I drove back from Wales to Surrey yesterday in awful rain and wind. Was so glad to get back safely and when I walked over to my daughters when I arrived it was freezing

Friends in France posted pics on line of icy conditions. Including a sky dish covered in a sheet of ice. Shortly after they posted the area had lost power.

We had sleet in Kent this afternoon.

I am recovering from a foot injury so I have an excuse to put my feet up and hunker down. I just need someone to look after me!

Colchester Essex and absolutely FREEZING feels like -5 with a strong biting wind as soon as you open the front door. Very draughty old house on a hill so built a big fire and now having a g&t before cooking a curry.

..yes heart breaks for those people who for whatever reason are living on the streets...

Anyone with any sense would have stayed put today. High winds are dangerous apart from it being bitterly cold and wet as well.
Even my cats changed their usual toilet route and hurriedly scurried back in.

Yes, businesses will have suffered a blow too.

I daren't even begin to think how the homeless must be feeling/faring.

Just been outside and it's now melting...was beautiful.

I experienced freezing rain on top of snow and ice, some years ago. I can vividly recall being stranded on the pavement near my son's house, clutching a wall, in the dark, and hoping someone would rescue me, which they did eventually. Not fun.

It just seems to be raining here and windy.

Wet and dark as night here in South London but no freezing rain. But to be honest I have not been out in it!!

I was just thinking what a shame it is for all the local shops. I'm sure they were hoping for a profitable day today and the weather will have kept a lot of people in. Certainly did me!

It's just been dark all day here with what must be the eye of the storm in this part. I believe the sea is angry too as I've just had the umpteenth delivery and the young chap said it was dreadful down by the sea wall.
Morrison's was flooded after the last bad storm hit us as it's right near the sea.

Pouring down here, but not icy at all ( thankfully).

Very wet, cold and windy here in SW Wales. The sky has just changed to a very odd yellow. Quite peculiar

It is very scary stuff. We were in Holland once when we had freezing rain and could not stand up let alone drive. We were stranded.

Where do you live? The rain here on the South coast is just miserable? cold driving rain; but not cold enough to freeze ☔️☔️☔️☔️

JudiDrench Sat 15-Dec-18 15:16:08
