?Come into the garden, Maud! The black bat night hath flown......??. I’ll have a double Lemsip and a packet of crisps, please ??. If Panache can’t blow her candles out, I can always come and sneeze on the cake!

cornergran Mon 04-Mar-19 15:09:12

Quick whizz in.

Wishing you a birthday full of good surprises, panache, the Kitchen is looking more than festive. Hope Mr Panache was comfortable when you saw him. If anyone has room I’ve left some more sausage rolls on the side, eillyann’s seem to have disappeared. We can’t have a party without a sausage roll.

Delighted at your good news ann. A weight lifted. Hope Molly has recovered.

How you doing anno?

I know this is a bit late but all good wishes for the treatment plan ahead soop, your spirit will carry you through.

After our early family celebration we made it to our 50th anniversary without mishap. Truly wonder where time goes. Mr C deserves a medal that’s for sure.

Sorry, must rush. Many apologies to all I have missed out. Be careful out there everyone.

Greyduster Mon 04-Mar-19 15:28:25

Congratulations Corner and Mr Corner? on reaching your 50th ??. ?

soop Mon 04-Mar-19 15:37:35

It's awfully crowded in our kitchen. The noise is something else. Wouldn't mind betting that that lot from the Argy Caff have come in disguised as respectable peoples. The police van keeps driving slowly by. The occupants look like they could do with a bit of fun. Who will volunteer to dash outside and flag them down. Any offers? grin

soop Mon 04-Mar-19 15:46:31

corner Us lot have reserved part of the chaise for you and your husband to loll on. Happy anniversary to you. It's a very happy day all round.

Grey as you are poorly, I've placed the best tartan rug on the rocking chair. You can snuggle down and enjoy the mayhem in relative peace.

Door bell ringing. Who wants to let the rozzers in? I wouldn't be surprised if they are the four hunks invited to entertain Panache, sneaking in in fancy dress.

Who has left the scarlet feather boa draped over the cucumber triangular sarnies. Some folk have no manners. Marydoll why is that father Christmas hanging around in the passage? Grab him, quick. grin

soop Mon 04-Mar-19 15:50:45

By gum...how standards slip when the bubbly is being quaffed. Anyone would think we're celebrating something or other. Hang on...that's what it must be. I blame Panache. She will go and have a big birthday. And on a Monday, if you please. party

Marydoll Mon 04-Mar-19 15:58:50

Who is casting aspersions on my lily white character ???
The Argy was very empty, when I popped in earlier. I wonder where Argies can be?
I did hear then talking about what sounded like a pancake party, then again it could have been Panache's party. grin

heavensjoys Mon 04-Mar-19 16:05:42

Dear Panache, have a really wonderful birthday, you deserve the very best day.x

GrannyGravy13 Mon 04-Mar-19 16:11:19

Happy 50th Anniversary Corner and Mr,C.

Have just replenished the buffet, I added some healthy bits just in case?

?????????????????????

Charleygirl5 Mon 04-Mar-19 16:11:41

You lot are not supposed to be drinking alcohol before 6pm. The nearest hospital is hardly coping with the trips and falls in A&E at present without this lot, some who have balance problems before alcohol touches their lips.

corner I wished Mr. Corner happy birthday last week, I totally forgot about your wedding anniversary. I hope you had a lovely meal out with your family.

Please do not overwork that poor man, he needs his rest.

soop Mon 04-Mar-19 16:43:26

Welcome to the madhouse party heavensjoys. The more the merrier.

Charleyg No worries, as they say, no one needs to leave the premises. All firmly rooted to their chairs. Sleeping bags aired. That Marydoll and her lot can sleep in the not-so-poorly men's extension. Just a word of warning. Hold tight to your husbands. The party could get totally out of hand. Please remember that us lot have standards. hmm

I do hope that our bubbly hasn't been diluted with the infamous poteen. I used some in the petrol tank some time ago. The car went berserk. You can't be too careful. grin

soop Mon 04-Mar-19 16:46:47

Will someone keep a beady eye on the birthday girl. She appears to be doing the okey pokey wotsit together with her four fellas. They look like they need to lie down in a dark room. Poor things...grin

soop Mon 04-Mar-19 16:51:17

I have to say that I've had a right royal time together with you lot. We should celebrate more birthdays in a like manner.

MacSporran has asked me politely if I'm free to do a few jobs in my actual kitchen. You cannot get the staff, it appears.

A lovely sunny close to the day. We head out for pre-op assessment mid morning. I hope to join you all later in the day.

Take excellent care of yourselves and each other.

smile moon

kittylester Mon 04-Mar-19 17:37:46

I turn my back for a few minutes..........................shock

Wishing you well for tomorrow soop, I hope the hangover isn't too bad.

Ann, that is good news.

Sorry to spoil the party atmosphere but I need to let off steam. I have just runbg a lady at the end of her tether because her DH has vascular dementia. He was diagnosed a year ago. At that time, her GP wanted to impart the news over the phone and was most put out when she wanted an appointment in the surgery. At the appointment he gave her no advice regarding support (eg Alzheimer's Society, Social Services etc) but, as she and her DH were leaving in a daze he told her that 'It will only get worse!'

I am so flipping mad that I could go round and thump him. Poor woman was in tears on the phone, her husband has become aggressive and she doesn't know which way to turn. How crass and uncaring can you be?

Sorry, back to the party. I'm going to drown my sorrows!!!

callgirl1 Mon 04-Mar-19 18:03:20

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Panache!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs, Corner!
Best wishes for tomorrow Soop, I hope all the alcohol has left your system by the time you arrive at the hospital!
I know it isn`t Christmas but I`ve brought mince pies, they`ll go well with Prosecco, and I love them all year round. I`ve also brought port and lemonade, in case anyone wants a share of my favourite drink.

Mamissimo Mon 04-Mar-19 18:20:00

Must have nodded off......have I missed pin the porkie on the politician? ?

Panache Mon 04-Mar-19 18:25:21

Having slapped on some much needed colour on my face and wrapped myself in some smellies, a pressie from my man (via the web)donning my silkie jumpsuit....... this gal is ready to party and some!!!
Cannot get my stillettoes on as they haven`t graced my feet for a few centuries!

Indeed I am overwhelmed by the real party atmosphere created by our Hostess with the mostest, and aided and abetted by so very many of you.
I am in full party mood!!!
The banners and balloons make the kitchen such a warm and inviting place with the tables still virtually groaning under the wonderful contributions.A wonderful spread indeed.
Whilst surprisingly, the drink ......som ething for every taste bud .......and believe me some of the stuff is lethal !!! has held out...........yet!!
Already enjoying the games that Maw seems to have instigated, mind you it became rather heated when Soop`s quartet of delectable males sort of arrived on the scene whilst I was in that corner.......??!
Whilst I am almost hoarse from the sing a long, and already the pianist is a bit of a blur, surely it can`t be the handsome Macsparron??? dicing with those ivories?

My man was truly beaming when I related how you had all contributed to make this such a great 80th for me, and I am sure it will only egg him on to recovery again.

I cannot thank you enough and Soop I sincerely hope being so active in giving me such pleasure this day will have helped you as these D days have arrived, please know you will be the centre of our love and thoughts. Some of us have walked down a similar road, so understand how it is all too well, but we shall be as one body of love and support to you both as you meet each of these challenges with a brave face, and all we ask is a fully restored fun loving Soop in return.

Also may I invite you Corner to join in and share with me, taking this as a small gift towards your * C`s* birthday and your 50th Wedding Anniversary with my blessings.

Whilst apologies * Kitty* I rather think you are not in the mood for this gaiety and after reading your post I can well understand..........so please simply excuse these moments of madness.Reality soon brings you bang down to earth.

Nannytopsy Mon 04-Mar-19 18:27:54

Good grief, look at the mess!! What a good job it is virtual!
All the best for tomorrow Soop and I hope you won’t be driving!

dragonfly46 Mon 04-Mar-19 18:45:23

Soop and others thank you for a great party. I love party games!

Happy anniversary corner it is a great milestone to reach.

kitty I understand your frustration. I have a friend in exactly the same position as your poor lady and is looking around for what help is available. At the moment she has had contact with Help for Carers.

Sar53 Mon 04-Mar-19 18:51:27

Very late reading the posts today, our bathroom has been gutted so lots of noise and mess and only just cleared up.
A very Happy Birthday to Panache. It sounds like a wonderful time has been had by all. Very best wishes to Mr P.
Good luck to Soop for tomorrow and Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Corner.
Good news for Ann, I'm so pleased for you.
I'd love a glass of bubbly, cheers to you all !!!

Charleygirl5 Mon 04-Mar-19 19:02:36

OMG I fell asleep= that will be the fault ofN&G wanting me to drink and I drink so little.

I only hope that MacSoporran is sober enough to drive tomorrow and that the alcohol is out of your system soop or you will be having surgery around Christmas. All the very best anyway for tomorrow. Have a decent meal tonight if the stomach will take it.

Panache you really are a disgrace- you will have to stay in that chair for a while yet. You call it slight dizziness, I call it alcohol poisoning. You must take plenty of other fluids please.

Urmstongran Mon 04-Mar-19 19:03:37

Gosh I could hear you lot halfway up the road! My goodness, the kitchen’s a mess! Most of you are quite tiddly as the laughter and shrieking in the corner will testify......

Oh well, what can I do but join in? Pass me a glass of bubbles please - ooh and I’ll have one of those mince pies too if I may?

CHEERS everyone! x

NanaandGrampy Mon 04-Mar-19 21:17:33

Conga !!!!

Woo hoo!!

And many congratulations Corner on your 50th! How fabulous!!

Don’t worry about the mess, I have engaged Butlers in the Buff to do some casual tidying ! I do love a man with a feather duster. ???

Now pass me a sausage roll please and has Panache blown out her candles because I have some seriously hunky young firemen on standby ??

I’m going to regret this tomorrow but let’s open another bottle of bubbles ! ???

Doodle Mon 04-Mar-19 21:23:50

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Corner on their 50th wedding anniversary too. ???. And thank you for the extra sausage rolls. Not sure what happened to all those we had earlier (although I might have consumed a fair number of them ?)
Hope all goes well tomorrow soop.
Don’t worry about the kitchen I’ll clear it all up later. Compared to the stuff I had to tackle in the Argy cellar (don’t ask ?) it will be a doddle.
So sorry about your friend kitty . She needs to get in touch with SS or the local organisation in her area that deals with this as soon as possible. Aggression is one of the more horrid aspects of this terrible illness and I think specialist nursing care will soon be needed. My DB who was the most gentle of people began to hit out at others when he got confused or frightened or agitated. He went into care shortly after and the wonderful home he was in found out what it was that triggered his outbursts him and managed to work out a way of helping him so as not to upset him. It was a phase of his last year and he did not continue to be aggressive. He would have been mortified if he knew that he had hit someone.

Urmstongran Mon 04-Mar-19 21:26:15

My kind of woman N&G! I have a large one please. ??? Enough Prosecco.... I’m on the single malt now - well it is a celebration! The soles of my shoes are sticking to this kitchen floor. It’s going to need some serious scrubbing in the morning ...
