I think all of you who cope with pain on a daily basis deserve a medal. I moan a bit (well a lot sometimes ?) about my tinnitus (especially when the brass band are playing in my head) and my aching knees and hands but you lot are amazing. Your ailments are mentioned now and again but honestly for the main part you are all so bubbly, interested and concerned for others and so supportive I don’t think we are aware at times how much you are suffering. You are a very brave lot and corner I hope you find something that works for you and doesn’t upset your digestion too much.
panache I find it is always a blessing to see Hannah and she certainly does bring sunshine into our lives and is in fact very gentle and loving. Nothing windy about her though - she is our DGD ?

soop Sun 17-Mar-19 14:25:11

It is a gloriously sunny day. The sea looks amazing. Good to be alive and able to pop my head around the door to see you lovely lot.

We've only just finished a very late breakfast. Finished off with a buttered slice of banana loaf...hand baked by Baggs. If I could, I may share a nibble with you lot. Sadly, I cannot. wink

Awoke to discover my pyjama top wet with blood. Motored to A&E in Campbeltown. Seen immediately. A stitch securing the drain into the wound had slipped. Doctor phoned R.A.I and told not to remove the drain. It was emptied instead. Fresh dressing applied. District nurse to visit tomorrow. GP to remove drain if poss on Tuesday. We shall attend our friend's funeral late morning Friday. After which, we return to see the consultant at the Vale of Leven for a proper assessment.

Just started eating breakfast when phone rang twice. One very lengthy call, one not so. Breakfast was coagulated and coffee cold when I returned.

Am about to have a freshly made coffee and a wee lie down until later this after. Love you loads. x

Greyduster Sun 17-Mar-19 15:30:52

Not a good start to your day, Soop; that must have been unnerving, but glad all is now back on track. Do take it easy.

We have just come back from a good long walk to the country park and back, shed a few calories, and called in at the supermarket to get a card for my sister in law who is in hospital. DH sloped off and came back with a bag of freshly baked sausage rolls?‍♀️. What do they say about the road to hell being paved with good intentions? I am hanging my head in shame!
I will look in later.

Afternoon all,

Glad you got it all resolved quickly soop , not what you want to wake up to! Sorry to hear of your 'breakfast interuptus' :-) , but the banana bread sounds delicious.

Oh Grey ….shame on you ….. let me take those sausage rolls off your hands- to help you avoid temptation you understand !!!

Congratulations on the safe arrival Maw. Looking forward to all the details.

We've had the full gamut of weather today, sun, windy, rain and finally hail !!!

Global warming has a lot to answer for . I am off to await the delivery of my delicious roast pork ( and the lions share of the crackling :-) ) .

Soop, what a shock for you this morning, glad it was sorted quickly and you are back home again?

soop Sun 17-Mar-19 18:07:35

A very warm welcome to 1inamillion. Make yourself comfortable. I may be able to cut a wee slice of banana loaf to welcome you to the kitchen. The rest of that lot appear to be calorie counting. wink

Wonderful news, Maw. Welcome to the world to the new member of your family. Let's pop a cork and drink to the bairns safe arrival. Just the one glass. We'll save a few bottles of bubbly for after lent.

A lovely lady called by to give me a hand-knitted prayer shawl. It's beautiful and the colours are perfect. She understands that we are not Church of Scotland but recognises that the Buddhist philosophy (our choice) is based on love and doing one's best for others.

I've done as you instructed. I had a lie down and fell fast asleep for over an hour. I shall now log off and leave every one of you with my love. I trust that you enjoy a peaceful evening.

Not yet fully caught up with all the news. I shall get there before too long. smile moon

Decided to try some gluten-free recipes from a well known magazine. So I have left a gluten free Victoria sponge with whipped cream and raspberries along with shortbread fingers on the side. Enjoy. Remember “a little of what you fancy does you good”!
soop hope your wound settles down.
maw what joy - a baby.
??? to everyone and a peaceful Sunday evening.

Congratulations on the birth of DGS Maw.
Take it easy soop, it is early days.

annsixty Sun 17-Mar-19 20:35:25

soop 19 years ago I was in hospital for a week after surgery for BC.
My drains (2)were in for 3 and 8 days.
All output was measured and recorded.
We were not allowed out until the recorded output was at a certain figure.
Even then I had massive swelling under my arm and an emergency visit was needed when it was decided to see if the fluid would be absorbed, which thankfully it was.
You are having to deal with that on your own.
I am so pleased I had the reassurance of medical staff on hand to deal with problems and daily physio to get full movement in the arm after total mode clearance.

Today it is all rush to get people home.
I hope things go well from now on but do not hesitate to call the professionals of you are at all concerned.

Swanny Sun 17-Mar-19 20:43:09

Really good advice ann

Gary has cut down a Torquay palm in my garden. I realised the foods could be used for Palm Sunday processions.
So, rectors wife collected them today.
She seems very nice, if tall! I’m 5’ 7”
