It begins when you have children - night feeds and worries. I was never able to sleep in late in the morning again.
Nowadays we both get up for the loo. I usually get back to sleep ok. Night night.

Rarely sleep more than 4 hours at a time although I sometimes go back for another hour if I m luck. It’s usually the 4 or 5am wake that defeats me, then it’s radio and iPad

I woke up early with a sinus headache. It has almost gone now I have been sitting up for a while with a cup of tea.

The previous evening we went to the pub and had a chat with friends and then I had a brandy when I got home. I slept like a baby but unfortunately it would not be wise to do that all the time!

I didn't get back to sleep but as I'm
staying at DD's I don't want to wake the household by getting up and making tea. Now if there was a kettle by the bed.....

Been up since 5 but it's normal for me. After yesterday's debacle with the smoke detector my husband went back to bed and didn't get up till nearly 9am - I got loads done grin

I’ll try the magnesium, (quite frankly I’ll try anything) thanks for the tipBradfordLass this is how desperate I am I spent £2000 on the most comfortable bed I could find yesterday. It’ll be delivered in 6-8 weeks. I’ve reassured my husband that I’ll start off in our bed but really need a good bed to creep off too if I’m having a bad night and he’s snoring. Even if it doesn’t work my frequent guests will appreciate it. I would just like to know why sleep has become such a battle.

Grandma2213 Hope your party went well, and that you are suitably exhausted to sleep well tonight
