Great having you heading the table in our kitchen "retreat" Soop, the inspiration you show in the face of cancer surgery is admirable, and so helpful to the many others just recieving such a diagnoses.Long may you be at the head of our table I say............with a gentle accompanying cwtch from Wales.
There are many firms specialising in bras with pockets for prothesis,I started off with www.amoena.com/uk-which my Hospital actually dealt with,then later I found www.nicolajane.com as I wanted swim wear when I got daring! and latterly even good old M&S turned up trumps..........cotton is certainly advised and I would agree with that.

Back with you lovely lot with a on my face. Thank you, Panache for your comments regarding a supportive bra. Yesterday one of the two lady surgeons gave me a huge amount of info' contained in a smart record file. Tremendously helpful. Very reassuring. Wonderful NHS.

At the hour of six I shall raise a decent glass of G&T to all of you. I shall toast your fortitude and spirit and ongoing friendship. You lot are the creme de la creme. Not sure whether I've got that correct. If not, please put it down to my advancing years and oftimes scattery brain. You know what I mean. Enough said.

It has been a day of mixed weather. Some rain. Some sunshine. A lot of blustery wind to whip the the waves into white horses.

A belated welcome to the newest recruits of the kitchen, I hope you've managed to have a look from the window and at the house and garden soop and MacSporran have created for themselves. The kitchen is in a truly magnificent setting.

Lovely photos from you clever people again, and the one of the creature who staggered from the bushes is fantastic. I certainly wouldn't have hung around long enough to hold the camera steady to snap that!

Galen extremely good advice about appealing decisions. A friend of a friend was refused a much-needed and warranted benefit recently so the friend went with her to an appeal and had permission to speak for her. When the facts were stated (rather than 'Well I manage as best I can)') the benefit was awarded.

soop I have read somewhere about knitted prosthetics including some for use in swimming costumes (might have been on GN or Pinterest). Some people say they are more comfortable. I wouldn’t know but I think the advice/suggestions/support you are getting from fellow cancer survivors is most valuable. You are all amazing and soop you have shown such courage in all your posts be it with this latest problem or your long going drop bot. You are a wonderful person and we are all so lucky that you started this thread and continue to be it’s anchor. You are an example to us all. ??

But I’ve had a lovely evening with family, fondly reminiscing and celebrating mum’s life and being grateful, looking around the dining room table at our daughter’s, for the legacy she left behind ❤️

This kitchen is such a comforting safe haven and although a newbie, I am grateful for it already.

Off to my bed now. It’s been a long day one way and another. Sleep well everyone.

Goodness, just catching up with all the news! So many buggerations and so much warmth, courage and humour. Such lovely ladies, all of you. Must pop in more often so I can keep up. I agree with all the lovely things said about our super soop.

Indeed I will echo the sentiments above and declare this Kitchen the supreme retreat,a place where we can learn to let rip all those "buggerations" that life sometimes throws in our directions.Sharing amongst understanding friends is such a relief and we leave here with a much lighter heart.
Now it is our turn to be strong and supportive of our Soop the captain of our ship!!

Further to the Knitted Knockers dear friends, I am one that can vouch for their comfort....... although I have fairly recently become a convert!!!
Perhaps not quite right for dear Soop at this early stage but I totally agree with you about the mine of information out there under the wing of the NHS....... IF you know what buttons to press.Alas I add, it was not always so sadly.

Whilst thinking my man was on that long road to recovery following his stroke it seems his COPD condition with serious asbestos related issues have reared their ugly head, and he has an infection on the Lung walls.............so back again to Hospital and I have had to cancel my own apppointment for a Gynae biopsy............not quite the big 80th birthday I had sort of hoped for........but hey! at least we are still both here and that is a very big plus........amongst our own ongoing "buggerations"

So many with their own issues and I can but wish each one of you strength to cope and see them through.
Although no longer the glorious sunshine outside we shall retain the memory and look forward to the next batch of golden sunshine!!!

Oh Panache, I’m so sorry to hear of this further setback for your husband and the need to cancel your own appointment. What an awful double whammy. I do hope the biopsy can be reinstated without too much delay. I do hope too that Mr P makes a speedy recovery with the appropriate medication in hospital. Is it your, or his, birthday? And when is it?

I have my very own self-imposed buggeration, having tripped on a kerb in the Aldi car park on Friday. I came down on my head and got a gash on my eyebrow. Everyone was so kind - helped me to sit up and called an ambulance. A trainee manager from the store brought out a blanket to keep me warm. A&E was, fortunately not as chaotic as so often rumoured and I was seen by a doctor who thought the gash could be glued, but the nurse he sent to do the deed begged to differ and decided to stitch it instead. So here I am with a black, or purple, eye socket and four stitches in my eyebrow - not a pretty sight, but then, what's new?
'Bloody but more or less unbowed', I thank my lucky stars that I am recovering and all will be well, apart from an 'interesting' scar!

At the gym on Friday we started wondering when do we go from falling over and tripping up to "having a fall", it caused us to laugh for ages at the various reasons, the winner being when we are perceived by others "to be old" ??

Morning all ,

Just squeaked in before midday. Little bit of liquid sunshine here so I am safely ensconced in the West Wing making some birthday cards.

Sam joined me for a while but was horrified to find if he wanted to go back to the house he had to walk through the rain. I swear he looked at me as if to say ' Really?????- carry me !!!' Needless to say he had to make his own way back lol

Sorry to hear MrP is poorly again. Hope they can make him more comfortable at the hospital.

Sounds like my kind of evening * Urmstongran* , nothing nicer than a table full of family in my opinion.

Its so true that Soop set the tone for the kitchen and now many kitchens down the line it remains a kind place, a place full of support without judgement. That's hard to beat.

I am quite excited , I am meeting with old friends from uni on Friday One of them has been my friend for over 40 years - how did that happen?? I know we will have a wonderful gossipy time eating nice stuff and just generally enjoying each others company.

I bit the bullet Charley and made the dentists apts but the earliest was April 11th and the 2nd one on the 25th April, so that will cast a long shadow over me until its all done . But needs must when the devil drives as my gran would have said !!

Anyway, I am off to try NOT to glue my fingers together - wishing everyone a peaceful sunday x
