I voted leave so that my grandchildren have a future,I don’t agree with open borders,we don’t know who is coming into our country & I’m happy to help genuine refugees but don’t think we should take in every Tom,Dick or Harry who wants to come here for free benefits..........we need to look after our own homeless & needy first before the rest of the world.

I am very disheartened by these responses. I had been hoping for a new referendum. This was in the belief that, now we can see how we were manipulated in the referendum - the lies that were told (e.g. NHS), the things that weren't mentioned (e.g. Irish border), plus the inability of the government to negotiate a deal then many voters would change from leave to remain. If this straw poll is anything to go by that is not the case!
Unless it's not clear from the above, I remain a remainer! Reform from the inside.

Yes,it’s not racist to want to protect your family from what’s going on in parts of Europe or to keep our communities as they are or to want to help our own people first .

IMHO, the people who voted last time will largely vote the same way as they did before, but I predict what would happen is that the leave-minded who couldn't be bothered to vote last time, will by now be so incensed that they'll all turn out and there will be an additional swing to leave.

The EU does not require open borders, unless we join Schengen, which we opted not to do. Nor does it require us to let people come merely to claim benefits. Our government has freely chosen to implement few restrictions. Don’t blame the EU.

Remain then and remain now. I’ve just been looking at Wikipedia’s breakdown of referendum voting which is depressingly enlightening.

The leave campaign was built on misinformation, xenophobia, and underhand practices. There was no level playing field and I don’t see the result as democratic.

I’d like to see the money saved by remaining put into helping the disadvantaged areas who voted out and save our economy for the sake of our grandchildren.

Successive governments have blamed the EU for any inconvenient problem, even though in many cases it is either not involved or has acted in line with pressure from the UK. I have yet to hear of a single example of significant legislation being forced on us by the EU against our will.

I voted out and feel even stronger that way. We are being told what to do by enelected beaurocrats who can’t be voted out.

I have read all post and can see three people who voted to remain would now vote leave and one voted to leave but may possibly now vote remain.

I voted to leave and would do so again in a heartbeat. All of my family voted to leave including young and educated ones. I am not racist and comments like that Lesley cause offense.

I think another referendum is a complete waste of time and money as people will not change their minds about how they voted. If anything as we have seen here a few odd remain voters would now vote to leave but so small a number it would make little difference. I personally know of three more who say they believed Hammond and Carney who said mortgages would go up but has since said if we have a smooth exit and soft Brexit rates would go up so contradicting himself, and now the Health minister says medicines will continue to be bought in.

Remain then and now; cancelling article 50 would provide certainty required by business and the government could get on with governing.

We are not told what to do by unelected bureaucrats. Decisions in the EU are made by the Council of Ministers (elected heads of state) or the European Parliament, which we elect. Why is there still so much misinformation about the EU?

I voted leave and I would definitely vote leave again.

I would still vote to leave. This is a golden opportunity to trade with the rest of the world. We were perfectly alright before we joined Europe and would be again. The EU have been truly awful to us in these negotiations, do we really want people like this making our laws and telling us what to do?

I wasn’t sure which way I’d vote until the morning of the referendum. I voted leave in the end. In a second vote I wouldn’t think twice to vote leave as I have been so disgusted by the arrogant, insulting , scaremongering, throwing their toys out of the pram nonsense coming out of so many Remainers mouths.

Leave then and still leave. I was surprised by the amount of leavers on this post as, whenever there is a thread about the referendum, there seems to be mainly remainers who comment. Is that, perhaps, because of the abuse people get from the likes of lesley4357 who call you racist for wanting your elected politicians to run your country. This 'disgraceful shambles', that was the subject of a previous post, has been caused by negotiations by people who do not really want to leave playing poker with their cards face up on the table.

If I was allowed to vote I would vote remain.Someone mentioned a coalition Government, believe me that isnt a solution Sweden has a coalition Government and at present we havent a Government, nodody can agree they ousted the PM out, now he is in again, but they arent sure if he should stay or not, this has been going on for four months, it is chaotic here as well, but we are in the EU.

GranJan60, Reform from within? We’ve been in for decades and the EU have gone as bad as it is while we were there. Can’t vote their ‘elite’ out because they’re unelected, and they’re the problem! And do you think there would have been war in Europe in the last 30 odd years? Don’t talk such utter rubbish. DEFINITELY out if ever there was another referendum but in my opinion, we’ve had the choice now get on with it. Should have had a PM who wanted out. I knew what I wanted (despite remainders saying I and the other 17.4 million were misled).
