I have never warn a pair of jeans!
Unbelievable What I've Just Read
This thread may have been on before but I didn’t see it, so forgive me if repeating it.
I was sitting in the car at the petrol station today while my DH filled the tank. It was then that I thought “I’ve never done that.” It started me thinking about other things I’ve never done. Isingand ‘Self serve tills’ was another.
Anyone else got ordinary daily things that they have never ever done?
I have never warn a pair of jeans!
Or you may just find that unblocking a drain or emptying a mouse trap isn't what it's cracked up to be, Orelse.....
If you've got so far without doing these things, just count your blessings! My lovely bucket list contains things I really want to do, not those I (or other people) think I should.
When my Dad died in 1992, my brother and I were very concerned about my Mum as she 'had never' done much to be honest - run a bank account, paid a bill, even had a chequebook! But she did manage in the end and is still managing now well into her 80's bless her, she is fitter than I am to be honest ...... !
Grandma70s - not even Father Christmas?
Sorry, I went off piste there (another thing I never want to do!).
One ordinary, everyday thing I've never done is worm a pet. Thank goodness.
I regret this hugely but I never learned to ice-skate.
I've never played any form of sport.
And looking at those "oldies" of my acquaintance who always boasted about how sport made them healthier than me, I'm amused to see that they are now full of arthritis and I'm not.
I never learned to ice skate or roller skate and it's too late now.
I can put up shelves but don't. If DH dies before I do, I shall sell the house and move to something smaller, probably a flat or sheltered accommodation and will look for somewhere where there is a janitor cum handyman to do the things I can't.
I find cats preferably to mouse-traps, but I have once fished a dead mouse out of a bath-tub! Using the coal tongs and a piece of newspaper, I may say.
I have never driven on a motorway.
I have never been up in our loft, but have peeked through the hatch - too scary, if I did manage the courage to get up there I would never get down again....
I have never swum in the deep end of the pool.
Avoid chocolate fountains like the plague! The only way to make chocolate flow like that is to mix it with copious amounts of oil and having been shown just how much oil to chocolate I would never touch one again.
I have a friend who went on a very steep learning curve when her marriage broke down- she didn’t know how to put fuel in her car! I have never pulled a pint and have no intention of learning
MissAdventure - you’ve missed nothing by not reading The DaVinci Code. One of the worst books I’ve ever read.

Well, that's a relief.
One less thing to do..
Having been left on my own with a big house and a 6 year old, I dredged up lost skills from living in my own flat alone ..plugs, spiders, juggling a full time job and money (ex was a compulsive gambler ..I have NEVER gambled and wouldn't want to ! can't even bear to buy a lottery ticket ) (although I have, because you never know !) Then met and married a super DIY enthusiast who never let me do anything because 'youwon't do it right'...now he has a disabling illness so I have again dredged up my skills and do most thing ...look after the car (BUT hee hee I have found a lovely young man at the garage who will check my tyre pressures, oil, etc etc for a tip ...sadly because of arthritis in myhands I am totally unable to undo the little plugs to check the air)......I no longer mow the lawn as I have found again, another lovely young man to come along ...only takes him half an hour with his sit on mower, used to take me 3 hours ! he also trims all the trees and bushes ...of course I pay him the going rate, and all he ever wants is a bottle of water bless him ! Finding someone to renew some broken tiling around the house is however proving difficult ...if I could bend down, I would do it ...and lightbulbs my husband insisted on down lights in every room and fancy on the ceiling glass shade things ...I simply CANNOT change those ...but again, when the firemen were round selling their calendar I asked them to come in and replace the batteries in my smoke alarms which they did !! I hate having to ask people to do things I used to do ....when we moved to a bungalow I suggested to my husband (who was then 73) that we make it EASY to live ..i.e. no enormous trees in the garden (it was new then) SO we have 12 trees and a huge willow tree ...hedges all round rock gardens, shrubs, flowers, a wooden pergola shed, and they all need so much maintenance ...my neighbours were all sensible and most have a path round the garden and a lawn, with a few flower tubs .....simples ! I am enviously eyeing up a retirement flat .......bliss
I've never known all the words to the national anthem.
I havent been into our loftwe have lived here for five years, but you access this loft you have to go outside and get a ladder, then climb up it outside no matter what the weather,I must add we live in Sweden, so it is not only dangerous its flipping cold, but I hold the ladder, with gloves on, so that my Husband can climb the ladder then climb into the loft, the circus is when he has to climb down backwards, now you all know why I dont attempt it. It may be a bit too dangerous for a lady of mature years and not so elegant either!
I've never pressure washed a patio.
I learned to put petrol in a car before DH died and I eventually learned how to pump up the tyres a few months ago but it terrified me at first.
I've never had my nails done because I bite. I have never been to a nightclub, never tried cannabis or any other illegal drug and never had a tattoo. I can sort the car out and decorate do the garden etc so there's not much I can turn my hand to
I have never smoked, marijuana, tobacco, anything. Dad and big brother both smoked, and friends tried to get me to try, but I have never had one puff - and I am so glad!
By the way, said Dad and big brother both had beards, and my DH has one, too - I can recommend it!
Ive got lots of nevers.
Never smoked, tasted alcohol, run a marathon, learn to ski, never studied a foreign language, never played chess, would NEVER go into my loft, roller skated, ice skated, sky dived etc., what a sheltered (boring) life Ive led!
