Anno - so sorry to hear about your fall. I know the feeling all too well, I've done it twice in the last few months, but not stitches . b'h.

I use a stick now. I know I'm weak on my right side where I had a hip replacement.

Fennel are you aware that if you use a stick and it is because you had a THR on the right, you should use the stick on the left. Lecture over, I will retreat and drink my lovely cup of coffee.

I had my left hip done so use my stick on the right , I know that is the correct way , but I find using my left hand for anything is so uncomfortable and always found it hard to persuade anyone to take the stick with the left hand !

I have knitted knockers for my midwife DiL to demonstrate breastfeeding. We have almost finished tidying upstairs - the estate agents will be summoned before too long!

Fennel, funny you should ask if I have a stick. I use one when my knees are bothering me. I'd left it in the car because it's such a short distance from the car park to the shop and I get good support from the trolley. Grey, the frame is titanium and it must have taken a good clout to bend it. The lenses survived well - apart from a noticeable blood stain.
ann, poor you and poor Molly. That invading cat is a destructive beast. I wonder what measures you can take to keep him at bay.

The place from which the fridge was moved today was preferred by both MrB and me to where it used to be and was removed from so that that corner could be painted (only base coat so far though). The freezer is now in what, some months ago, was the fridge corner, and the fridge is now where the freezer used to be. The space that was emptied of fridge today used to be where the tumbledryer was, which tumbledryer we inherited from the people whose house we bought in Oxfordshire in 1998. It was already old then and lived in the garage, but it did work. Recently it died and we took it to the dump. So, in a way, the death of the tumbledryer—which didn't get used much anyway because we have two gnus (old-fashioned overhead airers on a pulley system) but was still useful once in a while—was the catalyst that got the hokey-cokey of fridge and freezer which allows, eventually and in due course, the painting of the wash-house bit by bit over several eras. This is how we roll on the Boggy Brae.

There's still the washing-machine corner to get at. It shall be moved minimally!

My mum makes tea like boot polish. I didn't know you could make it any other way till I left home and began to make my own. Boot polish tea is probably why I mainly drank milk until I was eighteen.

I too am probably using my stick on the wrong side, i.e. the same side as my TKR, but it just doesn`t work for me the other way round.
Soop, I`d love to paraglide, but what I`ve really always hankered after doing is wing walking. Everyone I tell says I`m crackers!

I’ll help N&G . I’m fully qualified to operate a balloon pump so will get cracking on that. I’ve put a box of party poppers in the corner for when the birthday girl arrives. Here goes with the balloons???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? There we are 80 balloons for the birthday girl just don’t go popping any or else.
As for a birthday gift I’ve decided on a nice scarf ? to keep panache warm in this windy weather.

The bunting is a brilliant idea Maw i love it as it always makes an event look festive and cheerful! All these red balloons ? such fun! I lost count but I’ll take your word for there being 80 of them. It smells like a rubber factory in here though but I daren’t open the door too wide as it’s blowing a hooley outside. I shall have to watch wear I plant my feet as I’m off home now - I don’t want to pop any! x

Well Freya certainly seems to have reached our neck of the woods, it’s wild outside. The fence separating us from the house next door is a poor fragile thing, I hope it makes it through the night! Our neighbours, whose responsibility that one is, keep talking about replacing it.... after tonight’s winds it may be a necessity!

An 80th birthday bash for Panache sounds like a good idea, love the balloons and bunting. In case I don’t get into the kitchen tomorrow I’ve left a bag of sparkly table confetti on the side, some party poppers and aan extra bottle of bubbly just in case it’s needed. After all you can never have too much bubbly can you?

It’s been an enjoyable weekend here, a pleasant jaunt out yesterday, good times with various friends both yesterday and again today. We even managed to catch up on some outstanding domestic bits and pieces amidst it all.

Apologies to all I’ve missed, if it’s you it wasn’t intended!
