Referendum

Another Remain voter changed mind and would now vote to leave, that is now 4 voters just on this thread. I do think some MP's are behaving disgracefully. They had their vote the same as every other person and their job is to represent the will of the majority of the people which is what a referendum is, a binary vote. Only one side can win and when those in leave constituencies see their MP continue to campaign for Remain it is appalling. If we had another referendum and leave won again, which i suspect they would win with larger margin, i don't believe MP's would still allow us to leave EU. This is not democracy.

Topref would you like to explain that to those in N.Ireland who have accepted a peace process partly because of the EU solution. Ireland is unlike any of the countries you describe and a solution is not going to be so easy. There are still factions who would turn to violence and in fact who still do

Leave then leave now. The way Juncker behaves with that serious sense of self entitlement is a thing to behold. Ruffling that woman's hair and not caring about the consequences because he knows there wont be any. All powerful and drunk on it most of the time. However its not merely because of him I would vote remain again.

I am convinced it is time to get out. I doubt the EU big guns would have treated Maggie Thatcher the way they have treated Theresa May. They have been rude, bigoted and full of entitlement and self importance. Absolutely disgraceful and we should not want to be sullying the UK's reputation by belonging to their gang. Keep our money and put it into Social Care, so that children and older people who need to, benefit. Also put into much needed NHS funding.

I was on holiday when the referendum was held so didn’t vote and was ambivalent about the result as I could see pros and cons to remain and leave. However the one thing that nobody has mentioned about the EU which has always bugged me is that it is yet another tier of bureaucracy which we have to fund. I live in north Wales and we have a town council, a county council, Welsh senate/assembly, Westminster and EU - 5 tiers of people being paid to do the same jobs.....and don’t start me on their sick leave and pensions!

while it’s very nice for a comfortably off graduate like me to have plenty of baristas in my local coffee shops, I’m painfully aware that it is never the likes of me who have to move over and make room.

sarahcyn, a very good point. And one of the many reasons why I was still undecided as I walked up to vote in the referendum, and would be again if we had another.

Things I am sure about - a) we should never have had this shambles of a vote and b) having had it, it would be undemocratic not to honour the result.

I would still vote leave. We were fine as we were. Why change what was working. Just look at the mess/divisions in this issue now.

Yes- I have seen nothing in the last months to make me change my mind.
I voted NO in 1975 too- I did not know a single person ( & I had a very large social group then ) who voted yes. I always believed it was a con & still do

I voted leave and I’d vote the same today, more so. I don’t like or trust the EU project, the UK can do so much better in every way.

I would vote Remain as I did then, and I know of several people who would also now vote Remain although they voted Leave. Additionally, I know a whole load of young people who were not of voting age at the Referendum but who are now and without exception, they would all vote to Remain.

Incidentally, does anyone believe that, should we decide/ask to remain the EU would accept us on the previous/existing terms? Methinks, not a chance. Status quo would perhaps be removed with penalties for the inconvenience and expense we have caused. I reckon the first requirement would be to join the euro. What do others think, please?

One solution would be to implement the decision of the referendum then hold another referendum. That way democracy has been up held. I voted leave but no sure l will ever vote for anything again.

Let's hope that your leave friends cut off all contact with you if the outcome is remain and any of their loved ones lose their jobs.

fyi, the European Court of Human Rights is not an EU institution. The UK could still be affected by its decisions, whether in or out.
Jeremy Corbyn made the same mistake the other day.
If he's proposing to take over soon he really does need to do some homework

I voted leave and I would vote leave again. I do not want my children/grandchildren growing up in an over populated crime ridden country. So it offends me when remainers accuse leavers of not considering the younger generation. That's exactly what I considered thank you. And I am NOT a racist Lesley4347. Wanting to 'control' immigration does not make someone a racist. It's just common sense. Overcrowding affects schools/NHS/social services/housing.

These 27 other countries, many of them have tiny populations. Luxembourg, from whence the odious Juncker hails, has exactly half a million people! Estonia, Latvia, Austria, Lithuania, and others have small populations, 3 to 5 million people. Put all of these small countries together and they still only come up to approximately the population of the UK. None the less I have absolutely np problem about anyone from these countries coming here to work, often because there is little work in their own countries. But to call people racist if they do object is very poor form, so rude and virtue signalling. Often those who voted leave did so for many reasons, the lack of available housing in their area, the downward pressure on their wages, pressures on the NHS, schools over full with many children not even speaking English, layer upon layer of expensive government with little accountability, in particular the Commissioners who are not elected and who make the rules which the parliament and council are expected to rubber stamp, the loss of sovereignty, the possibility of an EU army ( I wonder if the 27 will put up the amount of money they’re supposed to, since they don’t for. NATO).
I voted remain, based purely on the economic arguments. I wouldn’t vote remain again based on the arrogance displayed by Barnier, Juncker, Tusk, and all.

Remain for me again. I’m so depressed by the way our country is going.
