Oh dear I don't know what (or who) to believe now.
Recently I searched for posts on something I was interested in buying, and my search found so many old posts from familiar Gransnetters who are no longer with us. Very sad to see all those names now gone (or possibly some changed name).
There seem a lot fewer regular posters now, I think many were driven away by the privacy issues. Gransnet seems to be gradually disappearing. I'm sure there are many lurkers, who regularly read but choose not to post.
When I read a new post with a rather risqué or weird feel, from an unknown poster, I sometimes search to see if they are actually new. If so I would just ignore the post. "They" want to upset us and get attention. Best thing is to totally ignore the post.
I realise this means some new posters with a genuine problem may be ignored. But it's worth the risk in my opinion.
