Silver dip works for silver earrings but be careful if they have stones in them, glass should be ok.

I have often soaked jewellery in methylated spirits. It comes out really sparkly and I polish it off with a tissue.

A jeweller told me to dunk my rings in methelated spirits to lift the dirt out. To clean black off silver I use Silver Dip and an old toothbrush with soft bristles.

What's the betting that i'll work my way through the list, and then lose one of the earrings?

I soak my silver earrings overnight in gin or failing that vodka, What was good enough for my Mum is good enough for me I used to do it with my wedding and engagement ring too before they got stolen
Seriously I don’t know if it would work on bling but I put the cheapie sleepers in and the dirt floats of them as well. I have to put them in a safe place or DH would pour them down the sink. I only use a tiny bit in the bottom of a wine glass

I bought some silver cloths called Town Talk. They are available from online sites in various sizes. Perfect for polishing small pieces of jewellery. I also have an ultrasonic device which is great if you want to clean lots of items at the same time but care must be taken with stones or pearls.

I soak my earrings overnight in coke , then rinse them carefully in a sieve to avoid them going down the plughole.

There is jewellery cleaner to buy for both gold and silver works on costume jewellery also.

You can buy a special cleaning cloth from jewellers.
Brings them up a treat. Earrings, rings etc.

Just don't use silver dip in your pandora!! It will ruin it.

Years ago we had a lot of ornate silver trophies and my mother used to clean them with rouge, jewellers as that gives a lovely finish to silver.

Talcum powder made into a paste. Rub it on and wash off and polish.

Jalima, the aluminium baking foil with soda and boiling water works just as well as the plate and is better for large items. All items need to be in contact with the aluminium foil. The plate is a bit small (yes, I have one, too)

I did a little training with a museum conservationist who said that silver should never be cleaned with abrasives, except as a very last resort, as it's soft metal and easily rubbed away. She started with white spirit on a cotton wool swab, an impregnated cloth for more stubborn bits and an abrasive paste as a last resort!

She'd never heard of the foil and soda method but I've used it a lot and it works well.

I think someone on here asked about Goddard's silver dip - easily available from Amazon.

I have Silver Dip. It does work but I think the effect wears off quickly. I bought little blue cloths on Amazon that work very quickly. prefer those.

I found a cloth which was supposedly for cleaning jewellery, still unused and unsealed, amongst some things from MIL's house. It must be impregnated with something but does seem to clean jewellery quite well with a gentle rubbing. I think they are still available.

For large items I've used Silvo and elbow grease then discovered the metal plate which you use with hot water and soda crystals if you want to clean silver the lazy way. However, I can't remember where I bought it, it was many years ago.

I use John Lewis silver foam. You apply it with a wet sponge, rinse it off and dry. I’ve used it to great effect on jewellery and small ornaments but nothing as small as your earrings sound, but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work.

I rubbed my silver bud vases with a damp rag and baking soda , came up a treat , I did give them a good rinse under the hot tap after to make sure the soda wasn't left on the vases
