Morning Michael, Annie and all. It is so bright and sunny here in Berks. After my marathon laundry assault yesterday, I had it all blowing in the garden, when darkness descended and it hailed, hard and fast, soaking me, DH and the washing.
Appointment at hospital for DH shortly, but we have been lucky enough to get a volunteer driver for the return journey. Then volunteering this afternoon, for me.
I will make pancake batter before we go out, and leave it to stand until this evening. Hoping the lemons, in the fridge, are still OK!
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Frosty night here in South Yorkshire but the sun is shining now. I am still in the throes of this cold and feel as if I have swallowed a yard of barbed wire at the moment.?. Another housebound day keeping close company with a box of tissues then! Ann i could have written your post about whipping tops! Have a good day folks.

Good Morning all , wet and cold here , we ran into a snow blizzard yesterday , made for home to find no snow , I think we live in a micro climate

Good morning All x
It was sunny and bright first thing--nice and light too but now it's clouded over and doesn't look too promising.
No sign of the blasted workman yesterday after waiting all day---useless articles ! sad

Made the pancake mixture last night to sit in the fridge ready for lunchtime today. I don't know why I only make them on Shrove Tuesday because I do enjoy them.

Must ring to find out why the work wasn't done as promised yesterday as it's having a knock-on effect for other work to continue.

Hope everyone's day goes well with hospital appts etc. inc.

Good morning all. Brilliant sunshine in E.Northant - I hope it lasts! Discovered buttermilk pancakes in Waitrose yesterday and tried one last night - very nice toasted with honey. I'll try one with a scoop of icecream later. Pub quiz tonight so that should give the brain some excercise. Have a pleasant day everyone.

Good morning everyone.
DGC day today as was yesterday. No plans as yet as we were waiting to see how wet a day it may turn out to be. Looks grey so I think there will be plenty of showers.
DGS 3 has already mentioned pancakes, so yes, they will be a treat for today.
Painting and model making perhaps, oh and let's bring out my son's old Lego for some imaginative play too.
Have a wonderful day all.

Good morning all from a bright but slightly frosty Aberdeenshire. The sky is clear and I hope it stays like this all day.
Marydoll, I shall make Scotch pancakes too...drop scones to everyone else. I still use an ancient girdle that was my grandmother's.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Mornjng everyone from a dull and wet Fife. Quite gloomy looking today. My plan for today is to stay in bed if I can, find that a bit difficult to do but my cold, cough and sore throat are all back. I want to feel normal so will see if a day’s rest will help. No pancakes for me today. Hope today is good for everyone.

Good morning everyone from here in sunny but cold Essex.

I've been following GN for the last 5 years but this is my first post!

I'm newly retired after having to work the extra 5 years so this is my well earned me time.

I'm looking forward to being a part of your online community - I've enjoyed reading your posts and comments and now have the time to contribute.

Have a good day.

Good morning,a bright start here in Shropshire. We have planned to take DGD to Dunham Massey to do the Percy the Park Keeper trail but seeing the weather reports from that area maybe not.We will head over that way anyway as have planned to collect mum to take her with us.
Hope everyone has a good day and that all hospital appointments go well.

Nannytopsy Tue 05-Mar-19 08:53:25

Welcome Cassiemax! There is talk about those of us who lost pensions but nothing happens does it? I hope you enjoy your retirement as much as I am!

Good morning from a dreich Perthshire.

I have popped in to commiserate with you Brunette I was fighting fit again after the first bout of this lurgy but woke up with the same symptoms as you for round two?

Could do without our decorator starting today but thankfully he is not a stranger. ?. Oh well, back to gallons of honey and lemon drinks. Slainte and hope you don’t suffer for too long.

Brunette10 Tue 05-Mar-19 08:58:56

Thanks Kalu, bed for me today, hate this hanging around. Just looked out window and it’s SNOWING. Hope you feel better soon.

Brunette10 Tue 05-Mar-19 09:02:09

Welcome Cassiemax, yes I know that pension feeling too, I am now 8 years short. angry Hope you enjoy your very well earned retirement.

Cassiemax Tue 05-Mar-19 09:03:18

Thank you Nannytopsy - working the extra 5 years was such a shock, I was mentally ready to pack up work at 60 so the extra years become very tiring and the pension debate is still painful ? but ... I'm here now and like you enjoying every moment.

Kalu Tue 05-Mar-19 09:06:36

SNOW?. Off to check the weather forecast now?

Cosy day at home for both of us then.

BlueSapphire Tue 05-Mar-19 09:11:20

Good morning all from a bright and sunny Northampton.
I am about to make pancakes now for a late breakfast!
Must ring the theatre this morning to try and change the ticket I booked yesterday for DGD's panto at Easter. Silly me didn't read her mum's text properly and have booked the day DGD isn't dancing. If I can't change shall just have to book another ticket for the right day.
Out for health walk after lunch.
Welcome Cassiemax and best wishes to MrKitty.
Have a good day folks.

Marydoll Tue 05-Mar-19 09:16:42

Kalu, good to see you posting on the Good morning thread.
Cassiemix, glad you took the plunge to post!
Brunette, I think too much partying at the weekend, is why you are ill! grin
Take care and make the best of the rest in bed! flowers

Kalu Tue 05-Mar-19 10:07:03

Thank you Marydoll

A very warm welcome to you Cassiemix

Good morning everyone.
It's a bright, sunny and chilly morning here in South Yorkshire today. I've got a load of washing in so hope I can get it outside to dry.
Gas service engineer coming this afternoon, so I'm stuck indoors from 12 until he/she has been. They give you a time 12 - 6 pm, so can't plan anything until they've been!
Hope those of you feeling unwell start to feel better soon. ?

Nanny41 Tue 05-Mar-19 11:16:11
