Always a warm hearted and uplifting welcome awaits and whatever your difficulties, you leave fully enrapped in the warmth of Soop`s Kitchen with a smile and hope in your heart.

Indeed that trip was quite a big buggeration I would say Anno and I am so sorry,it would seem you really have something to show for your unplanned "trip" plus probably something of a longer term scar, but thank goodness it was not even worse.
Plus it is always heartwarming when you are shown such kindness and caring from strangers,it does help enormously and gives you that warm glow inside on thinking about it......... once the bigger trauma has settled.
Here`s hoping there will be no lasting damage.Concealers should help covering any scar.

Bellanonna...........my appointment has been re instated for april thankfully .........and yes tomorrow I celebrate my 80th......my man`s turn next February.

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 12:32:57

"Knitted Knockers"...well, well, well, that's given me a really good belly laugh.

May I take a few moments to say a heartfelt thank you for such kind words. I feel soggy-eyed. What a great bunch of lovely Granspals we have here in our kitchen. I want to hug each and every one of you.

Bless you. flowers in abundance would be grand. IHowever I can only manage the following. flowers flowers flowers flowers flowers flowers flowers flowers ad infinitum.

Baggs Sun 03-Mar-19 12:34:49

Yikes, anno! That sounds painful. I hope your normal colour returns asap!

GrannyGravy13 Sun 03-Mar-19 12:35:05

Panache, so sorry that your birthday will be marred by Mr.Panache being poorly.

We shall have a virtual party in soops kitchen for you, if that is ok with you soop?

I shall make an extra special cake in your honour ??

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 12:39:26

anno Your trip and landing face down will have hurt and shaken you up good and proper. I'm sorry to say that the bruising will get steadily more dramatic. Feet up. Us lot will pamper you.

Panache I understand that your birthday is tomorrow. I cannot resist saying a very happy birthday in prospect. I've two years before I can celebrate my 80th. I've booked a tandum para gliding flight with my son. We're to fly over the Sussex downs.

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 12:42:45

GrannyGravy Please make a stonking big birthday cake for Panache. Us lot will all enjoy a very large slice. I shall provide a massive bottle of bubbly. N&G is a party girl. She will decorate the kitchen accordingly. MacSporran will play the pianoforte.

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 12:47:54

Dear MrPanache us lot are rooting for you.

Baggs are you any good at "knitting knockers"? If so, I may need to place an order. wink

dragonfly46 Sun 03-Mar-19 12:56:20

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Panache. I will be joining the party in the kitchen tomorrow. I hope Mr Panache is being well looked after and improves. Pleased you got your appointment changed. It is really rubbish when both of you are ill.

Anno that sounds quite a tumble. I did the same some time ago but fell off my bike so I now have a rakish scar in my left eyebrow! They would not let me alone with my husband in the hospital - I think they thought he was the cause!!

If Baggs is taking orders for knitted knockers can I put an order in please? Don't they get heavy in a swimming costume though?

Just been to the garden centre and bought a couple of roses so had better brave the weather and dig them in!

annodomini Sun 03-Mar-19 13:01:30

soop, if you are not careful, you will have hundreds of 'knitted knockers' turning up in the post! I have seen the items about these somewhere and wondered if they might be itchy!
Thanks, everyone, for your sympathy. At the moment I look as if I have badly mis-applied some purple eye shadow. Alternatively, Frankenstein's monster. However, the initial muzziness has worn off and I will be able to go down to the optician tomorrow to see if my slightly bent glasses' frame can be fixed. I'm making do with an older pair which still works for me.

Charleygirl5 Sun 03-Mar-19 13:48:53

N&G delighted to hear you have made a couple of dental appointments- not my favourite place but unfortunately very necessary.

I think I may be visiting tomorrow to pick up Sam- he is being seriously not cared for properly, poor little mite.

Glad you have another appointment Panache but so sorry to hear that Mr. P is in hospital. Happy birthday for tomorrow. There are so many buggerations in the kitchen at present- has old age been knocking on more doors than usual?

soop so pleased that things are working out and in a short period of time you will be making yet another trip to the hospital. After everything goes smoothly you can then give a thought to the drop bot buggeration.

Chewbacca Sun 03-Mar-19 13:57:59

Annodomini I'm so sorry to hear of your contretemps with the Aldi kerb. I'm not far away; please let me know if I can be of any practical help to you. smile

annodomini Sun 03-Mar-19 14:10:42

Thanks, Chewbacca. I should be fit enough tomorrow to get out and about but if I need any help, I will be in touch.

annsixty Sun 03-Mar-19 14:17:31

Sorry to read that "anno".
You will be having your own file drawer at hospital if you aren't more careful.
Really bad night , I didn't lock the cat flap carefully last night and was woken to a cat fight in the hall at 4:30am.
Suffice it to say it took me well over an hour to get the invader out.
It broke two vertical blinds and scattered ornaments off window sills before I cornered it in the conservatory and got it out of the door.
Molly won't leave my side today and I came back to bed after lunch, I was so tired.

Greyduster Sun 03-Mar-19 14:30:32

Good grief, Soop! Paragliding over the Sussex Downs? You are a braver lady than me, though I have watched these folks doing it in the Peak District and thought it must be marvellous! As for doing it with my son, he is more of a scardycat than me! Sure you will be in good safe hands with your lad!

Anno that sounds nasty - you were lucky just to bend the frames on your glasses. I assume you have shatterproof lenses. Hope you’re feeling more comfortable soon.

Panache may I wish you a very happy special birthday for tomorrow, and I am sure someone in the kitchen will come up with a cake. I would oblige, but am crowded out of my kitchen this afternoon by a man making soup. Lots of soup. A nuclear winter’s worth of soup!!

N&G poor Sam! What a bad mother you are, sending him home in the rain!?. Hope he doesn’t sulk! Your forthcoming meet up sounds like something to look forward to! Especially if there is no-one there looking over the table saying “you really shouldn’t eat that y’know!” Push the boat out!

I woke up with a sore throat this morning and grumbled about having DH’s cold, from which he seems to have recovered. “You should have a couple of days in bed, like I did”, says he. I told him only men do that, and anyway, if I take to my bed, there won’t be anything nice to eat! That scared him, so I am not having a couple of days in bed! (The very idea!). It scared me too, as he only knows how to make cheese sandwiches, beans on toast, and boiled eggs! And industrial quantities of soup!

GS and his minders were supposed to be coming to lunch today but have cancelled due to his partying and DD’s running commitments. It will be roast pork for two, then, and I am deeply disappointed as he is such an appreciative diner!

It has been raining steadily here all day but we are not, thus far, being blown from here to Hathersage by Freya! Good name for a storm. GS had a friend in his class at junior school called Freya. Blonde, elfin, but likewise a force to be reckoned with!?

Well enough prattle from me! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hugs for all who need them and apologies to those I have missed.

Greyduster Sun 03-Mar-19 14:37:02

Ann our posts crossed. What a thing to happen! I hope you sent it on it’s way in a manner it is not likely to forget, and that the damages can be repaired. Poor Molly, and poor you!?

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 15:09:26

Oh, ann, I can barely begin to imagine the stressful incident that happened in the early hours. Poor Molly and poor ann ...I'm willing to bet that you won't be forgetting to lock the cat flap from hereon.

Greyduster Wouldn't you just know that your dear man's snotty bug would find it's way to you. Now, you must do as us lot suggest. Rule one being...you are in need of a bucket load of TLC or else us lot come knocking at your door to protest in the noisiest most unlady-like manner. The rest lies with MrGrey. grin shock

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 15:11:52

The black cat visited after dark. He/she ate a full bowl of the best quality feline dry food, took a long drink, cleaned whiskers and scooted back into the forest. We were thrilled to bits. Doesn't take much to put a grin on our faces.

Baggs Sun 03-Mar-19 16:21:40

Hmm. Knitted knockers, eh? Someone once gave me a book about arty crochet in which there was a crocheted penis. Actually, I think crochet might be a better medium for knockers too.

Today I have finally understood MrBaggs's working pattern when it comes to home decorating: it is geological in time scale. He asked me to help him move the fridge (again) today so he could get at the wall behind it. My hopes of progress went up, only to be quietly disappointed: he will start work on the wall, perhaps, next weekend. I've forgotten how long it has taken to get to that bit of wall—several geological eras anyhow. Hey ho.

I shall comfort myself with an almond and marmalade shortbread snadwich (sic). I made them this morning. Dig in, peeps. Mr Baggs isn't allowed to have any.

Baggs Sun 03-Mar-19 16:23:41

ann, good grief! What a fright! Poor you and poor Molly!

eilyann Sun 03-Mar-19 16:45:57

Anno you must live close to me as I saw your 'buggeration' on FB! Next time I'm in Aldi I shall look out for a lady with a black eye and scar! Wish you better

Charleygirl5 Sun 03-Mar-19 16:49:16

ann that must have been awful- Tara's bully is too thick to work out how to get in the catflap but that does not stop Tara screaming her head off inside making me think an army of cats were murdering her.

I hope that Molly is okay and has recovered from the trauma.

Baggs why did Mr. Baggs want the fridge moved forward an entire week before starting painting? Will it be like the painting of the Forth bridge, once he has finished it will be time to start again! Better you than me but I suppose that is the cheapest option.

soop I was delighted to read that the cat had a lovely fulfilling supper last night and did not go to sleep on an empty tum.

The wind is picking up in my area of London. Unfortunately, tomorrow is bin emptying day. I do not want to retrieve my bins yards down the road.

Anneliese63 Sun 03-Mar-19 17:00:29

I know a bit about knitted knockers. You contact them, giving your size, and they are knitted to order. They also do one to wear when swimming that doesn’t absorb the water and get too heavy. This is the website. www.kkukciowix.com/. I intended to volunteer when I retired as I love knitting, but haven’t got round to it yet.

I’m so sorry that so many of ‘us lot’ are having so many problems. But you are all so strong, and and it’s good that we give such support to each other. On a personal note, DGH (who is quite severely disabled) has been diagnosed with colitis. As there is no cure, they will try to control it. Fortunately she is a very happy child, and copes amazingly well.

Thinking of all my friends in the kitchen. flowers

Baggs Sun 03-Mar-19 17:01:29

Baggs why did Mr. Baggs want the fridge moved forward an entire week before starting painting?

I think it's called Expert Procrastination, charley. Having come downstairs this morning all willing and let's move the fridge, his this weekend's allotted effort in the decorating department was all used up. I'm not getting my hopes up for next weekend.

Anneliese63 Sun 03-Mar-19 17:06:31

Oops! Meant DGD!

soop Sun 03-Mar-19 17:13:03

Okay, Baggs, forget the knitted knockers for now, I shall indulge in a few pieces of almond marmalade thingy instead.
A lady with whom I worked in the village pharmacy in Cornwall, knitted MacSporran a colourful "willy warmer". It remains in his underpant drawer. He claims it's too scratchy for comfort. shock
Thank you for explaining Mr Baggs liking for moving stuff well in advance of a paint job. You may get to prefer the fridge being relocated. Or not!

I'm away to peddle on the exercise bike that goes no place. Senseless, except it does wonders for the circulation after far too long spent stuck to this chair.

Charleyg the wind was fierce. It has become much more "subdubed" as my lovely late Nana used to say.

MacSporran has baked a very fine loaf. It smells heavenly.

Wishing you all a pleasant evening. All things being equal, I shall pop in to help celebrate Panaches birthday throughout tomorrow. smile moon
