Crossed posts N&G ?. I will be more than happy to have the help of your feather duster brigade in cleaning up after the party.......or perhaps the party will just continue with them for a bit longer.?
I love a Conga...if only I could stand up.. seem to have come over a bit tipsy for some reason.
What a party panache. One of the best I’ve been to.?
?? Ok own up. Who just burst my balloons ?

GrandmainOz Mon 04-Mar-19 21:59:46

Happy Birthday panache
Lots of warm thoughts soop
kitty your poor friend, she really needs support quickly, dreadful situation for her

What fun this party is actually in the kitchen as I'm always to be found in the kitchen at parties usually elbow deep in suds washing all the glasses. I've brought my pink rubber gloves complete with the fur cuffs and the elegant ring on the middle finger specially for the occasion. However I've partaken of far too much red wine and have knocked several of the glasses off the draining board so please tread/dance carefully until I can bend down to get the shards into the dustpan without falling over!

I hope Mr & Mrs Corner have both popped in to share in the celebrations as 50 years is a great achievement.

Ann you also deserve a glass of something to celebrate your good news.

Soop good luck for tomorrow flowers

Oh dear the room is spinning a little now so I might have to leave the glasses until tomorrow. I have a friend coming in the morning I've not seen in years so I'll get them done before she arrives - I do hope she's not expecting cake - we appear to have eaten it all! grin

Mamissimo Mon 04-Mar-19 22:07:44

Just giving you three rings to let you know I’m home safe. I seem to have mislaid the feather boa that I use in my cabaret act and I have odd shoes on. Great night! Must do it again sometime ?

Urmstongran Mon 04-Mar-19 22:18:32

The last word on today’s party in the kitchengrin

(A nice change from some of the grumbling and whingeing elsewhere)
Now, whose birthday is it next?

Good luck Soop I hope somebody will have cleared up (as opposed to cleared off) before you get back. Safe journey!

dragonfly46 Mon 04-Mar-19 23:02:07

Brilliant maw my sentiments exactly!

Galen Mon 04-Mar-19 23:25:24

Just heard that a comedian is standing for President of Ukraine!
Well why not, they elected one in the USA.

Doodle Mon 04-Mar-19 23:30:03

What a fabulous party. Hope panache isn’t too worn out (hungover) tomorrow ?
The boys with the feather dusters have tidied up and all the leftovers are in the fridge for us to nibble tomorrow. The kitchen is spick and span.
All that remains is for me to reurn mamissimo’s boa - what an act. ?‍♂️ and find out who this sparkly thong belongs to. Marydoll would be my guess.
Aaah peace and quiet. Time to empty the remains of all the bottles into a nice big glass and finish the evening with a potent cocktail. Cheers ?

kittylester Tue 05-Mar-19 06:34:32

I'm just going to pretend that I haven't been into the kitchen. I haven't time to tidy it up and I didn't make the mess anyway so don't see why I should do it!

Swanny Tue 05-Mar-19 08:28:04

Wow! That was some party! Thanks panache, Mr and Mrs C and everyone who just wanted a reason to let their hair down. I don't remember going home but was in my own bed when I woke up this morning so that's alright grin

soop safe journeys and I hope your day goes well.

ann good news indeed. I'm sure 99% of getting a benefit is in using the same language on the forms as the 'social' learn when doing their qualifications smile

Hope you all have a good day. The sun is shining in a blue sky here and I just spotted a solitary flower on the apple tree sunshine

NanaandGrampy Tue 05-Mar-19 09:15:38

Morning all!

Wasn’t it nice to have some silly fun in the kitchen ? Thank you all for joining in , you made my day ( and night) ! I suspect in real life it would be just as much fun !

I think a quiet day might be in order - I’ve brought Rennes, Alta seltzer and iboprofen for all in need ? .

Good luck today Soop ! When all this faff is in your rear view mirror we’ll throw you a celebratory party ( I’ll start planning lol) .

Happy day all!

Charleygirl5 Tue 05-Mar-19 09:17:08

SwannY may I ask who with?

I slept very well last night having had some more wine when I cooked my supper. After yesterday I doubt if I will be looking at any,, never mind drinking it. You lot led me astray, asking me to test so many different types. I do not think I had a glass of anything.

annodomini Tue 05-Mar-19 09:34:40

Where am I? I think I must have dozed off when all that wine was sloshing around. It's quite cosy under this table...zzzzzz

Urmstongran Tue 05-Mar-19 09:51:16

Alkaline Seltzer please N&G you are a star! Got up this morning, dry mouth, eye makeup not removed, fuzzy head. That was some party! I ache a bit from the dancing too. Oh dear I don’t want to think about THAT.
?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Mar-19 09:55:31

I am just dragging my tired bod out of bed heading for the coffee machine and paracetamol ☕️?

Wishing you all a day of rest to recover from the PART OF YHE YEAR?????????

Nannytopsy Tue 05-Mar-19 10:16:26

I wondered if it was a fireman or one of the lads with the feather dusters Swanny?
DGS (5) is having a new set of grommets fitted today. The first set made so much difference before they fell out. I shall be glad to hear he is out of theatre!
Have a good day, everyone.

eilyann Tue 05-Mar-19 10:17:00

Just staggering out of bed! What happened to this morning ? and why is my head so ...... Ah. Just read previous posts. Don't remember much after bringing in comestibles when someone gave me a v large glass of red! Oh dear1 Do I have to apologise to anyone? If so I am very sorry. It must have been the vodka jelly - me being an abstemious type! grin
Still Lent tomorrow so I shall do penance !
Thinking of you today Soop. Onward and upward!

Panache Tue 05-Mar-19 10:28:59

My word is this really the day after? grin

And why have I a feather boa tied to my legs I ask, and yes in all my 80 years that was a party to beat all that went on before......................a massive thank you to Soop and each one of you that contributed to make this party swing!!!
Yes I do half remember swinging whilst on the table and I certainly have the aches to prove it today!!!

I thought I would make a start in clearing up the absolute devastating state of our kitchen........only to find friends already up to their elbows in suds, and feather dusters reaching high and low!! Perhaps I shall be the scrubber?!

After the mayhem, joy and uplift comes the day after, and of course our thoughts turn to those again that are hurting and finding life so difficult, especially Soop for all her bravado, it is not the best few weeks in her life,or that of our Macsporran and I am very aware of this.
I hope you find some peace of mind later Kitty as you really had just about enough of certain folk last night.............most understandable indeed.
Again it was lovely hearing your upbeat news Ann after what has been a mammoth traumatic time, and so hopefully, for all of you facing hardship you will be uplifted by the fact that, in turn, we all get a leg up and lets hope it will be yours very soon.
Thinking very much of you Synonymous and what is ahead for your dear man,no small matter and it does drain your very being.

So although I did my best to join in the spirit of a party yesterday I too have to knuckle down this day,and start preparing ...........hopefully for my dear man`s homecoming. He faces a barrage of scans etc this day.

Still feeling woozy and I think the foods as well as the drinks have caused my inners much mischief....................but hey!! who cares?!.......It was a smashing party and one long to be remembered.
Thanks to my lovely GN friends and Soop`s Kitchen.
Simply the best!!!

dragonfly46 Tue 05-Mar-19 10:45:32

So pleased you enjoyed the party Panache I hope Mr Panache's scans prove to be fruitful and positive.

Soop thank you for a great party last night and I hope all goes well with your pre-op today.

The sun is shining and the sky is blue - that must bode well for all those with problems!

Mamissimo Tue 05-Mar-19 12:59:52

Honey Beagle and I need a quiet day today......but the roofers are coming. ?

Galen Tue 05-Mar-19 14:59:03

Has anybody heard of ‘ leaf fish’?
Apparently my 2 1/2 yr old dgs is in his garden with a net trying to catch them!

Greyduster Tue 05-Mar-19 15:24:50

I catch them all the time, Galen - and twig fish, and weed fish.......?. Don’t discourage the boy - he’ll move on to bigger and better things!

Galen Tue 05-Mar-19 15:41:40

Bless their imagination

Swanny Tue 05-Mar-19 15:42:55

Hmm, perversely pleased that I'm not the only one suffering self-inflicted aches today but boy, it was definitely worth it grin Glad you enjoyed the party Panache

To Charleygirl and Nannytopsy what happens beneath my duvet stays beneath my duvet although those Butlers in the Buff certainly tickled my fancy with their feather dusters ... blush

Must dash, I hear another cup of coffee calling me. I've left some ginger biscuits by the kettle, ginger is good for troubled tums I believe.
