Good morning All x
I'm not liking the darkness of the mornings at all. Have been up for nearly 3 hours sneezing my head off so that's another toilet roll used up !
Dull and damp out but again not that cold. A day of using up foods with 31st date before getting half-leg of lamb from the freezer for Tuesday.

Some ironing to do after it being a fabulous drying day yesterday. Christmas jumpers all washed and put away until next year.

Hope the lurgy is fizzling out for those unfortunate to have sampled it. Not nice !

Good morning, it is overcast and mild.
I had a disturbed night and am feeling groggy this morning.
No plans other than read the newspapers.

Good morning. Grey and dry here in Northampton. Cats woke me again at 6am, but I had a lie-in till 7, and made them wait for their breakfast. And then they had the nerve to turn their noses up at what I offered! I shall leave it out till mid-morning and then throw it out, and they will have to survive on their dry food till tea-time.

Shopping trip to Sainsbury's yesterday, and met our previous neighbours in the M&S cafe. Had a long chat and catch up with family news etc. When they moved in next door to us, their children were 4 and just 1 - they are now 24 and 21! And then on the way home on the bus I met the parents of one of my pupils from the 1970s - and he has just retired from the police! Reminds me of how old I'm getting...........

Will have a walk to the paper shop this morning and pay the bill, then it will be a day at home, (probably watching rugby on tv this afternoon), followed by steak for dinner. Watch some more catch up tv too. Oh and Les Miserables which I think starts tonight on BBC.

Hope your day turns out well.

Good morning from a grey, mild Colchester.
Quiet Sunday with roast lamb for Dinner.
I was very disappointed by the sales yesterday. Most shops had put out all their old tat. I ventured into HMV hoping for a bargain and things were still more expensive than the supermarket....no wonder they're going out of business.

Good morning from a brightening Birmingham, where the sky is beautiful, with low clouds caught by the rising sun. I’ve been sitting watching it changing. My eldest daughter, her husband and baby are coming for lunch today and for grandson to open his presents from me, then later we are going to see the lights at the Botanical Gardens.

Good Morning all! It's dry and dull and not quite light here on the south coast but still quite mild.

We are back home from DS's after enjoying a very happy time with lots of chat and fun and easy travel. Always a bonus.

It's time to start the return to normal routines now. I intend to take the decs. down on Tuesday and sort throught the larder cupboard, which still seems very full. We had a hamper as one gift and the contents have filled up any spare space I had.

Hope everyone had a happy Christmas and that the New Year is a good one for us all.

Good morning Mick and all.
Late up for me this morning, A pottering about day in store , after spending yesterday in bed with the lurgy. I was so disppointed to miss the family lunch.
I can sympathise, oldgaijin, I have lost my voice again. (Much to the delight of DH, a great excuse for him not listening grin ).

I hope everyone has a good day, whatever you have planned.

Good morning all from a dark, mild East Nothants. Took the tree and decorations down yesterday. Planned to meet grandchildren and great grandchildren at a Rushden Lakes cafe, but spent over an hour trapped in the traffic and there were no parking spaces. Never dreamt it would be so busy! So all came back to mine for tea instead.

Trip to visit relatives in Coventry planned with youngest son today, but he was suffering yesterday with the after effects of a large prawn stir fry, so couldn't leave the house! Awaiting phonecall to report on progress. Have a peaceful Sunday everyone!

Good Morning everyone, it's dark and windy here in Fife this morning, doesn't look a nice day at all. Oldgaijin you sound awful, stay in bed for sure. Meeting DD and 2 x DGS today then all meeting up with DD old school friend home from Australia, looking forward to the meet up. Hope Sunday is a good day for everyone, for those feeling under the weather take care.

Morning Mick, Morning All. It’s another dark, heavy looking start in our corner of Somerset. Hoping one of ours will drop off a lead he says he has and we apparently need for Mr C’s complicated sound system. Means not a thing to me. Other than that a day without expectation and very little cooking. Hope Sunday is kind to everyone

Morning g Mick, morning Beechnut, morning all.

North Leicestershire is damp but I think the rain has stopped. We have DS1, DD1, SiL and DGC x 2 coming for lunch today after having DS2 and his partner for a meal last night!

Enjoy your days everyone!

oldgaijin Sun 30-Dec-18 07:27:44

Morning all from a still dark Aberdeenshire...the rain's battering at the window and I've woken up with a throat like a slab of raw meat. My nose is streaming and my mouth feels like the bottom of a budgie cage. I am NOT a happy bunny, think I'll hibernate 'til Spring, g'night!

Beechnut Sun 30-Dec-18 06:38:42

Good Morning all,
It is dark, looks dry and cloudy here near the Severn.
I think I’ll take most of my decorations down today and just have winter ones here and there.
I want to make Nadiya Hussein sprout slaw for New Year, have to go out and get the ingredients tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a good day.
