Is it me or is anyone else fed up with seeing pictures of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex holding onto her bump, it has been constant since day1 of the announcement.now I am not averse to seeing pregnancy bumps , in fact it can be lovely, but I truly feel it’s almost as if she is acting all the time. It is starting to really grate on me , I wish someone would tell her to stop!!!

More irritating to me is that the Queen is aging and Camilla will be the new queen, disgusting as there's no longer anything royal about being a royal...anything goes.

Should code of dress for work be ignored by one staff member ? When the royals are carrying out royal duties there has always been a code of dress . Anne doesn’t turn up in jodhpurs does she ? Yet Megan is praised for breaking the code of dress , anti royalists ?

I can’t believe so many people enjoy bitching about this perfectly attractive young woman enjoying her husband and pregnancy. Give her a break.

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 16:15:25

Camilla will not be Queen, she may be queen consort and should be . Megan was an American tv actress, on marriage she took her husband’s title. Kate will be Princess of Wales but never Princess Kate, same as it was with Diana.

Wallis Simpson was Duchess of Windsor, again her husband’s title.

There's nothing wrong with Camilla other than what is also wrong with Prince Charles. Ie they both committed adultery and divorced. I don't see why anyone should be happy for Charles to take the throne therefore, and not for Camilla to join him.

Aquamarine.
I think you're on the wrong thread. This is about Meghan Markle.
Why not look on the forums to see if there's a thread matching your question, if not, start a new thread yourself. Good luck.

she was an actress so i do sometimes wonder if she is putting a act on when she is out and about, but as for the pregnancy . i `m quite happy to see her holding her bump

Ruthiek you are echoing the exact words I spoke to my husband this morning on seeing Meghan in the Times!!

Lol...gringringrin

Good heavens, get a grip! There are many much more important things to worry about and if it bothers you then change your newspaper/magazine and don't scan for photos of the poor woman. Leave her alone, it's absolutely none of your business.

icanhandthemback Wed 19-Dec-18 16:43:51

Royal Protocol can and should change to stay in line with modern society. Somebody has to ring the changes and I don't see why it shouldn't be The DofS. It's hardly the greatest sin to hold your bump with 2 hands and it certainly doesn't make you a bad person. MM was promoted by the media as a breath of fresh air, now they seem hell bent on putting her down.

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 16:51:15

Esmerelda, seems it is your business or you wouldn’t be reading the thread and posting on it

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 16:53:11

If royal protocol has to be changed it is up to the senior royals not a minor royal .

ReadyMeals Wed 19-Dec-18 17:09:16

Anniebach, actually it's up to the media. I think their opinions and pressure seem to be running the country these days. Since they forced the poor young princes and their grandma down to London after Diana died. You know when the press says "Fury as x" or "Anger at y" they actually pay someone in the office to get angry or furious so that the headlines are not actually lying. After all, it's only after reading the articles that the public find out anything's happened to get angry about.

ruthiek Wed 19-Dec-18 17:10:36

Well that told me! It was just an observation that whenever I turn the news on or look at the papers there she is holding onto her bump, even st 9 eeeks when it was announced . Tbh I do find her irritating so maybe that’s why . As for having nothing else to think about - far from it , was just an observation I voiced

I am not a royalist but I am really fed up of all the negativity towards Meghan. I quite like her and think she is the best thing to happen to the Royal Family, since Princess Di. Why shouldn’t she hold her bump, I think it is very protective and totally natural. Could all the negativity be because she was taking the limelight away from Kate, so of course she has to be criticised and put down as this just isn’t acceptable!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that Harry and Meghan are worth far more than the rest of the Royal Family put together.

Bridgeit Wed 19-Dec-18 17:17:24

Ohh dear Ladies, what a storm in a teacup, have we nothing better to do than criticise........ do unto others as you would be done by, it seems one can be hounded for being too good or too bad, too false too sincere, too insincere , too hands on not hands on enough, wearing the wrong shoes, coat, dress, looking eyes up , down , sideways, what exactly IS it that you want this particular Human Being to do, perhaps some would prefer her to wear sack cloth and ashes & apologise for any offence her existence causes !?

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 17:18:27

ReadyMeals it was the public who demanded the return to London, do you not remember the many, many interviews with the public in London ? I think the Queen didn’t return until the Thursday anyway.

anti Wed 19-Dec-18 17:18:40

Strangely enough I thought that too this morning when I saw yet another photo of Meghan holding her Bump....nice to begin with but after a while it becomes boring!!

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 17:21:44

Chucky Kate never chased the cameras, she and William are certaintly not lovers of cameras

Jaxie Wed 19-Dec-18 17:31:21

Meghan is constantly in the spotlight: wouldn't we all feel self conscious in the circumstances? She's a trained actress and has the skills to defend herself by assuming a persona which isn't necessarily her own. She'll have great difficulty achieving any privacy at all. I feel kind of sorry for her. Will she chew up Harry and spit his bones out on the road though - or am I nasty cynic?

kwest Wed 19-Dec-18 17:33:42

Leave her alone.

Trisher123 Wed 19-Dec-18 17:51:30

Surely she's so very happy to be having a baby. I think it's lovely.

icanhandthemback Wed 19-Dec-18 18:24:27

If she is such a minor Royal, Anniebach, it's hardly worth the worry if she breaks with protocol.

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 18:35:38

icsnhandthemback, as a junior royal who has all the privileges of the senior royals it is her duty to fit in with the senior royals surely ?
