Is it me or is anyone else fed up with seeing pictures of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex holding onto her bump, it has been constant since day1 of the announcement.now I am not averse to seeing pregnancy bumps , in fact it can be lovely, but I truly feel it’s almost as if she is acting all the time. It is starting to really grate on me , I wish someone would tell her to stop!!!

Some of you need to get out more....

It was too much press attention that ultimately led to the death of Prince Harry's mother........

Sorry to say I find the holding of the baby bump a tad irritating too. For goodness sake she should be adjusting to her new royal status by being less showy and cringeworthy. What next? A celebrity slot on One Born Every Minute? I bet the queen is squirming with annoyance. We didn't see Duchess of Cambridge playing to the cameras like this but she does have so much more style and grace.

I agree with Ruthick and Ninathenana. First thing I noticed, too. And no, it's not done in the same natural way that most pregnant ladies hold or rub their bump. It seems to me, too, to be very affected.

I never see photos of her either, am not that interested, but do feel for her or anyone whose every move, every outfit, every comment etc is judged. Negatively. As mawbroon says, it could be they wait for that moment to take their photos. Newly married, newly pregnant, royal family protocols to get used to, must be a bit if a nightmare at times.

Ruthiek

She’s an actress by profession ?

gillyknits Wed 19-Dec-18 09:41:12

I just wish she’d wear tights or stockings. The bare legged look doesn’t work in our winters!

Is anyone else coping with estrangement and terms/conditions at holiday times. Christmas can be so difficult to get through with seeing/hearing everything geared to happy family gatherings. How do people cope with having AC and GC but not allowed to see purely out of meanness. I know my GC would love to spend time with her Granny but she isn't allowed. Just all so sad. Any coping mechanisms ?

Think I may have done that much of the time too. Can't remember (of course!). However, I wasn't constantly hounded by camera people waiting for my every move and particularly those looking for something detrimental. I hope Meghan continues to enjoy her waiting time and that all goes smoothly for all of them. Happy days indeed.

I was in a,waiting room yesterday and looking at magazines which I never normally see. What a load of bollocks in them! Glitzy events with celebs..mostly famous for being photographed at glitzy events, But there were some royal articles too. Waffle waffle of the journalists opinions! No direct quotes. It seems celebs and royals are big business for fashion/ cosmetics etc. so journos hack out all sorts of nonsense to keep them high profile..in the minds of those that care or buy the mags/ papers they feature in.

She is doing no one any harm and it obviously comforts her. The press is in full Meghan attack mode. Sad that so many people are happy to join in. She is obviously doing her best.
No one can like everyone and no one should be put under the pressure of trying to please everyone.
I agree with Dorset. What pleasure do people get from being bitchy and judgmental and trying to bring someone down? It is one thing if it is someone like Andrew who does some very questionable things and keeps very unpleasant company but Meghan is harming no one.

Greciangirl Wed 19-Dec-18 09:46:55

Funnily enough, I have also noticed her cradling her bump in almost every photo I see of her.

I don’t know why, but I feel irritated with her.
It’s almost too much bump attention.

EllanVannin Wed 19-Dec-18 09:47:13

I think it's all because she's now a member of the Royal family that people feel the need to point this out. Nothing would be said if it was the ordinary woman on the street.

This is also new for Meghan not having been pregnant let alone amongst the highest profile family in the world.
The baby will naturally be moving from time to time as well so could be her way of reassurance towards the growing child who she'll obviously welcome with untold wonder.

Lots of women hug their bump. Let her be.

KatyK Wed 19-Dec-18 09:49:53

Slightly off topic but there is a lovely pic of her in the press today talking to Richard O'Sullivan (remember him? I loved him in Man About the House etc). She was visiting Brinsworth House, a residential home for ex performers.

Testing to see if this is posted.

Worry about something worth worrying about if you must.

catta5 Wed 19-Dec-18 09:50:59

After all she is a actress and used to being centre stage she has got what she wants Her best redemption is getting her husband off shooting seems so hypocritical of the princes to want to save wildlife in Africa and then enjoying shooting our own wildlife bet they are all for badger, boar, hare and deer culling

manma2 Wed 19-Dec-18 09:51:29

Me too

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Dec-18 09:52:09

Press are hounding the woman, they print / play what they want you to see.

I had my last child at 36, much wanted and difficulty conceiving, I am pretty sure that I held onto my tummy for the whole 9 months.

She was put on a pedestal by the media as a breath of fresh air in the Royal Family, now they just want to knock her down.

I wish everyone could let her enjoy her pregnancy and the early years of her marriage.

EllanVannin Wed 19-Dec-18 09:54:09

Meghan obviously has an overwhelming love for this forthcoming baby. You can see it in her face.

It's so unfair that the poor woman is being treated in this way by the press and public when she's trying her very best to fit in and please everyone. Thank goodness that Harry has the experience of what happened with his mother to enable him to deal with everything.

Riverwalk Wed 19-Dec-18 09:54:20

I must say it looks very bitchy to see two threads, each with a red angry face emoji, about a young woman holding her pregnancy bump. And all grandmothers.

Reminds of those miserable women who tut tut when young mothers get on the bus with buggies.

ajanela Wed 19-Dec-18 09:56:11

If this was the only critism of MM ok, but in view of all the horrific coverage it becomes bashing.

Yes, she is playing a part, the life she has married into means she has to. She is trying to support her husband who is the 2 nd most popular royal. So do him a favour and support his wife before they both leave the country. After what happened to his mother he won't stand for his wife being treated the same way.

Nanny41 Wed 19-Dec-18 09:57:15

Havent seen many photos at all of Meghan unfortunately, I cant comment I dont live in the UK and in this country they only bother about their own Royal Family.
Holding a bump doesnt bother me, whoever is doing the holding.

Veda Wed 19-Dec-18 09:57:58

I agree with you & I also find her constantly brushing her bits of hair away very irritating & hanging on to her husband’s hand, something that Kate & William have never done. I wasn’t happy when she came on to the scene & I still feel the same. The problems with her father are awful. She should be careful if she is trying to change things. Diana did that & look what happened. I loved Diana. When she passed away in such terrible circumstances I was no longer a royalist apart from the Queen & Prince Phillip. I also greatly admire Princess Anne. I think Meghan’s dress sense is terrible, Teresa May also has terrible taste in clothes. Sad when they have all the designers at their fingertips. Diana was a wonderful model as is Kate. Watch that space...
