Cleaning silver

Not Christmas cutlery, but earrings.
Does anyone have a sure-fire way that works, please?

I've tried putting them in tomato sauce and a few of the other things I've read online, but they don't seem to work for me. tchsmile

A jeweller told me to dunk my rings in methelated spirits to lift the dirt out. To clean black off silver I use Silver Dip and an old toothbrush with soft bristles.

I have often soaked jewellery in methylated spirits. It comes out really sparkly and I polish it off with a tissue.

depends what they are made of
Silver dip works for silver earrings but be careful if they have stones in them, glass should be ok.
