Ok that’s great.
Are you in LullyDully?

grandma60 Tue 29-Jan-19 20:04:07

Hi I’m in Hampshire but on the border of Dorset, on the coast between Southampton and Bournemouth. If anyone is near me I’d like to meet for coffee sometime. Know Hedge End and Winchester but a bit of a trek for me especially this time of year.

10.30 on Friday 1st Feb at Winchester cathedral is fine with me. Is there just one entrance where we can meet outside? Maybe PM mobiles in case of difficulties?

Any other Hampshire people welcome.

grandma60 Tue 29-Jan-19 17:24:38

Should have said, I am away next Friday (8th) but could do this Friday or 15th.

grandma60 Tue 29-Jan-19 17:22:02

Yes Winchester would be great for me as well. Lots of nice places for coffee.

LullyDully Tue 29-Jan-19 16:34:03

Friday is fine. Am 10.30 or pm 2.00. We could meet at the cathedral.

Shez1955 Tue 29-Jan-19 12:53:02

Sorry I meant I couldn’t do Thursday but am free Friday if that’s any good. Any suggestions where to meet in Winchester?

LullyDully Tue 29-Jan-19 12:42:46

Thursday good for me and Winchester ideal, only if that suits grandma60

Shez1955 Tue 29-Jan-19 12:27:47

Hi LullyDully, I’m a bit of a nervous driver so the Lavender farm is a trek. Winchester I’m fine on the train. How about you grandma60? Otherwise we can arrange something closer. I’m free most days x Thursdays and sometimes Tuesdays for nana sitting duties.

LullyDully Tue 29-Jan-19 09:27:18

Or the lavender farm .it's on the A 34 at Plaitford. A lovely place.

LullyDully Tue 29-Jan-19 09:22:23

Would Winchester be convenient?

grandma60 Tue 29-Jan-19 08:56:00

Hello Shez,
I live in Netley so very close to you. Could meet for coffee if you would like to.

Welcome to Hampshire, it is a big county! I live in North Hampshire on the borders of Berkshire and Surrey.
Sorry I do not know Hedge End. Is Southampton easy accessible for you?
Is there a library near you? they often have information and a very good place to find out about clubs and activities, also Churches

LullyDully Tue 29-Jan-19 08:27:55

Could meet for coffee. Anywhere but Southampton which I find a bit daunting.

LullyDully Tue 29-Jan-19 08:24:41

I am just up the road in Romsey. Do you belong to the NT????

Mamissimo Mon 28-Jan-19 22:13:26

Hi - pm me if you can’t track them down and I’ll try to put you in touch with them ?

Shez1955 Mon 28-Jan-19 20:38:55

Thanks for your replies.
Yes big county, shame you’re at opposite ends to me.
Can’t sing so Rock Choir not for me but I’ll check the other suggestion.

Alima Mon 28-Jan-19 19:04:16

I’m in Hampshire too though only just. Another half mile and it’s West Berkshire. Big county isn’t it. Do Hedge End have a Rock Choir? Can recommend joining as a good way to meet people. Is it easy enough to get into Southampton from your home? Quite a large city, must be loads going on there. Good luck.

Mamissimo Mon 28-Jan-19 18:47:38

Welcome to Hampshire! I’m in the county but right up at the Surrey/Sussex end - but I do think there are more of us. I have family in your area and can highly recommend the Hamble Valley Inner Wheel. It’s a thriving group with ladies if all ages and interests and they have some interesting activities which are a bit lighter than U3A. Your library might know how to contact them?

Shez1955 Mon 28-Jan-19 14:37:11

Moved to Hedge End last June and feeling rather isolated. Not good at socialising, dipped in to U3A and may join soon. It seems quite a family estate where I live and really unsure how to make a new social life now that I’ve retired early.

Online friends would be good or a coffee if you’re nearby.
