Hello folks
Thanks Granny Sue, so therefore no matter what only Mick is first to post?
Good Afternoon from a very cold and dull Black Country too!
Have been very busy this morning, sorting out car insurance renewal, mine had gone up £40 from last year, so have been looking for a new quote. Then a long phone call to a friend who moved to Cambridgeshire, then suddenly it was lunchtime.
Glad to hear all is well with Mick! Very impressed with Maws detective skills!
Well said Dora, I am very proud to have been born and bred in the Black Country......aye I
Have a good afternoon everyone.
Megs36 No its just that Mick has traditionally always opened the Good Morning thread.
No matter what, nobody else posts until he has said Good Morning and woken us all up.
Luckily he gets up really, really early.
Ps to last message, bit puzzled ! Are only named GNs allowed to open posts? Eg Mick on Good Morning. Sorry bit thick.
Why does Black Country give you the shivers, Rufus? It ‘s a term that describes part of the West Midlands, because of the coal and iron worked there that powered the Industrial Revolution and later, and used with pride by its inhabitants. People from the Black Country are known to be industrious and astute, no- nonsense types. The accent and the dialect words are beautiful, I think.
I have to agree with comments re down under Rufus!! Even in darkest Britain there are various ways of communicating.... Also I have wondered about Mick, fairly new here so not sure of procedure.
Good Morning from a cold grey Black country
Gymstagran; Thanks for that info. but I still can't understand why Mick couldn't use that service to inform GNHQ and save a lot of grief. As it is, we won't be getting the full story until the middle of next week; and I'm still interested to learn more about Mick and his interests!
And can't you do something about that "Black Country" moniker? Gives me the shudders!
Morning from North Wales......it’s snowing ? yuk!
Glad to hear Mick is ok
Good Morning from chilly South Lanarkshire.
Good morning Folks. 40+mph winds this morning here in rainy Torbay, (Devon). But not as cold as for peeps in the Frozen North! However we got snow in March last year, so I expect we will get our fair share in the end.
The helicopter is circling over the bay which doesn't bode well for some poor soul, and some chaps are down on the beach trying to mend a huge hole in the promenade wall, before a wild tide does more damage. Never a dull moment here. Best wishes to All.
Morning all, slow start this morning!
Cold but sunny Hampshire.
Really into de-cluttering and having a good sort out. Think the charity collection van might need to be Artic Lorry!!!
Take care all and have a good day
Meant to add I'm in a frosty Norfolk
Belated Good Morning to everyone. I'm new to Gransnet too. Joined up to take part in the 50 books a year forum. Sorry I'm late but woke up earlier with an awful cold (which I think my 2 little granddaughters kindly shared at the weekend) and decided to read a couple of chapters of my book under the duvet. Got a bit side tracked! Now off to the farm shop to stock up on vitamin C.
Good morning All x
Dry and breezy in Wirral but no sign of frost.
I thought it might be Mick's comp. These Win 10 are a force to be reckoned with and as I've already said, I much preferred the Win 7 as it was more " straightforward ".
Bit of shopping to do, cat food more than anything.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Hi from another very hot Sydney.
Had a lovely day today....met a friend for coffee, then went to the movies to see Instant Family which was great.
Take care everyone....
I'm a newbie to Gransnet, so a big hello from me in actually quite sunny London!^
Mildmanneredgran; Welcome to GN! My word, that's a long nickname!
It's very nice, although a shorter one would be easier on the typing finger! What part of London is sunny today? Sounds more pleasant than "up North"; they're freezing according to-days posts.
Btw; I'm an OAP, OBE in Melbourne just coming off a heatwave and glad it's raining at long last! Good Health, Cheers!
Good Morning from a cold grey Black country. Libraries have open access computers here too Rufus. However, they are on staff traing till 11am this morning when I shall venture out to change my books
Good morning Annie and all.
The concern for Mick has been heartening, and Maw was clever to be able to find him. Glad that it is ‘only’ computer problems, and nothing more serious.
It’s cold in Berks, and I can’t get going, yet. But laundry awaits, again!
Maybe shopping later on, when DH is off volunteering this afternoon.
Enjoy your days.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
I have therapy today, fearful
Hope everyone has a good day x
Good morning- a bit late.
Just wanted to say Mick rang me yesterday and hopes that his computer will be fixed by Monday or Tuesday and he will be back on line next week.
Hope you all have a pleasant if a bit brrr! day . I’m off for an x ray of my annoying shoulder and then a haircut this afternoon. Life in the fast lane, eh?
I'm a newbie to Gransnet, so a big hello from me in actually quite sunny London!
Good morning from an Arctic Aberdeenshire. It's one of those pearly mornings...frosty with clear sky and a bright glow in the East. Welcome to my World, Gramarretto!
I, too, am having fish and chips...at the Golf Club, with friends from my dog walking days.
Great news that Mick hasn't been abducted by aliens and that he's soon back on line.
Have a safe, warm day everybody.
Good Morning All from a chilly South London. Shopping this morning and relaxing after lunch - this means reading paper/kindle, knitting and tv watching.
Wishing a happy day to all Gransnetters!
Good morning,
It's very cold here this morning, but dry. We are set for a cold spell according to the weather reporters, so wrap up warm when out and about! It doesn't look frosty, but probably was through the night.
General chores today, and a visit to the surgery later.
Yes, it's good news to hear Mick is ok. Let's hope his computer is up and running soon.
Enjoy your day, and to all unwell, I hope you soon start to feel better. ?
Good morning all from Glasgow, it's -1, but feels colder.
Glad to hear Mick is OK, thanks to our Maw. I was getting quite unsettled thinking about him.
Pretty wiped out after my day at hospital yesterday, as I managed to cram in lunch and a bit of retail therapy.
A trip to LIDl today, I shall be "stockpiling" today in preparation for Brexit, as I read it on GN that's the thing to do, so it must be true! Only joking!
I too am contuing my cull for the charity shop. i think they will need a larger van, by the time I'm finished.
Brunette, good luck with the shopping, I love that place, but DH hates it! I always come back with things I don't need!
Enjoy your Friday, all.
