results.

Sorry hearing you have been feeling slightly “under par” GreyD.......it happens to us all, but hopefully you are again your perkier self.

Birthday greetings to your dear H Ann.......a good age but sadly all this is tinged with sadness because of his health.Nevertheless I am sure you will be sharing some of the day with him.

So very many postings although I have but missed one day,but the kitchen is in full flow these days and so I apologise for another of my longer messages.
But not before wishing our dear Soop a good safe journey this day together with her stalwart, and hopefully the news will be pleasing,giving you a clearer picture of the rest of your treatment.
Hopefully the day will not be overly draining............and there will be perhaps a Fish & Chips break in between .............it always helps,making the long day out far more pleasing!!!

The sunshine is certainly uplifting me...........and yes,I need it!!

Feeling a tad better this morning, Dr gave me the biggest bottle I've ever seen of advanced formula gaviscon, aniseed flavour to take after every meal and it does seem to be working as I don't have such pain and I am not as nauseous. We are indeed complex beings aren't we! Thank you for all the kind messages 'you lovely lot'!
Mamissimo it is comforting to know that it is a fairly common reaction to all that is going on. So pleased when it will all be over!

Willow I had to look up the uses of a 3D printer and was amazed, your DH will be lost in his 'den' using that so no chance of getting under your feet. You may have to make an appointment to see him!

Ann you are a treasure to your DH but daily visits are indeed punishing for you. Do look after yourself as much as you can even if it is only a slow walk past the spring flowers on the way home. Molly will keep you right!

aggie your flowers are lovely! My 'inner gardener' wants to send you lots of trellis for that wall and all the beautiful climbers I can find plus a couple of trees to train up it and beyond to give you height. Can't stop looking at it and wondering which aspect the wall has!

Thank you Syn the wall has a network of very fine wires and we are training Clematis and climbing Hydrangea on them , we hope the forsythia will spread too . It is work in progress only 14 months in the making so far

aggie that sounds great. We have quite a bit of trellis because apparently it "takes the eye" especially while you wait for things to grow. We have been doing similar in our garden with clematis etc and we have sent a rambling rose, called Kiftsgate, on it's way up a big old damson tree. Inspired by the one Monty has as a backdrop in his Writer's garden. It has been in for two years now and is already over 6' high. Eventually we may have to curb it's enthusiasm. The other things are really taking their time much to my impatient dismay. I hope you understand that I use the royal 'we' as I am the dreamer and list maker hence the term 'inner gardener'.

soop, you will be well on your way to Vale of Leven today - via Loch Lomond? I doubt that the fish and chips there will measure up to Oban standards, but hope you find something equally tasty. I do hope your treatment plan is now in place and that it will be possible for you to have therapies closer to home. All that travelling must take it out of you both - especially the driver.
syn, Gaviscon Advance keeps my reflux well under control. If I happen to run out of it, I do suffer.
aggie, that wall is going to be a show piece. I wish I had walls instead of fences. At the moment all the foliage is bursting forth in its myriad colours. the wee red leaves on the ornamental malus are so pretty with the sunlight on them and soon to be joined by glorious pink blossom.
Panache, glad to hear that your 'estate' is being brought under control. It's always nice to be able to look our on an orderly garden. I wish...

Panache pleased to hear thst you have people sorting the garden areas, your DH will be able to relax a bit more seeing it tidy.
It is clearly a bit of a man thing as that is a problem for Himself too. He frets over everything he cannot do and stuff that has not been done because our gardener friend has not been well enough. Yesterday he came back to work and so Himself can see progress and is smiling again. Whooped!
Hope your DH's pain will be easier with being a bit more relaxed - you never know.

Good morning kitcheners, I am sitting on my sofa with a little GS currently going between me and Mr.Gravy he was so pleased to see us and we were greeted with hugs and kisses.

We are both jaded after an eight and a half hour overnight flight. The BA staff were fabulous and attentive.

I have one load in the washing machine already and several more to follow!!!

I shall miss my morning view of the beautiful blue sea, white sand and the palm trees, but it is lovely to be home.

Have tried to catch up with the comings and goings of this very special kitchen but so much has gone on.

Supposed to be seeing new baby today but got a call from DSD to say she is not up for visitors today. The baby would not settle at all last night so mum will be resting as much as she can. I think the hospital lets new mums home too soon in some cases. Oh well,cuddles will have to wait.

annodomini I have had fish anc chips from Oban and they were the best I had ever had!

gransal I’m surprised too that no-one has posted for several hours. I was beginning to think I had a problem with my iPad. Let’s hope we hear from Soop and our other friends in the morning,

I wondered about that too.
There was a bad accident today at Luss and the main trunk road has been closed. I think that may be the route Soop would take to the hospital. there are diversions in place.

I have just checked and there is still a very long diversion in place.
If I'm correct about the route, (I hope I'm wrong in my assumption) it will have been a very long day for Soop and Macsporran.

We’ve had a few periods recently when no one has posted. I think that sometimes we go quiet because we want to give people space. I know I sometimes don’t post because my news feels a little trite when so many are facing tough challenges.

But.....my GD had a lovely first birthday and here she is...and a duck cake on the side for everyone ?

She is gorgeous Mamissimo! Did you make the cake? It looks lovely.

That would be quite a difficult route to divert, if I remember correctly, Marydoll. The banks of Loch Lomond might not seem so 'bonnie' viewed from a huge traffic jam.

Marydoll thanks for the update. If they’ve been caught up in that traffic they must be exhausted.
