form, not firm!
Ah dear - why does getting older equate to diminished brain power?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside here in brackley , but hardly any wind as yet , expecting the day to change weatherwise
My usual Sunday , stay and make my selection of short holiday breaks I have received in the post.
Mick
form, not firm!
Yes, I know what you mean, * Greyduster*, but apparently it is still useful to the scientists, so they ask on the firm for you to record no sightings if you don’t have any birds visit during the hour you choose to watch. Perhaps it has something to do with bird population, though I don’t know the ins and outs of it. I find it frustrating that during the week before I can have seen loads of different birds in the garden, and then only a couple on birdwatch weekend, which more often than not is wet and/or windy, so they stay undercover, but I know they are there - just hiding! ??
Maple surely recording no sightings is misleading. I know that the reason there are no birds in my garden at the moment is that we have run out of bird food and the greedy little ****s have deserted us for richer pickings until the status quo is restored!
Thank you Mapleleaf, will do, though I saw 1 seagull.
Happy Birthday Harris27
Good afternoon all. It was bright, dry and cold early this morning so we put on several layers and loaded up our bikes for a ride into the Welsh countryside. Unfortunately it was summer here in Somerset but winter in Wales with a strong very cold wind and flurries of sleet. Still we managed a good 14 flat miles going from cafe to cafe. Now home, fire lit and a meal cooking in the oven.
Good morning from the Panhandle in the northern part of Florida on a half foggy half cloudy cool morning.
Once we’re ready to go we’ll take a nice walk along the beach to the coffee shop for blueberry muffins and coffee and this afternoon we’ll probably wander up to the Pickleball court to meet up with whoever is there and play a few friendly games.
Laurie lee haven't read that is it a bit like rebbeca shaw or miss read type books Bobdoesit?
Good afternoon it's my birthday today (59) thinking about the big 60! Next year but hey ho having a nice day in wet and windy north east family been round doing some ironing then catch up with a movie later on relaxing! Happy Sunday all !
Good afternoon all, I'm rather late to the party today. Sunny but cold in Somerset. Not doing a lot, Sunday roast soon and maybe a walk or I might just decide to stay in and read. I've just finished Laurie Lee's A village Christmas which I thoroughly enjoyed. Next on my list is The Winter Children by Lulu Taylor.
Good morning or rather good afternoon from Warminster. It is quite sunny here but cold. We have been out for a good walk to the lake.
DH very happy to have walked 2806 steps as his back is improving by the day. It will never be better as he has a congenital defect but trys to keep it stable. Enjoy your sunday everyone and hope that youMick find something suitable through your browsings.
Good morning everyone,
It's starting to cloud over a bit now, but the sun is still shining and the wind is still blowing. Feels a lot cooler today.
Planning to do the birdwatch shortly. 1inamillion, according to the RSPB, even recording no sightings is helpful to them, apparently, so you could still submit your result; and Grammaretto you will be able to record the type and number of squirrels you see in your garden, as there is a section asking about any other wildlife you have seen ( not necessarily during your birdwatch count).
We never see anything like that (or at least, very rarely). Several years since we've seen a squirrel or hedgehog, for example.
Going out for lunch today, but no other plans.
Enjoy perusing your holiday brochures, Mick, hope you find somewhere you want to go.
Hope today is a good one. ?
Good Morning from a bright sunny windy Manchester. Hope all enjoy have a good Sunday.
Good morning from Lancashire. Lovely and bright at the moment but a lot of rain yesterday and in the night.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning. What was a wet looking day when I had my first cup of tea is now considerably brighter. Nothing planned although lots I could be doing in the house. Need to get out and have a leg stretch although there is a jigsaw two thirds finished that is tempting me.
Good morning all from a much brighter County Durham.
I'm trying to get used to taking a trip into the conservatory whenever I need to get something from the fridge/freezer (kitchen in disarray but all will eventually be worth it).
No plans other than a trip to the gym, but then you never know. Spontaneity yesterday took me and OH for a lovely calm walk through a steep sided dene which eventually opened out to the North Sea. What a view.
Have a good day all.
Good morning Mick, Anniebach and all x
Bright blue sky here in SE Essex but cold and windy .
Meeting friends for Sunday lunch later, lots of repetitive back exercises throughout the day. I may need heat pack and pain relief to get to the restaurant.
Keep warm and safe x
Good morning from a damp & windy Devon, placed re-cycling boxes back in their normal places after last night's heavy rain & high winds. Sun is shining but it's still windy. Nothing planned for today apart from read my Sunday papers & potter around. Have a good Sunday all
Good morning all
Nice bright morning here today.
Having a lazy morning.
Vining Daughter, son in law and granddaughters this afternoon - always a joy
Morning all , bright freezing day here with a very strong blustery wind . Hope it is at my back as I head up the street to Mass
Good morning from a blustery NE. We had heavy rain during the night before the wind picked up.
Haven't heard from family so this may be another stay in the warm day.
Good morning All x
Rather breezy by the sea today but it's dry and bright and doesn't appear too cold for the time being.
A brilliant 8hr sleep last night which well made up for the unsettled night before after the pickled onions saga.
Was going to wash some jumpers today but they'd end up in the next road as it's too windy really but never mind there's always another day.
Not up to much today apart from cleaning the bathroom which won't take long.
Hope everyone's day isn't too bad whatever you do.
Good morning all. Can actually see some blue sky this morning thank goodness, the fog/low lying mist has gone.
I'm in chorus with you Gargaran, although mine is improving (dare I say it - fourth week!).
Take care everyone, stay warm and safe.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Hope everyone has a good day x
Good morning everyone; very windy but bright and showery in Northampton. Nothing planned for today, so will laze around, read the newspapers, watch some catch up tv.
Excellent win for Northampton Saints rugby ? yesterday - we beat Leicester Tigers 47-20. Unfortunately a poor man 3 seats from me appeared to have a heart attack and was rushed to hospital; luckily two doctors were sitting within feet of him and were able to act quickly and may have saved him. Just wondering how he is - his poor wife looked ashen.
Thinking of him and feeling grateful to have woken up this morning.
